    As an INFJ I admire Fi users a lot (especially when they master Te as well); I'm affected way too much when someone doesn't understand what I'm trying to say or passes a harsh judgement on me, no matter if it's accurate or not - I nearly always see it as a failure in how I communicated things, and ruminate on it a long time. Fi users seem to seize better that what matters doesn't have to be approved or agreed upon by other people, and their explanations to the outside world being more linked with Thinking than Feeling they get their point accross pretty well usually !

      Yeah, I've really had to work hard to connect with my inner moral convictions and not be easily swayed. To accept what IS out there but it doesn't have to make me wrong if someone doesn't understand me.

      I can't help but be affected how others feel about me or understand me. My entire life I have always focused on everybody being comfortable around me. I wished I could not care. Even assholes I care. If somebody judges me harshly. It just can unravel me. I have to figure out a way. To basically make them like me. Or understand me. It is ridiculous honestly.

      My INTJ girlfriend and me INFJ have fights like this😬. She used to tell me not to overwhelm her by my emotional rants and feelings-based analysis and thoughts. But usually I'm the one to end the fight by saying sorry and asking her for some improvement tips.
      Sometimes she says I'm smarter than her, and i think she's smarter than me. When she said I'm more kind, empathetic etc, i tried to be a badass. She turned outwardly softer and im getting more assured kinda vibe. I'm more like a man when I'm with her but I feel shy as well.

    This is a good video that makes the differences clear. Thinking about this video and one that I saw recently about personality subtypes or variants, it is clearer to me now that I am more likely to be an INTJ with a Harmonizing variant than to be an INFJ. I am more focused on what I know to be morally right than I am on what other people think is right. I am a creative person, but I find that I need a logical, orderly framework to be creative within. I am not the sort of person who plans obsessively, yet I'm practically incapable of being spontaneous. I might occasionally succeed in appearing spontaneous, but before I 'spontaneously' do something or suggest to my wife or friends to do something, I've checked ahead of time to make sure that what I want to do is at least a little bit sensible, feasible, affordable and doesn't conflict with potentially more important things in the future. :)
    Unlike a stereotypical INTJ, I am not argumentative and will instinctively back away from conflict or try to prevent it. I am more comfortable with getting along with people than I am with confronting them, even when I know that they are wrong. Internally, I am critiquing and correcting their assertions while externally appearing to accept the differences between us. I will only tell someone what my critique of their idea is if they ask me for it and I will often ask them ahead of time if they are sure that they want my honest assessment because there is a chance that they might not like all that they hear.

    My problem with this type of decision is always: which is the context? Do I have to make a decision regarding a group of people? Then yes, I'd consider their opinions and feelings about the problem, but if I feel my vision is better based on logic and objective facts, I'd follow my vision. Do I have to make a material decision that is influenced only by external factors? Then, who cares what people think? I'd do the right thing. Ok, I suppose this makes me more INTJ than INFJ. The problem with considering myself an INTJ is how this personality is depicted: detached, unempathetic, robotic. I'm not like that; I care for people and their feelings, but I have no problem expressing my opinion. I don't think everyone should agree with me, though. I respect other people's views as well.

    As a left handed person, the use of the term "right" really sticks in my craw. It has been used interchangeably with the term "correct." So, I stand in the breach. If it were possible to straddle that breach, I would be the embodiment of both. Life is dynamic.

    Great Video, thank you! I am fairly certain that I am INFJ. I did some deep dives into the cognitive functions and their stacking in order to confirm this, so it is for certain the right tendency for me. But I do have strong moral values at the same time, it is important to me what's right. But the way I go about it is pretty Fe. That's why for the longest time in my life I was scared to express or live by my values, because they might not connect to people in the outside world and others might think badly of me.

    This to me just made the puzzle even more complicated. We tend to use the words "right" and "correct" interchangeably, right? However, it does appear more formal if at the end of the sentence you ask for confirmation using the word "correct" than using the word "right." I agree with a poster below that you should define the words "right" and "correct" in the context of INFJ and INTJ. I would have thought that INTJs would be more obsessed with being correct while INFJs would be more inclined to be right side of things?

