- povo pico configuration setup with dji 03 air unit - you will have to use betaflight-configurator app for this video.
Get your Pavo Pico
bit.ly/pavo-pico
Will have you up in the air in running after watching this.
betafpv pavo pico is fun to fly - not to complex to configure. If you get stuck pause the video and just copy the settings into the betaflight-configurator app.
Thanks to @tostedt2010 for sharing this..
UART6 is not always correct! If you have the older FCs it is UART6, if you have the FC from the second batch/delivery it is UART5 instead!

I think you are overly concerned about overheating while flying. In many years of flying HD quads, I've never had one cut out in flight, and I live in the low (hot) desert. Admittedly, I do turn off heat protection. Even so, if it gets hot enough, it will shut off. Mr. Bardwell asserts that you cannot possibly burn out the air unit from, perhaps, waiting for a difficult retrieval. It'll protect itself. You are correct about being concerned about overheating when the device is on the ground, however. If powered up on the bench, I will have a fan running on it. If crashed for some reason, AND if I know generally where the quad is, I'll turn the TX power to the lowest setting of 25mw while hiking in for it. By the way, you've done a very good job on this video. Well Done!
You're Awesome!!
Thanks for breaking it down.
Sure.. Glad this was able to help. Don't forget about the troubleshooting video.. ua-cam.com/video/LEw5Gha1eRo/v-deo.htmlsi=HV2vTbYTDJ2M4kOs
I have applied all the settings and connected the controller. In the Receiver view, however, I can't access the remote control. Can you help me further?
Try the troubleshooting video.. Just remember the pavo videos are for the PNP expereince.. Plug and Play version of the drones.. Which remote and drone did you get.. ua-cam.com/video/LEw5Gha1eRo/v-deo.html
I paired the reciever (got the green light on the 03) but I dont see any inputs from my controller on betaflight. Any solutions you might know of?
2:31 into the video - make sure you have SBUS selected - it's in the Receiver menu - try pairing the receiver again. It's possible that only the goggles are paired.
Will put up new video later this evening.. everything will happen in real time no edits

Is it possible to bind the dji controller to a pavo pico with a Caddx vista installed instead of an o3 air unit?
Sorry everything here is PNP , 2.4g , Josh Bradwell or Captin Drone Should be able to answer this question or even have a video on this.. But you should be able to. Let us know how it goes..
are you able to give instructions on binding the PAVO Pico with a 3rd party radio (radiomaster boxer) having the hardest of times binding the two. don't want to use my DJI remote 2.
not sure @CAPTAINDRONE798 might be able to help - he might have a binding video.. also not sure if the 03 Air unit to the Pavo Pico can be bound with other remote that's not DJI related. maybe you should have bought the other version of the pavo pico that was not DJI 03 -
Support is pretty fast with betaFPV -
you can submit a request heresupport.betafpv.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Or reach out to @CAPTAINDRONE798 or search is channel..
Would you happen to know how to setup the led light on one of the Aux switches. I have Aux 1 set for Angle,Hor,Air. Aux 2 top to arm-middle to disarm. Aux 3 is Home button, but if I hold it activates beeper and if I push it then it’s supposed to turn on and off Led. Aux 4 is the user mode? Aux 5 is C1 set for turtle mode. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Try this one.. It should help guide you in the right direction.. ua-cam.com/video/LEw5Gha1eRo/v-deo.html
@@How-to-by-Lou Thank you
Thank you. Very stupid question: how to arm it? I have a Avata and now the Pico. I binded everything but it does not take off
covered it here: ua-cam.com/users/livePePZBXToPWI
1. Make sure you have the goggles protocol set to "standard "
2. Check the 03 Air Unit Cable make sure it's not broken
3 Check the pins on the 03 Air Unit. makes sure they are not accidentally bent
4. Check in beta flight, make sure you have "SBUS" selected in the "Receiver" Tab
5 Throttle has to be down before you can arm
6. Make sure it's not already "armed", won't start if you're already armed.
7. Make sure the 03 Air Unit and the DJI goggles are running the current updated software.
8. Battery could be dead.
9. In betaflight check your Modes. Make you your custom tabs are selected. correctly and are in the right place.
10. think that's it. If I missed something will let you know.
@@How-to-by-Lou thank you!!! it seems my FC is broken. I spent days with research and still didn't get my DJi remote, even though binded, to set a signal to the drone. I will get a replacement FC. I fear this will be a big challenge to swap it?
@@OlliDTS It can be a tad tricky.. Am uploading a new soldering tutorial later.. this one is I think 20$ on amazon. The one being uploaded today is 9$ on amazon. Those flight controllers are expensive.. Maybe the 9$ build.. You only get one shot but you will need to buy a smoke stopper...

