A food tip: If you go to Monastiraki Square and you like souvlaki or kebabs. For authentic souvlaki you want to go to "Κώστα" it's a little hole in the wall but it's from 1946 and it's the best souvlaki in Athens. There's no gyro there. Kalamaki (pork skewer) or mpifteki (long burger kind of). Get them with everything!! The tomato sauce it's money!!! No tzatziki there. Then...for kebabs you want to go to Thanasis!!! Don't listen to the norm "it's a tourist spot" bla bla....it's the best trust me! Enjoy Greece!!🇬🇷💙
@zeikerd don't listen to that crap. Thanasis has the best kebab in town. It's not his fault he's located in a popular tourist spot. Same with the other big names they have a product that's always consistent for a reason. Κωστα near by and O Kwstas in Syntagma it's the same.

@@agirlandherpassport I have! I traveled with a group a few years ago, but everything was organized by a travel agency... I wish I had paid better attention!. I have found a Ktel bus from Athens to Kyllini but the website does not give an approximate arrival time and i'm hoping it synchronizes with the ferry to Zakynthos😟.
Any Greeks here?? Please chime in!
I guess a 3-day pass is good to go all the way to Piraeus as many times as you want for 3 days?
Yes!
Well done. I would like to see the inside of a Metro car.
Is there a luggage locker/ storage at the airport?
Yes! I am not sure where they are but know they exist.
@@agirlandherpassport, I finally found the info "Care4bag" I've watch this video multiple times now! :)
Thanks for the video, it's helpful for me as I am coming to Athens tomorrow Saturday 11/26. I am still not sure how to dress for the weather.
You’re welcome. Layers are the best thing now as it can be warm during the day but cool at night.
Sorry can you tell me how long it takes with the bus and metro to get to Piraeus
The metro would be about and hour. The bus is about an hour to and hour and a half.
Can you tell me where I need to get off in PIRAEUS for our cruise ship and is there hotels in that area
The bus doesn’t go to that part of the port. You will need to get another bus. I don’t know the number though. There are hotels in that area.
Thank you ! I’m having a problem of trying to figure out where we need to go and stay once we arrive in Greece , we will be flying in two days early
@@Habibi1980 I would stay in the center of Athens, not near the cruise terminal. Getting to the cruise terminal is about a 20-minute taxi ride away that a good hotel can arrange for you in advance. This way you aren't taking a taxi to Athens every day. The cruise port isn't near the metro, so this is the best option in my opinion.
What is the first metro from Athens to the Airport on Sundays?
A food tip:
If you go to Monastiraki Square and you like souvlaki or kebabs.
Thanks! O Thanasis is so great!
Thanasis is a tourist spot though.
@zeikerd don't listen to that crap.
Thanasis has the best kebab in town.
It's not his fault he's located in a popular tourist spot.
Same with the other big names they have a product that's always consistent for a reason.
Κωστα near by and O Kwstas in Syntagma it's the same.
Thanks for the great info. We are coming the first time soon with a family. Do you have any thoughts about safety with metro? We heard stories but your video makes it seem like not a problem
The metro is known for pickpocketing so if you will have lots of kids and suitcases to keep track of, then I would say take the bus or a taxi. Here is my video on Safety in Greece. ua-cam.com/video/rSLBN6jl0Vk/v-deo.html
do they still force people to wear the face covering in the metro and bus or is it voluntary?
They aren’t enforcing it but technically it’s required.
@@agirlandherpassport youtube keep deleting my comment when I talk about the scam...of face nappies (appreciate your reply thanks)
fuck that shit
I think they officially call them 'travelators' now, although it's not the only term used for them... 🙂
Thanks! I knew there was a term for them but couldn’t think what it was.
@@agirlandherpassport they are called moving walkways.
Excellent! Thank you. So, the Metro you took to Syntagma continues on to Piraeus if I understand correctly?! Good to know that option now available although I quite like the X96 jaunt from Airport to Piraeus, especially in the small hours of the morning when, I guess the Metro would not be running 😁
Thanks for this informative video 👍🏻
You’re welcome! That is correct. You just stay on the same train.
Which one is cheaper? :)
The bus is cheaper.
Did you take the M3 line which is the blue line?
Yes, I did.

Haha! It’s very memorable
Are you still in Athens? I am in Athens and I need to learn the English language and I do not have anyone to practice the language with. I hope you can teach us the English language. Thank you.
When are you going to U.S.A
This week! 😊
is metro safe
There are sometimes pickpockets on the line from the airport.
