    Damn you we are so close the real thing community really needs. Air cooled micro ATX motherboard and PSU case that can be printed in pieces sized 200x200. I ask this because most of us bought cheapest 3d printers and like ender 3 they have 220x220 bed size but effective size is 200x200 mostly. So if you follow this use cases you can reach 99% of 3d printers owners and PC builders

      I know this has been highly requested and especially from my previous mATX two years ago the ATX psu support has been high on the list and I remember back then I made some promises I failed to fulfill as everyone wanted ATX psu support and it’s been gnagging me ever since that I didn’t just complete it. Now finally it’s here though.
      Now the next challenge would be as you say to shrink each part, find a clever way to join the parts with no visible exterior screws and clean joints.

      @@makerunit Well... the panels might be separated into smaller parts that will be later screwed or glued together. The key is to well designed connection points. Not necessary hide it, byt maybe even opposite - expose them in a way that fulfills the aesthetics of the design. ;)
      Still. This project is a very good job. A lot of things was taken into consideration. PC cases manufacturers sometimes after years are forgetting about some details...

      @@LeitoAE yeah I’ve been working on some ideas for ways to use joints as a part of the design, and one of the projects I’m working on right now is an Ender-3-printable full size ATX case. There that challenge comes up, but I think I’m able to solve it pretty nicely. Stay tuned 😁

    If you are still designing new 3d printed cases. The next one has to be a Sandwich layout ITX case. I've been looking for one which supports 240 radiators, one at the top and one at the bottom for custom watercooling loop. It would be an insane challenge to design (as well as you do) but would be an amazing evolution of your 3d printed case line-up. Love your work keep on creating cool stuff.

    I hope you read comments! I have an mATX case idea I've been sketching up for some time now, but I don't know how to build it like you! It's a sandwich layout mATX case that can support ATX or SFX power supplies and up to 244mm GPUs. If my calculations are correct, it would be sub-13L. I would love to talk with you about this!

      A Matx Nas mod for this would be great. With space for ½ height GPU and low profile CPU cooler. Looks like there could be plenty of room for 3.5" drives.

    Awesome as always! I have a shelf in my room full of your pc cases... very intrigued by each of them but each have been unique. Filled each one with different components and plan to have one in each room of the house.

      Thank you! Yeah that sag during installation of the PSU wasn’t ideal. Though when the rear panel is in place the sag is pretty much gone. 😁

    as usual great attention to details and placement of the parts is perfect, my only comment here is that it is a little bigger than i expected but there isn't really anything to complain about with how much effort you have put into a project like that, keep it up and best of luck 💙

      Thank you Hamed! It did end up getting slightly bigger than I was expecting to begin with too, but I wanted the ATX psu support and AIO support and all the other flexibility so I felt like I shrinked it as much as I could without sacrificing too much. You see how tight it is between the different parts only millimeters separating them 😁

    Your work doesn't stop to amaze me! You outdone yourself again. Please, only upload the version with your logo on it... is your work and you should be proud of it! An idea for a project: maybe a nas case? The cases for this kind of thing are so expensive that even a 3kg case would make sense. Thank you for everything and i will be looking forward to your new creations in the future.

    I'm impressed and delighted! you are just very cool! I don’t know English, but I look at the Yandex browser with the neural network translation, and I’m just amazed at how cool, beautiful and clean everything is designed, filmed and narrated! You have unique content and a very useful video for 3D printers! My printer is still very inaccurate, but as soon as I calibrate it, I will print your project! he's amazing! Thank you! keep up the good work! my wishes - print a project of a case that will take up a minimum amount of space on the table, but will accommodate a microATX, ATX psu board and connect a large card through a riser.. it’s difficult to describe in words, but there are similar projects: a vertical tower, a motherboard on one side of the PC , and the video card is on the reverse, connected via a riser. the location of the drives is not necessary (either m2 on the board, or some space for a 2'5 format)... I'll look for an open project with an sfx psu and a MiniITX board later, I even printed it and used it, but maybe it will be fashionable to come up with something with microATX or! or at least with miniDTX - these are dimensions 19x19cm, a popular format for semi-office PCs 1151 socket - asrock h310m-hdv/dgs, 1150 - asus h81m-p... just add 2 cm in ready-made projects, or create new ones .. a lot of ideas , sorry if there are many mistakes, I am writing through Google translator.

