I found yoga in my early 20’s. I started practicing through youtube after a gall bladder surgery. I practiced here and there and started noticing how it helps with my anxiety and from there it stuck forever 🙂↔️🫶
i wish i knew about it when i had my gallbladder surgery,i was in dire pain when i woke up with pancreatitis and had to stay in the hospital for a month fighting for my life.,but i thank God i have it now
I have a similar experience with my gallbladder! Prior to removing my gallbladder they needed to go in through my throat to remove the gallstones. In doing so they cut my liver. I ended up in the icu for a few weeks receiving blood transfusions and multiple attempts to stop the bleeding. When i was able to go hone my body felt broken. It was hard to move because i wasn’t allowed to stand or stretch the entire time. I got home and instantly searched for yoga. I found yoga with melissa, sarah beth and fight master yoga. They were all great in my recovery and a big part in why i stuck with yoga. From there i started to notice the impact it had on my anxiety and it remained a regular routine day to day ❤️ im so happy we can connect through yoga and share similar journeys so that we arent alone ❤️❤️❤️
First practiced yoga at high school if you can believe it (public high school no less). Then on my own in college. Then fell off but during lockdown found it again. Never left. 😊
Bird please do a 40min full body stretch for beginners pleaseee 🫶🏻✨ I am 23 struggling with panic disorder. dp/dr recovery and your videos have been helping me with muscle tension.
I love the addition of the water and birds chirping. I used to sit by a stream during one of the lower point in my life and let the sound of the water and the birds sooth me. Hearing this today was so healing, it was such a beautiful experience to get to revisit these wonderful sounds of nature from a safe and happy place. Just as healing today as was it back then. ❤
I was attracted to Yoga about 20 years ago while in my 30’s, before You Tube took off. I practiced in a class, read books, had DVD’s. Now I’m so grateful for you here on You Tube making it so accessible.
I started yoga when I was a stay at home mom back in early 2000’s. I’ve been off and on for years but now want to get back into it. I soooooo appreciate your videos and I’m so glad you love what you do! 🥰🥰🥰
Beautiful ❤, the sound of sparkling water, the time you take for the poses, your gentle guiding. It helps me a lot to maintain flexibility in my aging body. Thanks a lot for your wonderful You-Tube video's ❤
I found yoga through my grandma and leaned away from it because I pursued other movement modalities. I only reconnected back with it during the pandemic through your channel and it has been so lovely to use this platform as a tool to move and reconnect with my body in a soft and integrated way.
I love how much time you leave for shavasana, even virtually. I would love more gentle reminders to connect with the breath during transition into poses etc. I feel like that would encourage my breath control a bit more. I do remind myself but hearing it externally helps too! Thank you for all you do ❤
Grief 😔 brought me to start practicing yoga 🧘♀️ It helped clear and make sense of what I was feeling. It allowed me a type of security blanket to feel the anger/sadness and breathe it out calmly.
I started yoga about 1 year ago and a I FEEL IN LOVE WITH IT! It allowed me to slow down and breathe and have some personal time with myself and the one above! I find myself eager to go in my mat, and I love and so grateful for that feeling! Thank You💓
I found yoga 🧘♀️ during covid 19 pandemic 😷 since I was feeling anxious 😬 I tried yoga on UA-cam I felt more relaxed after it and at ease so I said to myself let me try something new so yeah , I started doing yoga more often then I started getting better at it however, I went to register to a yoga studio to practice yoga until this time 😻😻 yoga has been my therapy since then and your classes are always great 😊 thank you
I’ve just found you and I wanted to say a huge thank you. I’ve never been consistent with physical activity, I put too much pressure on myself to be perfect. I’ve always known yoga is the thing for me but again I’ve never been consistent because I’m just not perfect. Then I found you and it finally clicked. Consistent doesn’t have to mean every day for 40, 60, 90 minutes! Consistent can be on my three days off for 10-15 and then getting on with my day feeling amazing ❤️ thank you Bird 💕
I've started & stopped so many things, but yoga is something I've stuck with. I can't imagine starting my day without it now. Even if it's just 10-20mins. Some days are short practices but I need the consistency. I've finally developed a healthy addiction!
