I totally agree! I feel the same way. If I can buy the same quality for $10, what is the incentive to spend $30? I'm NOT buying the product for the name on the outside, I'm buying it for how it performs.
I agree. I don't mind spending more money on a product, but I do expect it to perform better and have better quality if I do.

I definitely want to see a "worst highlighters" video! I feel like people praise highlighters until they're blue in the face but you don't see a lot of people talking about the biggest absolute fails. Inconsistent/patchy ones, ones that disrupt the makeup underneath, chalky, REALLY emphasize texture, etc.

really!? thats probably why i have a estee lauder palette and there are such horrible, shadows! but there is one eyeshadow in there that i love! its crazy

JustGabby27 I have an Estée Lauder lipstick and it's horrid and sticky and the colour looks cheap. To make matters worse, it was really expensive and I'm not even allowed to bin it due to the extravagant price.

I love watching your negative reviews because you do them so well. You explain what's bad/didn't work for you without bashing the brand or implying that your opinion is the definite and just because you didn't enjoy it no one else will. It's a fine line that I feel some youtubers really struggle with.
Right? She's so reasonable and objective! I really love the statements about Too Faced and inconsistency, she presents it so kindly and matter-of-factly. This is exactly how to conduct a callout of an issue.

Hey Tati, I'd love for you to take these crappy eyeshadows and try to blend them out on your hand or on the eyes to show how patchy or weird they get vs. good eyeshadow, kind of a comparison. When I saw the swatches I thought 'oh they look shiny and pretty when swatched'. Love ya, as always, tell it like it is.

HEY AWESOME! it often doesn't look the same on the hand and on the eyelids, and it depends if you use your finger or a brush to pick up the product... I have been super disapointed recently by some palettes I bought... they looked awesome used with a finger on the back of my hand, but then nothing showed with a brush!

I don't understand why beauty vloggers seem to be so afraid of telling us how hey really feel. It made me laugh when Tati mentioned how opinionated she is, like she totally bashed the products she talked about in the vid. I didn't get that vibe from her reviews at all. If I were in the position to talk about my opinion on those Maybelline nude pallets... man, I would go off! They totally suck!

Once Tati does a review on The Body Shop make up every one's life will be complete ❤️ I've noticed it's always highly requested on almost all of her videos.
I don't think anyone thinks it's special in any way really just a lot of people want to see what she thinks about it and it's quality before they go out and spend their money possibly. I didn't even know they sold makeup but now I am a little curious to see if it's quality or not!

SuperDylanFox this probably doesn't relate at all but one time on Instagram a mua was telling everyone about this awesome foundation she was using and always raving about , and I commented asking her other followers what they thought about it cause I was seriously interested but it wasn't exactly cheap. and she got so angry at me getting an online attitude talking about why didn't I trust her bla blah blah, like I bet you she got pages for everyone who bought from her posts or whatever lol.
I would like to purchase it and like any investment, I would like to know her opinion,which is the whole point of her channel,her opinion. not asking her to judge anyone dont be silly

Has Tati ever reviewed the Urban Decay "moondust" palette? Mine arrived yesterday and I was blown away .... so pigmented, so buttery, and so sparkley. The colour selection is also gorgeous! I will never use pigments or loose glitters ever again - this palette is all I need.

Rachel, I will probably only wear the two pastel shades for evenings out this summer ... but the gorgeous jewel colours will be just what I need during party season next christmas/new year. Can't wait to wear them!

I'm glad y'all love that palette but I hate it! Blends horribly and just wasn't what I wanted it to be. I never use it anymore it just sits there taken up space.
Whitney Orr girl I know this is late, but sell that sucker! If it was only used once or twice with brushes, some hardcore makeup lovers who don't want to pay the retail price for the product will definitely buy it! That way it doesn't take up space for you, someone else gets some eyeshadow, and you can spend the money you get for it on more makeup if you want!

