Day dream would be interesting. INFJ here.
I'm a mathematician I get into these deep problems.
My latest project has a very disturbing outcome.
Been running the probability of outcomes of our latest world situation.
I'm sad that behaviors of the populis isn't going to help.
Tell all that you love them.

Thunder Storm I’m a mathematician too! Do you teach? Or do you work in industry? You and I have a lot in common.

Fascinating! I definitely straddle the F/T line. I'm an INFJ, tested INTJ when I was young, but consistently F as an adult, the more aware and comfortable I became with myself. I still find myself consciously gravitating to T under stess or when in conflict. I think when I read/ feel a situation or person won't particularly benefit from or reciprocate my harmony, I switch to accuracy. It unnerves people who are used to my harmony because it can happen in a fraction of a second. Lol. Love your podcasts! Thanks!

@@jellyfishi_ yes, I can definitely see growth in the rear view much more clearly than I could at the time. But no, I'm definitely INFJ. I had very overbearing and unemotional parents who taught repression of emotions was ideal, except when it was in the service of their own or the family image. My first time testing was at 16 ish and I was answering with what I thought were the "right" answers. A very important learned survival skill, at the time. Turns out the "right" way and my way are a bit different. So yes, I've developed. I've frequently found line straddlers to be some of the most interesting people, though. Especially the ones the thinking/feeling ones. There's a very unique resonance for me. 😊

I feel like I am focused on the emotional impact slightly more than effectiveness component, but to people on the outside looking in, my behavior is often misinterpreted. I check in with my students, find out how they’re doing, ask for feedback, adapt and adjust to their needs, but ultimately, if what they want isn’t in their best interests, I will sometimes allow them to be uncomfortable (for example, I won’t adapt to the point where I think adaptation would hamper learning). I balance their needs for emotional support, encouragement, occasional tough love, and gently worded honest feedback and their needs to learn, to grow, and to attain mastery and skill that will benefit them in their next class. I self-identify as an INFJ, but I sense that others would classify me differently (often as an ENFJ or INTJ or even INFP because of the occasional disorganization of my desk). I feel that I’m an INFJ, but I wonder if I could be wrong.

      A simple litmus test:
If you've ever had a compulsion to tell someone the truth on behalf of someone else even though you know it's difficult and you hate conflict but you believe in necessary conflict in order to attain peace. Happens with strangers.
You often feel like you understand people based on a few interactions with them, know exactly what their problems are before even they do. (can be dangerously flawed in most people but in INFJ is correct a massive proportion of the time)

INTJs are like Star Trek Spock's Vulcan side, while the INFJs are like Spock when he's showing his human side (which is very rare, like the INFJ males).

The argument about INFJs being more abstract than INTJs is a change of definition of 'abstract.' Imagine I said that the definition of attractiveness for men and women is being as short as possible. According to me, short equals attractive. That is the new definition of attractive. You have to agree with me. Therefore people in the Netherlands are very unattractive. Imagine I could get a large number of the people in the typology community to agree with me on that. It wouldn't make it true.

I do not agree that what the group values, or what 'harmony' is for the friendships circle or broader social network is an attribute of "abstract". I hear this idea floated around a lot in the community (typology). I think it is a flawed argument. I think intuition and feeling are being confused. The implicit argument is intuition plus feeling equals intuition times intuition. And intuition plus thinking equals intuition light. If that is what you are deciding is the definition of intuition, this is a personal bias toward feeling as a combo item with intuition.

Can't wait to hear about the INFP vs. INTP, with INFP very concrete (being sarcastic here for absurdity) because they lack extroverted feeling, right? This is where the lack of logic of this argument is clearly exposed. Here's abstract for you, the airplane built with this implicit argument, that somehow extraverted feeling makes the INFJ more abstract than the INTJ (and Te almost makes the INTJ into a sensor) falls apart and the essence of the plane of this deeply flawed argument crashes and burns. Who would argue that the INFP is more concrete than the INTP? Compare the cognitive functions. This makes us look so stupid, talking about people as cartoon caricatures of cognitive functions based on false assumptions we make.