With the first lock downs in 2020 I just decided to try yoga one day and found some videos and started. Then I found Bird's 30 day 5min yoga challenge and I said well I can do 5 min every day. So I was going to do 30 days, but I realized maybe 60 is a good number, which became 100 and then I realized I never set goals for myself because I didn't believe I could or even was worthy of setting goals. So I set a goal for doing yoga every day even if just 5 minutes for 365 days which I did from 20 May 2020 - 20 May 2021. I reached the first goal I ever set for myself for a year. Since then I don't do yoga as much as every day and at times I slack for a bit but always come back because yoga helps my ADHD brain focus on the here and now, and it definitely helps with my anxiety. Through all of the past 4 years when things get hard in life I turn to yoga to self soothe and exercise. One last thing is that I have scoliosis, and when I started doing yoga my back would not go flat for poses like happy baby and hugging the legs into the chest today because of yoga my back is flatter. Thank you Bird for being there for me on the internet whenever I need yoga and calmness. ❤
this did not feel like 22 minutes..this exercise allowed me to finally clear my mind and think about things I need to do. Thank you so much!!! This is why i follow you.
I have tried yoga a couple of times before but adding it in to my life routine never stuck until I found your channel and tried a couple of your videos a few months ago. Your encouragement and reminders that modifying for what my body needs at that time is ok has been exactly what I needed to help me make daily yoga a part of my life. It helps me relax, build strength, and gives me some relief from my chronic pain. Thank you!
Interestingly enough, my sorority introduced it to me. We all did a hot yoga class together as a sister bonding experience. And I’m forever grateful because it brings me so much peace and serenity. I continued to go to hot yoga for years, and when I moved I needed a way to keep it in my life. So here I am 💕
I started yoga at the first gym I signed up to and never looked back. During COVID, I began my practice through UA-cam and found how centred I felt the more I practiced it. I’ve used it through my healing process physically when I injured myself last year (now healed) and for emotional healing after my 7-year relationship came to an end this year.
I found yoga through the university I was attending. They would host different types of classes, one of my favorites was the glow in the dark yoga. I became somewhat consistent throughout these last 2-3 years with the help of this channel. You make following along so easy for those are just starting out or for those who aren’t as advanced. And your videos are always so calming. Thank you 🙏🏾
I have a bad history with eating disorders and the way I exercise. I found this channel while rehabing a broken foot from running fractures and hip surgery. Yoga and this channel have been a huge part of my physical and mental recovery from the injuries and damage my ED and unhealthy relationship with exercise has caused. I really appreciate your videos as they are a 30-minute daily staple in my life now. I hope you all the best, and thank you again for producing these videos. It is so meaningful for many people.
I found yoga in college about 12 years ago 🤔🤔🤔 give or take lol and it just completely changed my life. It helps with my anxiety, it motivates me to be more active, and it genuinely just makes me happy. I'm so grateful.
Thank you Bird for your relaxing and rejuvenating yoga practice. I’m 72 and feeling very healthy, flexible and balanced. I began yoga many years ago and I feel youthful because I consistently practiced yoga and Qigong. Two years ago I was hit by a car as a pedestrian and yoga is helping with my recovery. Please keep up the great work that you are so generously offering to help others❤
I found yoga a couple years ago when i wanted to try meditation. I found your channel and its my go to now when i want to sit down and have a full stretch and relaxation sesh
I always love your practices~ my work schedule recently changed, so the short ones have been great to make sure I stretch, but these longer ones also make me take more time for myself
I made it to 20 minutes!!! 🎉🎉 I’m on my second week and I think I’m caught!! Achy joints brought me here. The need for reflection brought me here. The need to slow down brought me here. I’ve followed you for a couple years but I just did not make myself disciplined enough to commit because I’m used to being 100 💯 miles an hour. But I still live sex and just live to dance so I better do something!!😎🤣🎊🎊 I turned 54 yesterday and I feel great! Thanks Byrd!
I found yoga about five years ago, online, as a way to ease back pain and maintain flexibility and mobility. I pick and choose the practice on the day based on the way my body and mind feel. Really love your practices and while I sometimes do others I keep coming back. Thanks fo giving 😊
I found yoga here on this channel while looking for a gentle way to listen to my body and still get in movement everyday. After practicing with Bird I felt comfortable going into a studio near me that I now frequent.
I found yoga in college and I loved it at first because of the stretching. It was my first motivation for more than 20 years. I rediscovered it differently in the last years when stresses and mourning hit me. With yoga, my body and my mind can continue to breathe freely, without accumulating constraints due to captured emotions. Thanks you for your sweet energy and your generosity Bird.