Gurl preach! Now that brands like Makeup Geek and ColourPop let you build your own palettes with their great super inexpensive shadows there's really no excuse for these $$$ crappy palettes!

where can i get a custom pallete
Colourpop singles are $5 a piece. If you want a palette with about 6 colors, that's $30 - not including the cost of the actual palette since free palettes from their website only come with 4 slots. For $30+ you can get some pretty amazing palettes with LOTS of shadows. The custom-single shadow palettes just seem so gimmicky to me, personally.
Hm, I guess, but personally, I'd rather pay $30 for a custom palette with bigger pans of the 6 shadows I know I'm going to love and use, rather than $30+ (really most worthwhile palettes seem to be around $45-$55 though) for a smaller but more varied assortment of things I may or may not like.
NekoShey I think you should do more research on pan sizes per ounce. You'd see there are better options out there where you get more product for your money. coastal scents and colourpop and morphe singles are the same size but colourpop cost 2x more.
Maybelline palettes are absolute trash.. I'll stick with my Makeup Revolution
The new cover girl palettes are really pretty good, esp the sunsets palette. Imo better quality than MR, which I also own.
Tati can you do this thing called 'jamsu'. It's a Korean beauty technique where you apply you primer, concealer and foundation and apply a lot of baby powder dip your face into ice cold water for 30 seconds and you'll have flawless makeup. I want your opinion about it

Snigdha Varrey This actually works. I do this when I don't want to be bothered retouching and I want a matte finish all day. Just make sure to use a translucent powered.

She is a very famous Frenchwoman, Terry du Gunzburg. Developed Touché Eclat when working for YSL. Started her own line, very pricey. She has some beautiful stuff.

elizabeth greer Tati was right about the new Maybelline Single eyeshadows. I got the Glo Down and the swatch was so creamy and metallic I couldn't believe it was Maybelline. I don't know why they couldn't make the same quality in the new palettes
Beulah307 i don't really like their shades in foundations for my skin at least and their foundations in general (particularly fit me matte) but their mascaras are great
elizabeth greer I have heard the theory that drugstore makeup wearers of neutral shadows are older, and don't want a lot of color. Blue shadows on the other hand are teenaged me, lol

Maggie Q The Natural Mattes is so good. I use it almost daily with something shimmery on the lid. Perfect for basics.
the boudoir eyes palette is a good one. blendable and lovely.
I bought a summer themed too faced pallet a few years ago and took it with me abroad in eastern europe as my only eyeshadow kit. I was so mad because it was absolutely terrible and I was stuck with awful eyeshadow for 2 weeks. my fault for not testing it first, but I've avoided too faced ever since.

I don't have this particular palette but I know what Tati said is unfortunately true. It happens with fashion too. Some companies don't have the means to produce the whole order so they outsource.

Might be the only person who loves the Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly palette. I also love the Totally Cute palette. I tend to reach for both quite often and I have plenty of palettes to work with. Glad they work for me!

Too faced is too gimmicky any more and I refuse to purchase their eye shadows anymore. They release all these "limited edition" and skimp on quality.

I like some of their palettes and don't mind some of the gimmicks but yes they're products are very inconsistent in quality. They also just got bought out by Estee Lauder in December so I don't anticipate the brand to have too many outstanding releases in the future. That last white chocolate chip palette they did looked really underwhelming.

Hi Tati! Why not do a video on beauty products that have long histories? I thought of this when I was using Guerlain terra-cotta bronzer. It is quiet interesting that it has been on the market for more than 20 years. There must be something unique for these long standing products.

I returned the Peanut Butter Jelly palette the same day, the shadows were not cutting it. I have most of the cardboard box palettes and those are fantastic!
BARE Same!!! The cardboard ones are SOOO good! Too bad they don't seem to sell them anymore....

