Song 3: Eternity: Astronomer Carl Sagan's speech: The spacecraft was a long way from home. I thought it would be a good idea, just after Saturn, to have them take one last glance homeward. From Saturn, the Earth would appear too small for Voyager to make out any detail. Our planet would be just a point of light, a lonely pixel hardly distinguishable from the other points of light Voyager would see: nearby planets, far off suns. But precisely because of the obscurity of our world thus revealed, such a picture might be worth having. So, here they are: a mosaic of squares laid down on top of the planets in a background smattering of more distant stars. Because of the reflection of sunlight off the spacecraft, the Earth seems to be sitting in a beam of light, as if there were some special significance to this small world; but it's just an accident of geometry and optics. There is no sign of humans in this picture: not our reworking of the Earth's surface; not our machines; not ourselves. From this vantage point, our obsession with nationalisms is nowhere in evidence. We are too small. On the scale of worlds, humans are inconsequential: a thin film of life on an obscure and solitary lump of rock and metal. Consider again that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it, everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you've ever heard of, every human being who ever was lived out their lives. The aggregate of all our joys and sufferings; thousands of confident religions, ideologies and economic doctrines; every hunter and forager; every hero and coward; every creator and destroyer of civilizations; every king and peasant, every young couple in love; every mother and father; hopeful child; inventor and explorer; every teacher of morals; every corrupt politician; every supreme leader; every superstar; every saint and sinner in the history of our species, lived there - on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner. How frequent their misunderstandings; how eager they are to kill one another; how fervent their hatreds. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that in glory and triumph they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity - in all this vastness - there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. Like it or not, for the moment, the Earth is where we make our stand. It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. It underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the only home we've ever known. The pale blue dot.
Thank you for writing it out, there's no way to hear it clearly in the song. To which, I feel is a disservice to the listeners. That is some serious soul nooch right there, love Carl Sagan.

Edgaras Zakevičius is truly a genius in regards to how he weaves magical futuristic cosmic psychedelic melodies into his stellar compositions. His influences such as Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, others in that genre, are taken to a whole new level and universe. If you like "Light Years," highly recommend checking out "Between The Rings." Simply brilliant and universally deep.
Stellardrone is properly psychedelic. Leaving it to play in the background, you can feel it shifts your frame of thought after a while. Not as strong as mushrooms, of course, but it's definitively there. Magnificent achievement!
Lie down on the couch and close your eyes. Enjoy the music completely. You are in the universe and feel the electrical energy flowing through you, to your fingertips, to your toes. Everything starts to tingle ... This is magic, you are in the universe...feeling one with everything! Stellardrone ..... this is so great!
This is a very dumb thing to say. Even if you are not in space, you are still in the universe. You mean that you are in space. Also, electrical energy doesn't flow in space, in that case you are likely heavily intoxicated and managed to... just forget it.

