i put him at the very top. BEST of our generation, ONE of the best of all time regarding rock, blues, pop
Hearing him flesh out Wildfire was dope.
My favorite summer song, that and Natty Dread
1:05 "I wanna go to this world where that music is taking me"
Bless that world because that world has given us some of the greatest music of this generation
From min 0:58 to 2:00 is pure magic, IMHO
he is a music nerd deep inside but somehow so cool outside
I love to see the process how good music is being created.

4:14 - "Oh... this must be one of those "guitars" that have heard people talking about".
2:04 mark ...Höfner Jazzica I just bought one of these in mint condition. Love it
Raw
My favorite part: "That's a nice sing songy..."
7:05 magical
at 1:58 he plays the chord prog from Moving on and Getting Over. Interesting to hear how things can get recycled and repurposed years after.
Celebrating musical journey from MJ to JM.
(michael jackson to john mayer)
At 6:23 he plays a copy of Eric Clapton's Gibson ES-335 'Cherry Red'. It has a 'Hare Krishna' stamp on the machine head.
+ColinStachowski I believe its one of Claptons, given to John by Eric himself
Travis!
Can't help but wonder what he's doing in front of that nord electro
Where's part II????
0:24 can’t say Travis Scott sample
Anyone know where I can find the tabs for the part of I Will Be Found (Lost at Sea) at 0:25?

I like how it's supposed to be "Whom You Love," not "Who You Love." Whatever. What's life without whimsy?
Lol
perhaps it's short for "who do you love?" ?
I really ask myself where is John Mayer, all I hear in the album is super simple country music. In this video they show so much high tech gear, guitars, effects, amps, consoles... And in the end the album is so simple with almost nothing in it. Feels like it could have been recorded is simple home studio, with one acoustic guitar, drum loop machine, and one simple bass.
Odpr Jo With experience you can say so much more with so much less... experiencing beauty can feel very simplistic anyway ...don't you think that's cool?
+Odpr Jo I feel like its simplicity is what makes the album amazing. Sure something like Continuum was great because of the guitar skill presented in it etc, but being able to do simplicity well is a great thing! :)
wow you've never sold an album in your life. never recorded one either. it's much more difficult than it seems
+Odpr Jo Years ago he said he wanted to go to less guitar oriented music, hence the general theme of this album, he has an album coming out this year he's recording the same crew from continuum though, so expect great things.
I personally think who you love could of sounded so much better like it did in this video but it sounds WAY to popish in the full version. It's a shame.
+Ben Doherty agreeeeeeed holy shit
+Colin Weeks I mean all he did was add some guitar riffs, some acoustic guitar to fit the context of the album, and collaborate with katy perry. Aside from that it's the same. Maybe katy's voice is what makes it sound popish? Which makes sense since she's a pop star.
+Chinchillupa Guy the album version is just very glossed over and smoothed out. This is way more raw and in my opinion, just sounds better. But yes I think while collaborating with Katy perry he wanted it more poppy but hey it's not my music it's his.
what kind of guitar is he playing when listening to "who you love"?
Dominic Gray it's a deusenberg, not sure what model though
4:50 and that's why this guy will never marry
Because he bought a guitar?
