Loved the tip (@ 23:00) of leaving "Face Orientation" to ON and turning the Alpha for "Face Orientation Front" to ZERO. Don't know how many times I toggle Face Orientation ON/OFF in a day. Had nothing to do with Machin3 Tools, but very much appreciated the tip. Just make sure to resave the default start up file.
Dude, you have cost me a lot of money recently in addons as well as a couple of BB tutorials. Though I gotta say that it's 100% worth it and more. I only want to spend about 10-20% of my 3D time in Blender, my focus is Houdini and UE5 ... I just need to be able to hop into Blender sometimes to create basic models that aren't shit to use in those other apps, without having to re-learn a load of stuff every single time. Your workflow is finally getting me there, still a lot to learn but way smoother than struggling away with vanilla B.
I hear ya buddy. I'm trying to learn Blender and UE5 at the same time and it's confusing the shit out of me. I find myself using Blender Navigations in UE5 and UE5 shortcuts in Blender. Ahhhhhhh!
That is a great idea to set up "face orientation front" parameter with alpha = 0 in theme preferences and with having face orientation turned on all the shading artifacts(overlaps, intersections..etc) are highlighted in red, amazing!!!!)))) I've sorted shading problems which can not be recognized before.
This plug-in is a must-have. I use this for about a good year now. Especially the smart vert smart, Edge smart face, the cleanup and align tools. It way better than reaching for the shortcuts "k" for knife and "J" for join verts in edit mode for example. also the cursor and save pies in machin3 tools is great. Thank you for a really good tutorial 😊

Hello to you Ponte. Your video on Machin3tools is a gem. You explained to me in detail the menus that will make modeling easier for me. Once again thank you for your knowledge....
Thank you for the video. I have had Machin3tools for a while but never fully explored it. Can't believe how many productive features I was missing out on.
Thanks this is what is going to help me getting better at Blender. Watching your workflow and knowing how to apply it is so important, thank you for following up on a comment I posted not to long ago.
Your tutorials are dope. I have been watching your work for 6 months ish. What is amazing is when I go back and watch some of the more introductory videos there are still tips and tricks that I have missed. いつもありがとうございます。頑張っくださいね。
You actually do a much better job of explaining this incredible tool better than the creator, who is incredible as well, but lacks documentation skills!
Tyvm for this. Not for nothing, but given I use alot of the plugins you use, I'd be interested in your keybinds for things like PgUp for menus that don't make sense to me... I used ctrl + alt s, but meh... I definitely remember it being a different working keybind, and maybe from HOps. I found it: Alt V in HOps, but it's two clicks... over 100 years I'd have lost 51 mins!
Good stuff... buuuut most of the stuff is already integrated and you can just add it to your "Quick Favorites". This further lowers the amount of things on the "pie", and only having things that you want/need/use.
I'm learning machine tools by watching this video. By the way, what role does the location in the Affect only in Transform pie?? I live in a non-English-speaking area, so I'm looking at it with automatic translation, but I'm not sure exactly what it functions.
Hi, thanks for this mammoth tutorial video! One question, at 49:52 how did you get it to show axes for the cursor? Mine shows axes for objects, but not the cursor.
Views Pie Menu works kind of strange: when I press Smart View Cam for the first time, Blender creates object "Camera" at the point of my view. But when I press Smart View Cam next time in the next point of view, Blender does this: 1. Moves Camera to the new point of view. 2. Creates Camera.001 with coordinates (0,0,0) and angles equal to Camera. What am I doing wrong? Blender 3.4
Hi, trying to follow along with this tutorial. Not sure why, but when I try any of the key combinations using 'Alt' such as when you said Ctrl+alt selects all edges around the cylinder, Blender doesn't select edges as shown.Ctrl+alt seems to control viewport magnify instead of selection.Similarly 'Shift+alt' seems to control panning up and down in the viewport. How can I resolve this so that I can follow the tutorial minus frustration? Thanks
hey just baought the paid version, and when i try to download the addon it was ok. My problem is that when i try to put on the check mark an error pops up. can someone help?
I got into Machin3 Tools and loved it. But then decided to go back to almost a vanilla blender because of my youtube channel. Now days I'm only using a must have free plugins.
how do you get your blender to change to that blue colour pallet while selecting objects? I find the default colour palette annoying when working with high resolution displays and can't distinguish my edge selections
Hi Ryu, Awesome Tutorial as always. I have a question. Since I am calling from the future we are curently at Machinetools version 1.3.0 (I am using the DeusEX version) @54:19 you have the preferences screen but in this version the menu has changed. I do not have the "Toggle Cursor and Axis Drawing" under Cursor and origin Pie We also lost the "Toggle Custom view axis drawing" under views pie. I saw couple others asked the same question below. Currently your Transform Pie tutorial section is out of date due to a MachineTools update. The change log for 1.3.0 includes the following sentences. support Cursor axis drawing again -adapt how it is drawn based on whether the cursor itself is shown or hidden -only show cursor axes when HyperCursor gizmos aren't shown I do not know what a HyperCursor is but at the moment I have no option to show Cursors and axis. (at least I have not found one, Yet. I am still searching.) I will forward this to machinetools as well. Thank you so much for the work you put into these tutorials Without these I would not have had the courage to start using blender. It really reminds me of my Alias days where nothing made sense in the beginning and 6 months later we were flying..
Could be. I was really busy recently so havent checked the latest ver. Also I rarely use transform pie, force of habit I suppose. Yeah just shoot Machin3 an email, he loves replying to them.
@@PonteRyuurui Machin3's answer: "Ihave removed the cursor axes being toggled automatically when doing certain action in the Transform pie. You just toggle them manualyl in the Shading Pie. Personally, I have them enabled all the time." I had Shading Pie off thats why I could not find it but it was on by default. The interesting thing is the way your screen and mine were different. I never see the axis names. It may have to do with the new version, my setting or both. Anyways, I am going back to studiying :) Thanks Ryuu.
Hi Ryu. First thanks for the tutorials. Helped me a lot at work. I usually work with vanilla because I am used to it. Machine Tools is a saver combined with boxcutter hops. I see you have in edit mode a blue teal tint around the object. Is a custom theme or is somthing from an addon?!. I like more than vanilla yellow. Do you know a good retopo ramesh addon beside quadremesher. I need to prepare a dense mesh 1M faces and I need to decimate remesh and keep the form intact. Not for 3d print I work in architecture industry and some dense meshes are hard to unwrap for texturing.
The colour theme - watch this vid and follow the setup under prefs ua-cam.com/video/vwvL82OZRu4/v-deo.html / dont know of any other addon that would come even close to quadremesher.
Hey at around 41:08 you double tap Z to lock your movement to local orientation. My blender doesn’t do that. is that default blender? seems really useful
Thanks for this... but one question... shift-S (cursor to selected) how do you keep it from changing your transformation orientation to cursor, along with the transform pivot point? it somewhat makes the effort of using the hotkey redundant if you have to go and change both back. I do hope you have the answer... something I have overlooked. cheers
@@PonteRyuurui I watched at 24:32,46.52 and at 54:17 and found nothing... I did notice that when you select the far left (cursor to selected) (shift-s) your transform and transform pivot both do not change to cursor... which makes me think that its a bug. cheers
Not sure what MeshTools version Ryu was using but I think on the later ones you have to go in the Cursor and Origin pie General preferences and disable "Set Transform Preset when setting cursor". Otherwise it keeps resetting transform and pivot point to cursor (Not to be confused with rotation or location as he states above holding alt or ctrl) Im talking about the actual pivot point.
