Altus Good morning..Unlike most mornings when I just keep forcing myself back to sleep, I awaken at 5 and started making plans for this day and all the rest..this music resonates at a higher frequency than what most listen to..my cabin is a few hundred yards away from the road but every day I here a vehicle driving by with the worst sounding rap "music" and it brings me anger and hatred, but I'm going to stop allowing it and anything or anyone to control me..if billions of humans would listen to this music instead of the lower chakra type, there would be an awakening like never before..ok enough of that rant..there is rain in the forecast and most times that would make me feel dreary and really start missing my dad and some a couple of beautiful black labs named Magic and Nina...we raised them from puppies and we were the best of friends..they are gone from this realm now and most times I feel that this life is the finale destination..and of course all the reason to get drunk, but this music is touching my mind and telling my wounded self that unconditional love cannot be destroyed by death..and that somewhere across the universe, my loved ones are awaiting me..I'm going to focus on that, even when my programmed self says otherwise..so instead of seeing the rain as a dark and cold event, I will rise above and gaze at the beautiful Earth and notice the tiny raincloud passing over my cabin..and realize that the sun is shinning bright..ok, I got to get busy living or get busy dying..its no longer a choice..take care my friend.
I live in a downstairs apartment & this helps me not hate my upstairs neighbor for constantly wearing hard shoes on a hardwood floor. I can sleep a bit & relax a bit. So thank you.

This is very fluid, with a beauty that sounds less like synths and more like a natural resonance. It's different but I would rate it on par with both "How to Disappear Completely" and Steve Roach.....if the wind could be transformed into ambient music, this would be how it sounds.

Just a question for Altus. When you create a new piece of music, do you always send it to the copyright office to be copyrighted it before releasing it?
Copyright is technically automatic as soon as you create something, but there's no good tools offered to exercise that right. The only reason to register your works to a copyright office is if you ever needed to prove it in court. If you don't plan on spending money trying to sue someone in court for infringing on your copyright, then registering is pointless IMO. I'd only recommend it if you were producing music for a major label.

I've listened to ambient music since the 1990's...and one of my all time favorites has always been Steve Roach. But honestly, your Innerspace album is up there with the best. I prefer the flowing ambient music over those with beats [though they have their place], or the "psychedelic" style. Well done on this work!
This question is too difficult to answer in a UA-cam comment, and there's actually no correct answer. What works for one person won't work for another. What I can provide is a list of software used to create this album: Composition: FL Studio Mastering: Studio One VST Instruments: Omnisphere 2 NI Absynth 5 Strum GS-2 NI Razor VST Reverb: Eventide UltraReverb ArtsAcoustic Reverb I hope that points you in a direction that helps you.

@@DRayL_ Regarding the VST plugins, you just install them on your computer and in most cases, they should appear automatically in FL Studio. You may need to rescan the VST folders in FL Studio for them to appear. The only Arturia product I've used is the MicroBrute, and it's a fine synth. I've never used Ableton Live so I can't comment on it. I know a lot of people who love it though. :)

Just a question for Altus. When you create a new piece of music, do you always send it to the copyright office to be copyrighted it before releasing it?
Copyright is technically automatic as soon as you create something, but there's no good tools offered to exercise that right. The only reason to register your works to a copyright office is if you ever needed to prove it in court. If you don't plan on spending money trying to sue someone in court for infringing on your copyright, then registering is pointless IMO. I'd only recommend it if you were producing music for a major label.

@@altusmusic_ca As a side note, I purchased this work from you off bandcamp a while ago. I've listened to ambient music since the 1990's...and one of my all time favorites has always been Steve Roach. But honestly, your Innerspace album is up there with the best. I prefer the flowing ambient music over those with beats [though they have their place], or the "psychedelic" style. Well done on this work!

What is the best setup if I want to do my own ambient music?
This question is too difficult to answer in a UA-cam comment, and there's actually no correct answer. What works for one person won't work for another.
What I can provide is a list of software used to create this album:
Composition: FL Studio

Are the VST instruments and reverb, that you listed, products to download into FL Studio?
Also, what do you think of the Arturia [with Ableton Live Lite]?
@@DRayL_ Regarding the VST plugins, you just install them on your computer and in most cases, they should appear automatically in FL Studio. You may need to rescan the VST folders in FL Studio for them to appear.
The only Arturia product I've used is the MicroBrute, and it's a fine synth.
I've never used Ableton Live so I can't comment on it. I know a lot of people who love it though. :)
