this showed up on my recommended randomly but i actually really enjoyed it! you've got a good sense of humor (almost cried tears when the background went byebye) and this was super fun to watch come together!! good work, hope more people see it! now you have another sub :) also that gradient trick is insane i need to try it (once i understand wtf is happening)
omg thank you so much! xD glad you enjoyed it :D was the gradient part confusing? ^^' it's basically low opacity "not draw" edge process for the tool on overlay or smth and low opacity for the map on normal/softlight/overlay or smth. oh if you're talking about the shading only method it's a normal (65-85 ish opacity) raster layer that you're gonna use to shade on top of an all white layer all within a multiply folder that is clipped by a gradient map.
yes, unfortunately, to an extent. it depends what style you want to go for though. like you saw in the video, i didn't completely half-ass (like i didn't use shade assist) and although it was faster to softly "dab" some colors down for shading, i thought that look suit the webtoon better than soft/hard shading delicately, regardless of what i prefer. honestly, i focus on the line art rather than anything else because if the line art looks good, it's kinda hard for the rest to look shit. hope that helped ^^
Finally someone who uses clip studio paint pro and not ex! Thank you for the tips but what did you mean by making a different folder for 3d backgrounds because they are heavy? You mean saving them outside of clip studio? Also it doesn’t look like you are using pressure sensitivity in your drawings (I might be wrong) maybe it could help you with your lineart issues? It’s just supposed to be a cleaner version of the sketch you shouldn’t have to think about how much lines to use. Thanks for the video!
eyy another pro user! hey sorry for the really late reply ;~; i think i said make a different file for 3d backgrounds (new project) instead of dragging them into the long webtoon canvas ur using bc it's heavy file size-wise so it might get laggy. i shoulda said project instead of file, that's confusing, sorry bout that. i do use pressure sensitivity but not a lot bc having less is easier for ppl who struggle with line width variation. ppl who can't use a digital pen like a real pencil have trouble getting the width variation to be where you want it in the drawing which leads to messier line art so it's easier and faster to line with barely any pressure sensitivity cause u don't have to worry about that. it's also easier on the hand cause u don't apply much pressure. so a lot of webtoon original artists use a very small brush size w/ very little pressure sensitivity so it's hard to tell. i suck at line art cause i think im just really bad at tracing my lines over. i keep simplifying it so it looks worse cause altho it's cleaner it has less detail. i think i improved since then tho. np glad u enjoyed the video thanks so much for watching! gosh i'm looking back at it now and the audio quality is god awful how did u guys sit through this.
Lolol. i have the same problem with the fill tool. I mostly just ignore them but if it is really noticeable, I fill it in manually, which is such a pain. I also wanna know how to fix them.

Wow, this has so much information. I hope this is shared with a ton of people. It's really helpful (and funny too!)
This video had me cackling loool, the bench disappearing got me. Really love webtoon vids, keep up the good work :3
lol glad to see you enjoyed. thank you :D
Thank you very much bro!
this is such a cool idea!!
Do you think these shortcuts sacrifice the art quality?

Oh very, especially if used as a shortcut instead of an add on.

OMG FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE SAID IT I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME LOL. I don't think there's a way to fix it yet. I did suggest it to Celcys but who knows xD
great tipss
thank you
The bgm is too distracting