I found yoga after fracturing my hip in a car wreck. My mobility was horrible, and my overall health suffered. Nothing was helping until I got a yoga mat and got the heart to try something new. Im doing much better 3 yrs later.❤
I neede this so badly!! Had to put my mule down. Then lost all faith in humanity the next day. Thank you for always being here for us! You give me hope.

@@YogaWithBird thank you congratulations on your sobriety as well alcohol is one of the hardest to deal with because it's everywhere all the time. Bless you.
I did it over the years on and off just to try something new and to help recover when I used to run, but I took it up more seriously a few years ago to actually help with a partial body nervous tic as well as to lose a bit of weight and gain flexibility. I had a year of extremely difficult life experiences way back, and the stess came through as a tic as well as comfort eating. It's mostly gone now as I've worked through the emotional stuff and life worked itself out, only happens occasionally as I start to fall asleep at night or if I have a terrible day (or watch a really scary movie 😆) but working my muscles and then relaxing them helps to keep it at bay. Also the endorphins from the exercise prevent the stress chemical cortisol from triggering it. There are people who have anxiety way worse than I did, that's just how it surfaced for me when things were pretty difficult. Many people have their tics their whole lives, although in my case mine was mostly temporary. I don't talk about it much simply because talking about your tics can trigger them (so if you're starting to get any for the love of God stay off those 'mental health' Tiktoks) but if anyone develops one, here's some advice; 1. Go to a doctor or clinic just to rule out any further health issues, just asking a doc helps you feel better and more empowered 2. Don't feel bad if it starts up, just take a few deep breaths and lightly flex the muscle or area that its happening on, that sometimes stops it. Just flex, unflex, flex, etc. Doesn't have to be intense, just activate the muscles. If you're in an uncomfortable place such as at the dentist, try rhythmic breathing, so breath in for four seconds, hold for five, exhale for seven. Really works, especially as a preventative. 3. Hydrate!!!! Water with lime sqeeze is great, plain water is better than nothing, try to avoid sports drinks as the dyes and artificial sweeteners can make anxiety worse (who knew?) But even that's better than only drinking coffee or sodas. 4. Avoid overly processed foods in general. They don't directly affect a tic of course but when you eat crap, you feel like crap, and therefore have a much lower threshold for stress. 5. Sleep. Actually sleep. Throw your phone into a drawer for the night at a normal time, swich to cozy low lights while you get ready for bed, drink a cuppa chamomile tea if you like, and just sleep. Even resting in the dark is better than staring at a glowing stress rectangle. 6. Take vitamins-- dont start knocking back those luxury vitamins by the handful, that's terrible for your liver. But keeping up on your body's needs will lesson the likelihood of it deciding to try to tell you something is wrong. My doc saw I was a bit low on certain vitamins so I keep up with them and take others when I think I have a cold etc. 7. Start journaling or even just making lists and examine what circumstances in your life could be contributing to your anxiety. Not to whine about things, although venting can help, but rather so you can figure out actual actionable steps to rectify them as best you can. If you're religious or spiritual, stay in touch with that higher power because your strength comes from somewhere babes. And no matter how dark or angry your journal entries might be, always end them with a nice anecdote, memory, joke, anything to end the moment well and feel resolved.
Thanks bird really enjoyed this practice very relaxing and therapeutic open up the body loosen up the sore muscles and hip flexors u are awesome have a wonderful day see you next time keep up the great thumbs up always namaste 😊

Something traumatic happened to me when I was 17. My mom had a friend who was a yoga mentor, she did classes and did a personal one with me, I fell in love ever since. It’s been 10yrs and when I find my life or feel myself going out of control yoga always brings me center and joy
Michelle visage from rupaul’s said she started her health journey by doing yoga for 10 mins a day. I searched 10 min beginner yoga on UA-cam and guess who I found?! A year later I can yoga for much longer and I have never left Bird.

Something traumatic happened to me when I was 17. My mom had a friend who was a yoga mentor, she did classes and did a personal one with me, I fell in love ever since. It’s been 10yrs and when I find my life or feel myself going out of control yoga always brings me center and joy
I found yoga because my girlfriend has been practicing it ❤
Michelle visage from rupaul’s said she started her health journey by doing yoga for 10 mins a day. I searched 10 min beginner yoga on UA-cam and guess who I found?! A year later I can yoga for much longer and I have never left Bird.
