I've found it to be a great year for big whiting, but terrible for numbers. I reckon I've caught 1/3 of the number I usually get, just a lot of them have been quite big. So not really sure whats going on with that??
Great video Sammy. Just wondering if and what gopro you use to do your video's ? I'm wanting to do a couple of vid's when I go fishing too, mainly to show the family. Cheers
G'day mate! for my videos I usually have 3 gopro7's at my disposal, one on my head, one on a clamp and one for underwater. they are really great cameras. Good luck with the filming! always awesome to re-watch how your session went!
I know your pain when it comes to trying to catch, measure and video while wading. Its times like that you wish you had an extra set of hands. I finally cracked a 40 cm model this year on surface. Shame that its cooling down , surface fishing is certainly addictive.

hey Sammy love your stuff! Although i dont Know how you get a feed from three Tings mate.If i dont get at least ten in a sesh my wife and kids get the Ting fillets and i get the I and J fish fillets.Cheers mate.Tight Lines.
Yeah nice, its heaps of fun catching whiting on surface the visual strike etc. I have found you get the larger whiting on the surface lures. The 3B pop dog prawn pattern is working well on the flats mid run in tide. great vid again Sam keep em coming.
I've found the bigger whiting will usually smash the popper in one go, where as the smaller ones will chase and chase until they get hook. definitely caught heaps of smaller fellas on poppers though. I have tried the 3B prawn, i'll have to give it a crack! Cheers Murray! Appreciate it mate
Cheers mate, i'll give them a try. I've caught a lot of flatties on bent minnows and surface glide baits, just thought I would come across more popping for whiting. I think with the sugar pens then move a bit quick for a lazy old flattie, a slower bloop would give them a heaps better chance to catch up with it.

Try a Rapala SkitterPop for the flatties Sammy. They seem to hit them more aggressively than Sugarpens and the like.
