I find it helps to have a similar attitude to it that retail middle management has... You will have a certain amount of "shrink". Some of your loot will be "shoplifted" and some of it will be "destroyed" by the kraken. The loss-prevention team isn't expected to STOP lost profits... they are just expected to minimize losses. Every so often, someone will sink you and you'll lose loot and time... but that's the cost of doing business. Those losses are an inevitable cost of the profits you DID make.

I know it’s a pirate game, but you can’t really brag about sinking a new, especially young, player with your veteran crew
True. This game can be fun, but being what it is, it really promotes toxic behavior. I've run in to some major jerks in this game. It's a pirate game of course, and I don't want it to change anything, but the unfortunate side effect of such a system is a game full of pointlessly toxic jerks.
One time me and a friend were just doing a tall tale, trying to get it done before we had to leave. Then a galleon started chasing us. We all had mics so we told them we had no loot and were just trying to get this tall tale done on a tight schedule. They kindly informed us that they didn't care, chased us, and sank us. We set sail again, they found and sunk us again a short while later. We didn't get the tall tale done that day....

Go against the wind(sloop) and slowly drop one piece of loot of your boat every 20 seconds(you work for yourself or for nothing not for cheesy kid that cant handle anything harder than a 4vs1)

The fact that you can lose, if you play badly or incorrectly is precisely what makes it a GAME. The entire idea is to overcome/beat the challenge by getting gud. xD
When I have loot and someone sunks me to steal me, I usually rage quit and stay out of the game for a few days until the desire to play appears again and I return to the game. But as far as I can remember, that only happened twice cause I'm always avoiding going close other ships. Yes, half of my gameplay is using spyglass and checking map

Right? Like I ain't gonna get too mad about pvp or ask for pve only servers, but as a clearly veteran player with a Galleon, going after obviously newer players on sloops just seems like an asshole move to me. How can that even be fun? Do people like hearing their annoying screeching for some reason? I always thought the fun of games were, you know, the challenge? How is taking down new players solo sloops challenging? Seems more like a mean spirited power fantasy to me.
If the kid would shut up and actually play the game, he would get some good pvp practice and learn how to handle situations like that, so when he *does* have loot, he knows what to do. Also, he was not solo, and if he doesn't play the game again, that's just one more toxic 12-year-old off the seas
