- If you're not "full bottle" on surface fishing for yellowfin or sand whiting, then you will be after watching this video! Staff members Joff and Jayson run through everything involved in tackling these flats ghosts in the most exciting way possible - using surface stickbaits and poppers. Popular options include the Zipbaits Skinnypop Jr. and Zoea, Bassday Sugapens, Atomic K9 Walkers and Daiwa Infeet Slippery Dogs. Virtually the entire WA coastline can be fished for whiting using lures, and in particular the flats of the Swan River, Peel and Leschenault estuaries.
For the giveaway at the end of the video, all you need to do is;

2. Like this video
3. Comment below your personal best whiting on topwater (or whiting in general if you are yet to register one on surface)
Good luck and tight lines legends! - Спорт
these boys appear to fully know what they are talking about 😄 i will take advantage and pick their brains. went to the store for the first time today, i now realize i have a fighting chance of catching fish on a regular basis. they are happy to help
Was flicking for flattie over east with a savage gear top walker and was whacked... Thought it was a jack, but was a monster 42cm whiting. Had fish tacos later that night. Such good species on light line.
Great video guys. Been popping for a good while but always open to hearing others experience. Best this year a nice 37. Thanks for your time and effort
Enjoyed it; going to Augusta and will certainly fish for whiting and other species 😀 Gerry 😊
Lads this was a great video🤜
I’ve only caught a few whiting when I meet an old fella at little lagoon (shark bay) when fishing with my kiddos. Bloke was awesome and has got me and my family hooked and out fishing this year for the fist time. Can’t wait to get out on the flats with these tips😀
Never caught a whiting on lure... yet. Awesome video guys can't wait to try the tips.
Not top water but a nice 30cm specimen from last years Busselton trip. This summer has surely got to be the season for my first taste of surface action! Great vid gents, loving the content! 🎣
Great insight into catching yellowfin. Great job 👍
Went up to shark bay this holidays with the boat in tow and the wind was not on my side for a couple days so lucky I chucked my infeet in with the rest of my gear and I could get out to some sheltered sand flats. Drove out to the spot at first light with only 3 stick-baits in hand. Had to get through a few little takkas and then saw a massive woof behind the lure mid twitch… paused it then nailed a 38cm stonka with the girth the size of a can which is my pb to this day 🤙 plus watching the big breeder swim off was an awesome feeling.
Can't wait to give this a crack! Yet to catch a whiting on anything but bait. Heading down to Dunsborough next week though, so hopefully I can put some of this info to good use!
Just starting to get into them so much fun . Got one at 28cm in australind . Thanks
Great video guys.
I’ve recently started whiting fishing with sugar pens. I bough a ns black hole rod from your store in nedlands which is 2-4 pound so whenever I hook a whiting it feels like a big one but it ends up being only low twenty’s 😂. It also snapped while casting so that’s great. I have 1 sugar pen and that’s all that I use but gets the job done. I hope to see you down the flats one day. My biggest whiting on lure is a sad 26 but should improve thanks to your tips. Tight lines🤙🤙
Nice one guys!! Very informative. Unfortunately I have no Whiting stories - YET!!!
got a 32cm in the Swan on a sugarpen 70.. was a bloody slog.. and lost a lot of fish . nice video lads keep em coming.
loving the yt content guys, yet to catch a ting on topwater but have caught them on the zx vibes and zoeas so would be handy to have a couple slippery dogs to get into it 🤙
Has anyone seen the sand whiting in Bunbury aquarium 😮😮!
Very much worth a look and biggest yellowfin I’ve ever seen it must be around the 45/50cm easy!
Well done guy's, very informative as always, what do you think about mid assists or mid and rear combined. No surface whiting yet, plenty on blades and small hardbodies.
Cheers guys for the awesome vid!
No worries Josh!
Caught a few mid 30s on the boat with bait, yet to catch one top surface so keen to give it a crack with my new found knowledge!
Very informative havent caught any whiting here in was let alone on lure
Great video, will check out the lures

Yet to catch one on topwater! Have only caught them on soft plastics & vibes 😢
Hopefully these tips will help!
PB was 30cm but hoping with the tips from this we can improve on this 😊 Thanks for the watch and tips 🤙🏻
Had a solid topwater session down Rockingham way this past weekend. Big horses tailing in a foot of water on the flats
Pulled a solid 37cm yellow fin horse thick as hell
Sugapens all day red and black stripes they were smashing anything that flew past them
Solid tip with the assists too, ill be trying that!
Love the Daiwa sling bag its on my back every time I am out fishing. Big tip the chrome finish on the daiwa logo just rubs off with some terps and then it's a nice white logo just saying. My biggest whiting is only 37cm still hopping to crack the 40 one day maybe with these tips its going to be soon. Need to get me one of those clear atomics because the big guys never seem to take what I have on offer for them. Thanks for the vids just found your channel subéd and bingeing now.
Great to hear mate, glad you enjoyed it!
berkley topwater lures the best hard to find
Great show guys but I am finding it hard to catch these little barstard on poppers. My beast was 35 second time I went out on a sugar pen. I am not giving up going to explore new grounds this year hoping to get that 40

Still new to whiting fishing so would love to win some lures to give surface fishing a go this summer!
My pb is a 34cm with the infeet slippery dog
Personal whiting in wa was a 35 cm in the swan while chasing tailors
Never caught a whiting top-water! These lures should put me on them tho! ;)
Pb whiting is 34cm on slippery dog up north in shark bay 🤙
pb whiting is 30 from Jensers secret flatty hole. On a zipbait mosquitobite jr.
Pb was about 15cm that got foul hooked on my lure chasing Taylor at point Walter. Poor little bugger went straight on ganghooks and got traded for a decent Taylor though
Pb was 32 down in mandurah
PB topwater whiting is 38cm up in shark bay
Biggest whiting was 33 in the swan while chasing flatties.
42cm 5" zman motoroil jerk shad, 3m drop off. Without ever targetting whitting. Maybe its worth trying plastics i do pickup alot using the small gulp shrimps.
35 cm off a Bassday Sugar pen on the Emu Point flats
Just bought two Daiwa slippery dogs,do you when is the whiting season and where about in the swan I can catch them?
The Swan can be a very difficult system to fish for whiting on lures. The Peel-Harvey estuary would be much easier to learn how to catch them. Whiting season generally continues all summer until the first major rains in Autumn, so it should still be fishing reasonably well.
34 in the swan fishing the flats
Never use top water but got a 38 on blood worm
My personal best whiting is yet in my future. Please enter me in the giveaway. Thank you.
Never caught one on top order. Just on a ZX probably about 30 probably not even that😂😢
pb was 31 in the swan
Is there any videos of Joff fishing for whiting?
We'll get him onto it next season 💪
Top water pb properly 28cm
my pb is 37cm at mandurah.
Could Michael Stipe also sing us a couple of songs 😝
Where did you catch those whitings?
You can catch surface whiting in estuaries like the Swan and Peel-Harvey, or on tidal flats such as those at Shark Bay and Exmouth 👍
only small whitings on my stories
39cm in busslton
Hello sir, How are you? I like your video.
PB is 60cm. Didn’t have a camera handy that day.
