this was a gem of a game! I never owned it, I only borrowed it and was very bad- I didn't finish any of the courses but I liked the little touches such as collecting flags, punting the football into the distance and splashing into water!
I've still got the disk for A500 and still going, C64 version is good as well, I was Commodore kid so never really played other versions beside C64 and A500
Much prefer this to the ST version. The animation is smoother and the sound and music don't sound like they are in an echo chamber. But to give them both credit, they are superior to the Spectrum version.
Problem is they tried too hard on the ZX Spectrum by first of all trying to create the huge size of the buggy which virtually covers the entire view of the road, too bold of a move, they should've made the buggy smallet like the other versions.
@@ZEUSDAZ Agreed. if they had went with the smaller buggy it might have been great. With games getting remakes lately maybe someone will attempt to do that for the Speccy version.
Hey Zeus! Yankee's got a question for ya: why's the SNES so underrated in the UK? Even more when compared to the Mega Drive? It was a technological achievement.
As a Brit I can tell you that the SNES was VERY popular in the UK. The NES, however, was practically unknown (we were all about 8-bit micros in the early ti mid-80s)
@@SaMiK81 On this particular occasion it's not a nostalgia thing, believe me. I had both and the C64 version put the Amiga's to shame because it was way smoother, responsive and fun overall.

Same for me. I forgot this game until I heard the intro music then think "OMG! I played this game so much!"

ST version was good too but yeah the Commodore brothers got the best ones imo.
I'd still have it too except whilst at Uni my folks gave our Amiga and all the games away to a family friend who I believe no longer has it.

I could swear that the football harms you, but all I see is, that you get 2000 extra points. Is it maybe substracting from your time?

Very nice, but i always expect amiga version to be lightyear ahead of c64, and this one is not. Its better of course, but not that much.
Personally i prefer c64 version. That could be however because c64 version was first i played and nostalgia is often blinding.

wow ... I never thought that I would say that one day, but the Atari ST version has the way better sound and music.