Most of the music I listen to since about 1987 has been ambient or space music. It is the perfect background music for inducing creative thinking. I love it.
Yes, this type of ambient I was a huge fan of seems like 87-91 were the best years most of my collection is from this era. That and a tiny little show Musical Star Streams which played on the radio every Sun. Didn't last long but at least it's still on the internet. I actually wrote a letter to the host of the show and he wrote me back! LOL. This cd reminds me of those days. @@Moondra3 Hey there! Could you give me an exanple of 80s ambient music? I'm 17 and would love to hear something like that. I thought this genre was new.
There is something about this kind of music that gives me an odd feeling, like anticipation, beginning of a journey :) - your finally waking up, what a time to be alive
I am consciously astro-travelling into oblivion, listening to this master peace of incredible sound. Stellardrone is so soulful, please don't ever stop orchestrating your magic!
Wow this is some pretty amazing stuff. Reminds me of the great ambient/electronica musicians like Michael Stearns, Klaus Schultze, Brian Eno, John Serrie and Steve Roach. Really well done piece, deep and spacious, with just a hint of catchy melody here and there as well as some underlying melancholy. Selective rhythms and occasional minimalist approach - as if it's the main theme of somebody watching the night sky and dreaming of traveling between the stars some day... but not yet. Maybe not even in this life, but it's still nice to imagine such a trip, while looking at the majesty above our heads, when the sun goes down. It's like the soundtrack to HST's orbital journey, starring with its single eye into the depths of our universe. Very inspirational music.
This is is the music I love. It simply puts me in a reflective meditative mood. I cannot help but think of the nature of reality and my place within it.
I have the exact same reaction to this kind of music, and I just love it. ^^ It' s funny, because I can feel ephemeral and insignificant giving the spatio temporal magnitude of the universe, but at the same time, this same feeling gives me the strength to overcome my limitations, so that I can make something significant while I´m here :)
Ephemeral in mortal form, indeed. I get a feeling that I belong to something beyond this body and human thought. Once this corporeal form ceases to exist I will still be a part of something far greater and infinite.
Sonia Soma I echo your words. This is just one moment of our existence, when our perception of reality is limited by our neural structure, language and beliefs. Once we are set free from our physical shackles, only then we can truly understand the nature of the universe.
There's something intensely spiritual about this music (especially the first two tracks). It makes me well up with emotion and want to speak in tongues or something. Very unusual feeling. Hard to put it into words. Love it!
this music lets me feel the life pulse of the universe, and embrace this truth... Wisdom is knowing I AM NOTHING, Love is knowing I AM EVERYTHING. And between the two, my life moves.
This album is amazing. This one came outta nowhere, I frequently listen to droid bishops into the blue and it linked to this one. Bringing back good memories with this one. I was hoping to listen to something exactly like the first few songs and had no idea who played that kind of stuff, I feel loved to have been able to listen to this! Words can't describe how much I enjoyed this one... I just basically laid back and let my ear pussy get licked by these amazing sounds
The bible says at the beginning where light and darkness but i think at the beginning there was SOUND cuz Sound transports energywaves. And a lightbeam is another form of energy and wave.
at the beginning there couldn't have been only light and darkness. only darkness, as light requires matter to be created by (suns, heated gasses) and needs temperature to exist. no i think family guy, a yes tv show, explains the universe the best. something created the universe so the universe could create what created the universe so what could create the universe created the universe and so on. what started the chain will remain unknown for now but yes if light exists wich travels in waves but is made of particles (photons) then in theory sound should also exist AS LONG there is matter for sound to travel trough. because in space, you can be heard actually. but in vacuüm noone can hear you. though space sounds created by magnetic fields are also fun if translated to sound waves and sounds the same if sped up wich is a strange phenomenom a question just popped up, if in religion god created earth and the universe, who created god? would it be the same equasion as above, but "it" is reffered to as "god"? god created the universe so it could create god so god could create the universe and so on
@@jevry4307 who said what created the universe has to follow the rules of the universe? how do you know that there isn't a "place" where 1+1 is not 2? how do you know that there isn't a "place" where there isn't a "1" or a "0" to begin with?
I haven't smoked pot for maybe 5 years now. Completely gave the stuff up. Yet this music makes me feel like I'm stoned without even touching the stuff. Such beautiful m, reflective music. Wish I'd discovered this all those years ago
Just an epic album, in one guy's opinion. I like it so well, I listened to a couple of other Stellardrone albums, but I didn't like them as well as this one. This is one of those special albums in which there simply are no duds in the line up. Love it!
I'm an energy beam, light in waves, running in an infinite and mysterious reality, I'm dust and shadow, the circle who are about to complete, I'm the life who fights every second for the chance to live and testify once more, I'm the collective consciousness who chose to forget for the pleasure to know again, I'm a god in movement, I am what I am, and together we are us.

Truly amazing work Edgaras has done. Five albums (that I've seen so far), and in every one he transcends mere "standard" music themes, and even outshines and outclasses hundreds of other "ambient spacey"-type music & effects producers. You hear some of the "new-agey" stuff some people put out and they're just slurries of effects and usually vaguely chaotic collections of notes masquerading as "music". The Stellardrone series holds to the structures of music, slowing and calming them, and then carefully using gentle special effects in measured ways, builds all of the parts of each song into a steady rhythm that soothes the mind, calms the mood, and gently transports your perceptions into another realm...... as if you're being gently guided into the ethereal realms of space-time by passing through a stardust-translucent fog of concurrent realities. Some songs can raise you to a state of bliss; others quietly enhance your self-perception. ALL of them leave you a little bit changed . . . . every time. I so wish he would bring another set of albums out. The psyche of the planet needs more of this emotionally transporting music.
Gosh stellar drone is amazing every song seems to tell of a different site a different wonder and some different lifestyles. A story of those we have not seen but all of which look up at the sky and ponder the question "What's out there?" Super well done I like it xD

Excelente. I create a song whit those words. The pale blue dot. A genious.
💖 present I infinitely cherish🙏
Thank you for writing it out, there's no way to hear it clearly in the song. To which, I feel is a disservice to the listeners. That is some serious soul nooch right there, love Carl Sagan.
Oh, yes. Thank you for reminding me Carl Sagan, Pale Blue Dot.
I'm feeling like I'm suspend in space with this music.
Reading that gave me serious goosebumps. Thank you.
This album is so hypnotic, dark, and trance like. Very minimalist and I love it. It's amazing music to work to when you're at the computer!

Но красота в космосе не сама темнота, а свет, звезды, планеты, галактики которые светятся, они дают красоту на черном небе. Темнота дает контраст =)
Listening to this feels like drifting through the infinite, where silence is louder than any voice, and the stars become your only companions. It’s like feeling both the weight of loneliness and the comfort of being part of something vast, ancient, and beautiful...
Absolutely fantastic music , I have got my headphones on in the garden at 8am with a woodland at the back of the garden, feel so relaxed and ready to face another day.
This artist is out of this world !! This is far beyond professional..This is magic!
I know this came out ages ago but let me tell you, this album connects with me and I love the work you do Stellardrone. Thank you and keep doing what you're doing.
This album changed my life. Looking at the album cover, it started to turn in unison with the music. The atmospheric hazy smoke down below started flowing out and suddenly I found myself there, in a canyon watching the stars above me spin in motion slowly. All of this while sitting in my bedroom, calk it an out of body experience, but it was obe of the most beautiful experiences in my and im grateful. :)
Listening to this was a transcendental experience. Thank you.
I'm not usually a person that likes listening to music while running, but for some reason this makes me want to go running and listen to it.
I listen to phaeleh - blue night every single time before I run. Sorry for the late comment
Stellardrone is properly psychedelic. Leaving it to play in the background, you can feel it shifts your frame of thought after a while. Not as strong as mushrooms, of course, but it's definitively there. Magnificent achievement!
Agree! It's high frequency music. It'll help lift yours up a little bit. Wonderful stuff
@@seawolf9616 You shouldn't take it so literally.