Reviews like this are actually very helpful for those of us with seriously limited budgets! I like the fact that you don't throw out an entire brand because of one bad product, but I also appreciate knowing what not to waste my money on when I go to the store. Ty Tati!
As someone who rarely wears makeup but loves watching makeup videos--you're my favorite. I LOVE how with every pass, you give an alternative or compliment the brand in some other way. Nothing ever comes off as a diss from you, and by comparing to other, better launches, you're really demonstrating that you know your business! Damn!
Why don't you do a review on The Body Shop products that i have seen are so much requested in your channel? I've never requested myself but i swear i see comments requesting this in every one of your 3 or 4 previous videos!
Whoever Itis I've been wondering that too... I mean, surely The Body Shop has stores in California. It's strange because normally Tati is very responsive to requests. And I've been seeing requests for The Body Shop makeup reviews since last year.
i see at least 1 person asking this on every single video she posts. I'm sure she has seen the comments and since she hasn't yet maybe there's a reason why? i think everyone should stop bugging her about it
Whoever Itis Probably because you guys are not giving her enough time to do it? She posts 5 videos a week, and in every one of them there's tones of requests for the body shop makeup. It might give you feel that it's been requested for a long time, but it hasn't really. She needs time to not only buy but to try the products and give a proper review. It's not just a haul. Give her a break.

i love your honesty in all of your videos and how you encourage us to look for quality in all of the products that we choose to use! i personally love the peanut butter and jelly palette because i think the colors are really wearable and my shadows seemed to be really blendable and useful but it's interesting to hear why someone else doesn't like it!

Sorry Tati I know the cosmetics works different in everyone, but the Nikki's palette by Too Faced is really bad for all the fame and popularity that the palette received, for that price the wet n' wild shadows are infinitely better and you pay 75% less and is drugstore, the Appetite palette for me actually works perfect 🤔 but again, I know the products works different in everyone. Thank you for your advices. 💖

I bought the Nikki palette and love it. She might be on to something with the inconsistencies.
It isn't fishy, it's her opinion. I swatched the peanut butter pallet in Ulta, and I was not impressed. The colors were not that pigmented, and a couple of the mattes were even chalky. She personally really likes the Nikki's Too Faced pallet. So what...It's her opinion. She likes drugstore ones too, and hates other high end pallets. It is possible she got a bad pallet of the peanut butter...that happens too.

Since I'm from Germany I love seeing you do these what to avoid videos. I've been wanting and thinking about getting a Too faced palette but they are so expensive and so hard to get. So these videos are more useful because they can save me money.
I love these videos!!! It's truly so helpful to know which products aren't worth it. Saves money and me trying it and realizing it isn't all that great so no returns after! Please make more videos like this but with like foundations or bronzers!!!

I'm a huge collector of palettes and have never had an issue with any Balm palettes but I do agree about the Too Faced mini palettes the formula seems different from larger ones and I've gave away a lot of my smaller Too Faced ones. 😏

I love watching these kinds of videos, I also know that they're the kind that are the toughest to film. It's unnatural to want to talk about things that are negative but I think they're so necessary! Honestly, I hate when you tubers say stuff like "I feel bad saying this." Or " I didn't even want to mention this." It makes me trust them a little less because I don't want you to feel bad telling us the truth. That should be their main priority, not appeasing a company. You should want to tell us when a product just isn't good or not worth the money. You shouldn't be more comfortable lying to us or leaving out important information that's crucial to whether we spend money on something or now. It just irks me whenever a beauty UA-camr acts like it's not their job to be honest to us about a product. Like, that's the reason we all watch them! These companies were not there for you from the beginning, we were! You should be Loyal to us not them. Your career can succeed without companies giving you free stuff, it did before. But it's nothing without your viewers and fans.
That's just my rant for today. And it's not an attack on Tati. It's just something every beauty youtuber does.
They call these "negative reviews" but they are just as if nit more helpful than all the "you need this right now!" Reviews. It's just being truthful not mean or negative.

