    When the inevitable arrives, there has to be a final howrah with multiple locomotives & stock running on all the lines. It's been a great joy to watch the layout & for you to share it with us all, so i say thank you for the last 4 years & wish you all the best in the new beginning

    Lovely locomotives. It was your channel and Oscar’s that got me really in to Tri-ang. I realised what I loved doing was the simple maintenance, trying to fix things and running trains, I really was not interested in ballasting track etc

    Hi MR Snooze, really enjoyed your video as always. I know how you feel, I moved house 4 years ago, I stripped my layout down. It took me one and a half years before I could run my trains again. But I now have a big layout in my attic & I run 5 trains at once. I really hope you end up in the same boat. I really enjoy your channel all the best. Carl.

    Another really enjoyable video Mr Snooze. Sorry to hear that the layout is to be dismantled but hope that the new one will be even better. And you’re right a lot of the fun is in servicing and maintaining the trains! All the best.

    I would love grandson Hugo to see the layout before it goes into storage. In the interest of not stereotyping his sister I bought her a train set. She quite enjoyed it but preferred to drive her model cars around the base map but Hugo instantly loved it and goes and gets it to ask his dad to set it up. Whoever said boys and girls aren’t intrinsically different hasn’t had children 😆

    Excellent stuff. There was an early 70s version of the Polly to run alongside the Lord Westwood. It was the same red with a telephone number and a silver dome (from the Lord of the Isles).

    Loved these Hornby Railways boxes with black insert and white lined image of loco . I remember the fuss created with the purists when they released the red Hall . That’s a great catalogue , by the way , great illustrations in front piece and the layouts in the back pages including a superb loco shed scene . As a little boy I studied that for hours . Nice running ad usual . Love playing trains . Shame you have to move the railway . Wish you luck with that

    Your Lord Westward is certainly gleaming nicely, almost as if you’ve just walked out of the shop back in the 70’s with it. I do like the little 0-4-0 industrial locomotives they have such great character, I’ve got the blue one with gold lining inspired by the SD&JR railway livery it’s a great little runner.

    Lovely running today from one scale model and two toy trains. Polly seemed to be in a rush but lord Westwood and the City of Birmingham were sedately running through the Super 4 landscape and making me drowsy. ( A good thing.) I must say that it came as a bit of a shock to hear that the layout is now in the way of progress but as one that has visited I do understand the circumstances that have brought you to this point. You have gathered a great following over the past 5 years and I'm sure most of us look forward to seeing what the channel holds in store. All the best to you and I hope to talk to you and see you again soon.

    I also prefer old fashioned model trains. I live in Italy so I'm on HO with a collection of old Lima, Jouef, Piko locomotives, with an X04 powered Hornby acHO tank engine representing my link to all things British. I also enjoy maintenance and mechanisms.

    Hello again.
    I wish you well in your relocation project and really hope you manage to achieve it. May I suggest you film the dismantling process? OOBill did it recently, and it was very well received and fascinating. There's a huge volume of content on building a railway, but very little on how to dismantle one.
    Watching you performing maintenace etc on your fleet will be interesting too.
    I was recently warching a video featuring a very modern layout, and the presenter was eulogising about DCC Concepts' PowerBase product, which consists of steel plates to place under nickel track and magnets to fit to the locos.
    I couldn't resist commenting that this technology was old hat, as it is a throwback to steel Super 4 track & Triang Hornby Magnadesion in the locos.
    It seems there is indeed nothing new under the sun...

    • @MrSnooze
      @MrSnooze  3 місяці тому

      It is amazing what a bit of assistance from a magnet does to haulage power. I shall definitely record the careful dismantling when it occurs. Best regards to you

    Those Wrenn locos are around 50 years, & the box & inner box are in that good condition?

    • @MrSnooze
      @MrSnooze  3 місяці тому

      I think it's down to the quality of the boxes and the fact they have been stored in the dark and dry. Thanks for looking, best regards to you

    Sorry to hear you’ll have to dismantle your lovely layout. It has given hours of entertainment to many of us, and has been partially responsable for me getting my current Dublo 3-rail project off the ground. Hope the reasons for the move are not too serious. Anyway I will continue to support the channel and look forward to seeing your future projects. All the very best to you Mr S!
    Rob
    PS if you have an e-mail for the channel I’d be happy to send some photos of the 3-rail layout. It’s not your usual "perfect table top railway" tail-chaser. Í’m trying to do something a little different…

    Two other channels are 'The Third Rail' which treats Marklin much as you treat Triang &C.; and 'Marklin of Sweden' who has a slightly different approach. And anyone interested in clocks and brilliance, I keep pointing to 'youtube clickspring'.