Ended up getting a new FC for free since the one I had the first time round was completely dead when it got to me. Now paired everything but I have no movement in the receiver tab unlike you do and also not sure how to arm it to test if stuff works?
Try to delete the beeper and flip and just keep angle mode and horizon along with arm..
Also since you have the version 2 most likely it’s UART 5
Happened to me yesterday with a different drone. Went to it's website and downloaded the firmware for that Flight Controller then went into the CLI, did a (dump all) for current presets so they could be saved to folder / desktop incase they decide to be put back on... then configured everything for so it would work with the new firmware. Now works great. Some features are missing but everything works now.. You might need to do the same thing with the Pavo Pico
Thank you very much buddy for a very useful video, I bought myself such a drone and am waiting to receive it.
You're welcome - other video on unbricking will be out over the weekend..after the one for kids..
My pleasure - you can now add GPS to the unit ua-cam.com/video/NUd4JPoSCsE/v-deo.html
At one point it wouldn’t arm and you were going to find out why and then you got side tracked and then cut to something else,I mention it because mine won’t arm either with the exact same setup,it is bound ok and responds in beta flight in the receiver tab ? What did you do ? Thanks
Throttle has to be down.. if throttle is not in down position it won’t arm

Maybe I missed something, but UART6 is not always correct! If you have the older FCs it is UART6, if you have the FC from the second batch/delivery it is UART5 instead!
thanks for sharing will put this in the description.. Didn't know there were different flight controllers from different delivery batches...
@@How-to-by-Lou
As far I know the first batch was delivered with F4 1-2S 12A AIO V3. Since end of August 2023 the second batch was delivered with F4 2-3S 20A AIO V1.0
I have both, both have integrated receiver, but I prefer to use SBUS (DJI).
I couldn't say any big difference between except the UARTs. At present it is not possible to buy the newer FC as a spare!

Hey there
! Just to clarify, the Pavo Pico doesn't come with a buzzer pre-installed, correct? So we're on our own when it comes to equipping buzzers on the buz+ and buz- pads, right?
There is a beeper, you just have to turn it on in the settings
Let me know if you need help turning it on
Hey @droneimagery-NY-NJ, thanks for your input! Ah, I see you're talking about the Dshot bcon configuration. You're right, it's an option to transform the motors into a beeper when using the dshot protocol. However, I've heard it tends to heat up the motors rather quickly, which doesn't sound too good.
Personally, I'd prefer not to use it. Although it can beep when the TX is lost, it lacks the versatility of a real beeper with multiple functionalities that can be configured in the config section. But hey, thanks for the suggestion!
I'm considering installing a beeper, especially since I saw the diagram of the Pavo Pico and it has beeper pads. Have a great day!
New video next week on adding GPS to Povo Pico unit and getting it to work - setup is totally different with this chip in beta flight..

Thanks - glad you were able to take something from here..

I would like to start the hobby and am looking for a complete package with the Pavo Pico, batteries, remote control and glasses. can you help?
Hard to say - first I bought the DJI goggles and then later the additional parts like the remote and other things needed to go FPV
You can reach out to betaFPV support and ask which package with goggles can the pavo pico be flown with support.betafpv.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
They have some really cool drone goggles combo but the binding process is like a bad game of twister
Or you can look on eBay too, some folks are selling their FPV remote for 80$
You’d still need the goggles too however some folks who thought they would fly FPV and then decided not to; will have their stuff for sale on there too…
www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=dji+fpv+remote+controller+2&_sop=12
Then you’d just need Pavo and 03 air unit..
They do have goggles 🥽 and drone combos on ebay too, which are more affordable but they aren’t DJI units
But if it’s your first time ever then the AVATA might be good since it’s pretty resilient and can hold up to many crashes before actually needing to be repaired
The Pavo - even if you’re handy at fixing stuff you’ll still need parts if you crash but totally manageable with the videos here on the channel, cheaper and faster to fix the Pavo - but if you put time into the simulator then ya might not be needing any repairs
DJI AVATA, might work well with care refresh but after comparing it all only you can decide which is best for you
All in all this channel will totally help you with both…
My pavo doesnt bind with the dji fpv reciever why? Do u have a idea?
Try the troubleshooting video - let us know how it goes. ua-cam.com/video/LEw5Gha1eRo/v-deo.html

