    I'm glad the driver of the Pullman made up his time. I think some of the passengers were chasing peas all over their plates at lunch 😄 Lovely looking train. 👍

      Hello Pauline, I don't think any of the main courses contained peas that day 🙂 I think if I were a passenger I would have eaten after dissembarking. Thanks for watching again. All the best to you

    Wonderful to see the magnificent Blue Pullman going like the clappers along the track. So smooth, no derailments. Excellent.

      Good evening Pete, I must admit a bit of trepidation, at that speed it would be an impressive incident if derailment occurred. Thanks for watching the video. Best festive greetings to you.

      @@MrSnooze Good evening. I have three Blue Pullmans in my collection, all six car sets and in the later grey/blue livery. Like yours, they get up a good head of steam, although they're diesel models powered by electricity! Lol. Must get a Nanking Blue set like yours. 🙂

      Hello Pete, sounds like you have some very nice models there, I hope you get some of the earlier versions soon. I didn't know that colour was called Nanking Blue, that's good to know. Take care, all the best to you

    Another very enjoyable video Mr Snooze. Great to see the Blue Pullman stretch it’s legs. Those ribbed wheels produce a wonderful sound. Your stock is in superb condition. They must of been well stored. Thanks for sharing.

      Hello Adrian, I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the Pullman at speed. Even though a lot of my models have no original boxes they have indeed been well tucked away. Thanks for watching, best festive regards to you

    Good morning Mr Snooze, definitely one of Tri-angs iconic grope of models the original Blue Pullman. Lovely to see it in action on the layout, terrific sound. Just missing the smell of the motor as it warms up, hopefully, youtube will introduce smell-o-vision shortly!
    Stay safe.
    Oscar

      Hello Oscar, thanks for watching, I'm pleased you enjoyed the Pullman express. Smelling these in action is truly something that modern railway models lack. The other day the Wrenn West Country Class produced some amazing running smells, the heat from the armature windings releasing some wonderful odours. I think if people could experience this on UA-cam it would be fantastic. I hesitate to say but with the negative news about pollution from wood burning stoves, I'm sure scientists might say negative things about our older locos though! Best regards to you

    Oh, Yes! That was terrific, I loved seeing and hearing that. I saw a couple of the real Blue Pullmans out near Ampthill or Bletchley but never had a model of one.

    Wow just listen to sound of that Pullman . Knurled wheels superb. Love the layout . Plan 17 from the 3rd/4th edition track plans? Just found your channel . Love Tri-ang . My first trainset was a Freightmaster in 1965! Still got the Brush Type 2

      @MrSnooze  3 роки тому +1

      Hello Russell, the noise is indeed all part of the fun. You are correct about the track plan, mine is based on No 17 from those editions with some modifications to use the Super 4. Check out other videos, the Brush Type 2 is one of my favourite locos, I'm glad you still have yours. Best festive wishes to you.

    Hello Mr Snooze - I'm a newcomer to your channel, sent here from Oscar's channel. I have a couple of blue pullmans and a couple of grey/blue sets too, collected over the years and in the past year have managed to get a layout going to use them, similarly using mainly super 4 track on those circuits, but some standard track on inclines. One thing I have noticed is that occasionally the pullmans start to spark excessively and on examination there are bunches of fine iron filings on the bottom of the power unit. There are points where there is a bit of wheelspin sometimes (and occasionally a bit of ski-ing if it hits a section with no power!) and I'm wondering whether the ridged wheels are grinding the rail surfaces in places? Any ideas? Thanks! Mike.

    • @MrSnooze
      @MrSnooze  3 роки тому

      Hello Mike, thanks for looking at the channel. I've never had filings from the actual track but on a couple of bogies I've had fine metal dust that causes sparks from the worm and axle gears. I find a little white grease good on the gears. Would be good to clean it up, grease the gears and see if it returns. Check for sharp burrs on the wheels maybe. I've never seen these ribbed wheels wear track but there's always a first time 🙂 Best regards to you