When Tati says she likes something, people bash her for it like the nikkie tutorials for example. And saying she's only saying that so she can get the PR packages, so she does say those things because there's only two sides, there's always gonna be someone taking it the wrong way
Honestly hearing people criticize you over and over is very stressful.
All the negativity can ruin your day.
Tati is only human, even though she gives an honest review it's hard to go against the majority.
What's worse is giving your honest feelings and having people calling you a liar.
I can understand why she's phrasing her thoughts in an indirect way.
I'm so obsessed with these videos, they stop me from wasting so much money and time! Keep them coming!

Please do a video on the best/worst bronzers! I have such a tough time finding one that isn't shimmery or looks red/like dirt on my skin!! (Inexpensive would be a plus, also.)

I already have to say the least :/ It doesn't really appear on my skin - as if I were using a light bronzer. Not sure why since I don't have too dark of skin. It does smell amazing, I'll give it that. Thanks anyway!
I also like the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil, and Benefit Hoola. If looking strictly for drugstore options I have heard that the elf bronzer is decent.
Kathleen Lights turned me onto the Butter Bronzer from Physicians Formula. It's a drugstore product so it is inexpensive and it smells like coconut, tropical heaven!!!

I am so tired of too faced and their packaging because my chocolate bars are great but like the holiday ones have been meh their packaging seems to be getting more and more like something made for young children and not like something I'd want displayed ony vanity the heart shaped compacts are cute and the same with the chocolate bar tins but like the little characters I don't appreciate ?? I love too faced but I'd like them to not try to do too much

Right?? It's like they focus so much on their packaging that they forget the quality of the shadows still matters... I'd prefer if they had a more "lolita" vibe in terms of the cuteness, yanno? Not gimmicky little characters or faces or anything but bows & lace & stripes & pink, etc. I just think that'd be really feminine & girly without looking like... Makeup for kids.

i have the balm appetite pallete and i love it? to me its so easy to blend like its already blends itself as you apply it, they're all so pigmented and the shimmery shades just glides on so creamy and well. it is literally my favorite eyeshadow pallete that i own. its okay if you dont like it but i find it so weird that your experience with the eyeshadows are completely different than mine.
HelinTheOwl agree! I just got it and LOVE it. But I really like the balm eye shadows. Maybe it's a preference thing.
I got the pallet for Christmas and I think it's ok. It's not my favorite but it's not horrible. My problem with it is the color fades a lot by the end of the day. I also had no idea the pallet folded all the way out. I feel like an idiot!! Lol

Eliada Laurent I bet the palettes that were sent as PR(plus 5%)were made at a different lab than those that are for sale.
I've heard there was a difference in the palettes sold online vs in store. I personally bought mine from online at Sephora the day it came out and honestly use it almost everyday and love it, but I did swatch it in store at Sephora and the quality was definitely not the same as the one I have at home.
Tati got a bad palette also. She had to keep going back to build up color which is something she usually gave cheaper palette's a lower rating for.
My niki x too faced pallette was an absolute disaster. As a college student spending that much money on a palette was insane. I was livid bc the palette was absolutely awful. I had such high hopes because I saw such amazing swatches but mine was dry as the dessert.

Yeah, I've never bought a high-end makeup product yet but I'm slowly working my way up and I know Too Faced isn't on my list. I've watched enough beauty youtubers to figure that out really quickly.

Elvyanae Caroline Hirons says they are good value for money, if a little basic. If you can spend a little more you will get more sophisticated formulations from their sister brand, Hylamide. I like simple formulations I can mix and match and play with as I like, though, so I've been using several things from The Ordinary and I'm really happy with the textures, absorption and results. I won't be repurchasing my Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair in favor of getting more and different things from Deciem's brands.
ladyflimflam, is there any particular product you have in mind that would be the replacement for EL's Advanced Night Repair? I am nearly out of that product and love the consistency but have also been curious about some of Deciem's brands/products.