My pleasure.. Hope this helps.. Let us know how it goes.. You might also enjoy this one too.. ua-cam.com/video/LEw5Gha1eRo/v-deo.html
why did you change the uarts?
this is the configuration for this experience without the GPS and this is the experience below for the pavo pico with GPS. Basically it's the way the chip is wired. So it opens things up in the software so it know what to look for so things can bind and fly
How did you set the disarm/arm button?
5:00 minutes into video you will see how to set arm /disarm button.
You can now add GPS to the Pavo Pico ua-cam.com/video/NUd4JPoSCsE/v-deo.html

2. You don’t habe to take screenshots, just save all setting fom the cli by typing “dump all”, hit “enter” and save the file 💡
Thanks a bunch.. appreciate this
You would not happen to know if battery settings can be adjusted so the Pavo Pico doesn’t over heat so fast….
Great video!
After binding it with the Pavo pico are you still able to use it with the DJI Avata or do you need to re-bind it?
Nope - after binding it, it will be bound forever. Just don’t have two drones on at the same time if they both share the remote and goggles..then it might get confused..
I have Avata and Pico , mine RC2 have to bind each time if I swap the drone over !! Maybe Iam doing something wrong or it is like this

I got it to work! Not as easy to fly like the Avata, but a little more time on the simulator and we’ll see. 😂
@@lalojr76ify That's great... the new remote came.. So much easier to bind right? - Maybe turn on the OSD in the setting - or put the camera in wide mode. that's done from the setting in the DJI goggles.
Can you share how you got it to work? I have the pav0 20 and cant get it to bind to rc2 @lalojr76ify
I have a DJI FPV Controller, purchased for simulator training. When purchasing a Pavo Pico unit do you select TBS or ELRS? or is that irrelevant when using it with DJI O3? I'm confused as to whether the DJI controller interfaces with the O3 for radio frequency or if it connects to the Pavo Flight Controller board..
go and do a bit or research as i did. TBS is a company that have the product Crossfire. you need to select TBS Crossfire if you want to use with DJI controller 2. The DJI o3 air unit is the video module. that you can use the new fpv goggles.
@@ezekielozI actually just got that working yesterday. There was a change between the first Pico and the Pico 2, for the DJI controller to work serial has to be enabled on UART 5 for the new model.
Now I’m trying to figure out how to use an ELRS controller with the Pico 2. I have a couple units and just started working with them over the weekend.
good video but my controller is paring with the Drohne but it isn't controlling it and gives no input to the drone. do you know what to do
Start at 3:40 seconds in this video and continue on to 5:55 to on double checking the settings. also make sure to arm is set to aux2 angle and horizon are set to aux1. If throttle isn't all the way down the drone won't arm..
Will throw up a video was working on for remote - the beginning is how to put it back into sport but half way through it goes over the manual setting... if the throttle is even slightly bounced back it will not arm the drone..
make sure your remote controller stick doesn't bounce back up ua-cam.com/video/ypxccdcNCsA/v-deo.html
Did you figure this out? Same issue. Using the suggested ports etc
@@glennaffonso9651 yeah it took a lot of trial and error- especially when installing the gps unit because with the gps these setting go out the window.. but this is working now for most folks ..

Can we remote pavo pico with dji motion controler 2 ?
that would be amazing but no. Right now it only works with the avata and the other designated drones from the DJI collection
Can I fly this drone with the DJI Motion 2?
I don't want to spend $200 on another controller...
after the config how do you turn on the engine?
You should be able to arm it by pressing the designated key you chose to arm it -
4 minutes 30 seconds into video will show you how to set the keys
Once battery is in it should start after pressing the key
Make sure the throttle is down and your your remote is set to manual mode..
