Imagine working in a gas station for a year, buy a signature guitar of your hero, then go to music school wishing you can work as a musician for a living and after you winning a couple grammys for your music 2 years later you play the exact same guitar in your's hero's inductee in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Jimmy Vaughan, his brother. What a man.

Had it for almost 6 years now, and it's so special as a kid who started playing guitar because my mom had the trio set from where the light is on in the car for my whole childhood, and I wanted to be able to play like mayer. Love the hell out of the thing.
When guitar is your passion, every single mark on the guitar has a memory tied to it. The intentional ones, the drunken drops, everything becomes sentimental. I've got a few bruises on my strat as well, hopefully one day I'll be able to talk about my travels in relation to that guitar as well... Awesome video John.

It is the guitar John played a million awesome songs with.. all those rare tapes and all. Its the one which made him famous. This is the real John Mayer guitar. And now I'm seeing it up close in HD almost like in person. John is talking to me and feel like I'm in the cameraman's point of view. THis was magical to a fanboy like me.
ahh, I'm so glad I finally heard the story of that guitar through the horse's mouth. It's tough to know the truth when people tell stories about guitar legends, I'm glad John took his time to give us the story of this strat.

Everyone is excited about the guitars but I'm pretty sure I had that same photo booth alien sticker from 96 that was taken of a friend and I. Now that's rare! lol

Yeah he spent a summer at a gas station saved every paycheck bought the SRV sig strat...very noble. at some time I assume he replaced the pickguard to the tortoise shell to make it "his own" but other then that it still has the LH tremelo and all the other little things the SRV strat has. If it aint broke don't fix it! way to go john. He even engraved his initials on the back like SRV did...and I'm pretty sure the top of his sleeve tatoos is "SRV" and was one of his first tattoos.
I caught the left hand trem right away 😉........that's cool he was really into SRV when he started out like most are. What's even cooler is he's one of the few who really found his own sound and didn't stay on the SRV bandwagon. When he wants to he can pull from that bag though 🤘

The SRV strat has the hotter texas special pickups in it, and has a lot of mid range. The KWS strat has graph tech saddles, which is helpful for eliminating string breakage at the saddles. It also has jumbo frets which is great for styles that involve a lot of bending. And the John Mayer strat is modeled after the strat in this video. It has the big dipper pickups, which has scooped mids. You should try them all out and see which has the best feel and tone for you. Whatever you prefer.
@@sinjon nope. It's most probably not the camera but the person using it. He was using a shallow depth of field without the skills of manual focusing. Professional filmmakers or even just videographers don't use autofocus on these kinds of shots or even on most shot.