    • @yoshiperspectives4880
      @yoshiperspectives4880 3 роки тому +6

      What he means by "right" is "morally right" according to what they have deemed morally right. What he means by correct is a system or idea that accurately depicts or works with actual objective reality and is objectively TRUE, regardless if others may be morally against it. But myself as an INFJ would say that what is objectively correct IS what is the ultimate objective moral good. Because Correct=Truth and Truth=Good and Good=Morally Right by an unchanging and objective standard.

    • @thanj27
      @thanj27 3 роки тому +2

      @@yoshiperspectives4880 Thanks for making me think yet again :) What is right or morally right is what is deemed "morally right" by society. What is objectively true? Is the objective truth derived from using the scientific method (hypothesis making and testing, crafting of theories, analyses, and conclusions)? Paradigm shifts over the centuries show that the scientific method though brilliant, it is limited by the finite capacity of the human mind (knowledge) or the impossibility of knowing all that is out there and all that exists on earth and in the universe. So, what is deemed correct today may not be correct tomorrow or in a 100 years. Only Math with its perfect equations and proofs can really be objectively correct and yet is a mere a TOOL in the scientific method and in the search for truth to be correct. However, what is deemed morally acceptable by society may not always be good and therefore according to your logic pathway, if it is not good, then it is not morally right.
      So, despite being an INFJ, I am not sure that I would lean strongly either way since both approaches have their limitations. If you put the proverbial gun to my head and made me choose one, I would choose Option C, my own values.

    • @yoshiperspectives4880

      @@thanj27 me myself as an INFJ have actually found the existence of God to be the most logical and rational and scientific explanation for existence of the Universe and everything in it. Therefore I derive my understanding of morality from this God and think it is also objectively the truest sense of morality that makes the most sense when keeping all perspectives in mind. which means I do not just blindly accept all things called moral by this God but rather I have personally considered all of it and truly do believe that it makes very much sense, more sense than anything else I've heard or thought of from my own self, and therefore the best form of morality I have found in this world. That being said, I think that objective truth is only fully knowable to the individual at an experiential level after considering other perspectives of the same experience and properly putting it all together to form more of an eagle eye view of a situation to best understand it. It is in this fashion that I have found a way to act according to both my morale and my understanding of objective true reality. In this state of mind I can honestly say that I would died on my stance of objective truth and morale at the same time.

    • @thanj27
      @thanj27 3 роки тому +2

      @@yoshiperspectives4880 You are a kindred spirit then because I believe God is the author of truth, the alpha and omega of it. I however do not use the rational route to derive my belief in God although deriving belief through logic is also a great way. I know people who are like that and that route is very satisfying for them. Whatever works for you. As for me, I know it is true intuitively. People have asked me to prove the existence of God in a tangible, non subjective way. We can talk about intelligence design in the universe, the miracle of planet earth and how everything is perfectly aligned so nothing apocalyptic happens to us (at least not currently). It is all very fascinating.
      At the end of the day, when all is said and done, it is my faith and personal experience that sustains me.

    • @yoshiperspectives4880
      @yoshiperspectives4880 3 роки тому +2

      @@thanj27 My belief in God didn't start from rational, but as I matured the desire to live according to what's ACTUALLY TRUE became more pronounced in me. If you think about it, God either IS or ISN'T actually real, and if he IS actually real he has to be as real as everything else we know to be real. If you don't believe he is REAL and yet you believe in him, that's counterintuitive. If he is ACTUALLY REAL there is a tangible explanation that describes his existence in the real world whether people know the explanation yet or not. This tangible explanation and understanding of his experience is essentially rational. And not saying that science is the only way to have a tangible explanation of his existence, but I do think that science is getting closer to a tangible explanation although they don't even realize it. This includes fields like astrophysics with the idea of dark matter and dark energy, archeology, quantum physics, and things of that nature. My scientific approach to explaining the existence of God is not just the standard "intelligent design=designer" explanation although that goes a long way to show that believing in A God is the most rational and logical explanation for our existence and that to not believe in God is specifically irrational and would actually be deemed delusional if the same concept was put to any other subject. If I told you I believed a certain house in a neighborhood evolved from another neighboring house because they were similarly built, or that even the simplest children's book was written of it's own with no author, I would be deemed delusional and incapable of rational thought. In the same way, not believing in God is delusional and irrational. But there is more and more scientific explanation to actually positively explain his existence as apposed to only having an argument against the rational of not believing. Cheers!😊