If I were making a new sci-fi game or film, I don't think I could ask for better than Red Giant as the music for some immense reveal. That's the sound of awe.
true that
Mr Stellardrone... If only you knew what me and my lady get up to with your music blasting out. Wonderful album! Made such an amazingly epic night even more amazing. Keep up the brilliant work! Thank you.
Andrew Adams Word!!! This is great love makin’ music. We break out the candles, hot oils, no kids around, and go until we’re too starving to continue. Right on man! Those moments make life worth living.

Love the comment !
This is by far my fav stellardrone release. Keep up this more uptempo groovy stuff. Full of melody.
I'm a primary school teacher and our current topic is space. I've been using these albums as background music while the children do extended work. They love it and so do I!
Just think one of those kids may listen to one of those tracks and they'll remember you! and those lessons..

Absolute amazing! My favourite: 2. Airglow. After 2times listening here i bought the album at bandcamp in WAV-format and burned it to CD to feed my stereo-System. Unbelieveable details what you can hear then…. No compare to the bad UA-cam-Quality!
Just chillin out, writing endlessly in the middle of the night......*sighs*
Have a good one!

@@Moondra3 Hey there! Could you give me an exanple of 80s ambient music? I'm 17 and would love to hear something like that. I thought this genre was new.
There is something about this kind of music that gives me an odd feeling, like anticipation, beginning of a journey :)

Amen!!!
You are the nature and reality that you're in :)
I have the exact same reaction to this kind of music, and I just love it. ^^
It' s funny, because I can feel ephemeral and insignificant giving the spatio temporal magnitude of the universe, but at the same time, this same feeling gives me the strength to overcome my limitations, so that I can make something significant while I´m here :)
Once we are set free from our physical shackles, only then we can truly understand the nature of the universe.
dimitrius pramio , do you have any artists that you'd like to share? I enjoy Carbon Based Lifeforms too.
There's something intensely spiritual about this music (especially the first two tracks). It makes me well up with emotion and want to speak in tongues or something. Very unusual feeling. Hard to put it into words. Love it!
another night, this comes on youtube randomly, and i smile for the next 45 minutes while reading the things that i do.

I love this one to the bone! Light Year is best of them, I didn't find a better one so far. Kudos to the composer.

This is my favourite work background music these days. Fantastic - in its truest sense.
Eternity is one of the great ambient tracks.
One of my favorite albums I've heard in a long, long time.
Maybe the best I've ever heard...
Listening to it with headphones while kayaking is the most relaxing and amazing experience!
Kayaking at night, under the clear sky, with the endless universe above you?
that sounds amazing! mine was just during the day.
The bible says at the beginning where light and darkness but i think at the beginning there was SOUND cuz Sound transports energywaves. And a lightbeam is another form of energy and wave.
at the beginning there couldn't have been only light and darkness. only darkness, as light requires matter to be created by (suns, heated gasses) and needs temperature to exist. no i think family guy, a yes tv show, explains the universe the best. something created the universe so the universe could create what created the universe so what could create the universe created the universe and so on. what started the chain will remain unknown for now
but yes if light exists wich travels in waves but is made of particles (photons) then in theory sound should also exist AS LONG there is matter for sound to travel trough. because in space, you can be heard actually.
but in vacuüm noone can hear you.
though space sounds created by magnetic fields are also fun if translated to sound waves
and sounds the same if sped up wich is a strange phenomenom
a question just popped up, if in religion god created earth and the universe, who created god?
would it be the same equasion as above, but "it" is reffered to as "god"?
god created the universe so it could create god so god could create the universe and so on

That is incredibly beautiful.

Red Giant is truly amazing- If this track doesn't set the mood for good things to come, nothing does. Totally elicits emotion.......
This stuff is the greatest! Thanks Stellardrone for creating your magnificent songs and sharing them with us!
Comet Halley, brilliant stuff! IMHO the best Stellardrone album!
Great music to listen to while reading a sci fi novel or sci fi art book. 😎
Stellardrone is the best "space" synth music I know of. I've been listening to this since it came out a few years ago. Brilliant stuff!
Great 'classical' space ambient. This is one of my favourite type of music. And I hear voice of Carl Sagan in it, my mate. What can be better...
Gosh stellar drone is amazing every song seems to tell of a different site a different wonder and some different lifestyles. A story of those we have not seen but all of which look up at the sky and ponder the question "What's out there?" Super well done I like it xD
Very, very good! Perfect match of the mood, the sound, the artwork and the genre!