      Thank you! I’m currently working on a ATX case that is printable on this bed size, it will be a little bigger to fit a full ATX motherboard but I’ll make it as small as possible 😁

      There is a case that supports two motherboards currently on market. It would allow one physical box in the center between two individuals (i understand I am in a fringe situation for this lol). Additionally it would allow a server inside the same enclosure as the day to day rig. The concept has always intrigued me. Anyways, you have made a case I’ve started to print and I love the design. Keep it up!

    Always satisfying seeing it slide on in. Recently got my Bambu Labs P1S and it's amazing but not big enough to print said pieces to make the tower.

      Yeah size is always a problem. I’ve got the luxury of the 300x300mm printbed and it makes everything so much easier but I notice my Ender 3 is just sitting there due to not being able to print most parts. I was actually considering getting a Neptune 4 MAX which is 400mm printbed instead 😁 but I notice the majority of 3D printer owners use Ender 3, Prusa Mk1-4, Bambu etc. I guess that’s the next challenge for me, to make something big with a small printer.

    I got an idea for a cool case from this video, a silenced airflow monster which would leverage the best things of 3d printing -> complexity is near free.
    Basicly a rounded box which has zero features outside except on the back, 1 vent and one big hole for all the cables, intake air etc.
    Interior shaping to silence noise.
    Laser cut alu or printed plate for motherboard etc. everything built on the desk, then just case slid over it.
    Dust filtering can be done 3D printed too, the complexity thing ;)
    Power button on the backside middle of the top vent.
    It would be near silent yet could have decent airflow, completely featureless to outside would just look like a indescript box. Quiet and doesn't feel warm to touch since plastic is excellent insulator.
    HOWEVER it will require a large format printer. But would be mass produceable and quite different on the market.
    I just might have to make a few now, how hard can it be? XD

      Oh yeah I think a cat can fit up there! Best part is, no fans actually exhausts out the top, meaning the cat should not really affect the temperatures either! 😁

    I really love your approach designing this case with minimum filament yet you make it sturdy even supporting radiator and gpu hanging like that... Impressive! I would like to modify your design since i am gonna rebuild my matx nas server so i can fit at least 5 3.5inch hard drive in your case

    FYI those style of heated inserts are significantly less effective than the ones with twisted knurling. Something to think about if someone decides to lift the case with all parts installed. In general something I’ve worried about with 3D printed cases is how much it flexes or twists once filled with parts, especially with a cube case with no top or bottom surface like this.

      The great thing in this scenario is how it will keep it’s shape due to all the panels interlocking, and the inserts are mainly to keep the top panel from sliding out rather than actually holding much weight.
      I’ll keep that in mind about the knurled inserts. I’m currently just using up the rest of a cheap set I got from Ebay a while ago but I’m soon out of M3 size so I’ll probably buy a new pack soon and then I’ll try the knurled ones 😊

      @@makerunit regarding atx I worked out case size would be H440 x W280mm xL500mm, the width isto allow to make space behind the MB for cable management

    This is the perfect mATX case with all the flexibility and options in mind. I would love to print this out but unfortunately I only have an Ender 3 Pro. :( Would love to see future projects be able to be printed in the most common 3d printing volume.

      Print volume is always a limiting factor. I myself also have an ender 3 but rarely use it due to most of my parts being bigger than the volume.
      The main reason behind making the largest possible parts is the aesthetics, to avoid having visible joints etc, but with a certain patterns I’m sure part joints can be conveniently hidden 😊

    That's an impressive work here, you should do a cas for NAS next, with something like 6 3.5 SATA minimum, that would help a lot of people

    I know this is probably impossible - but I think a really good step up from this would be to redesign each part so it can fit onto a standard 230*230 ender bed. I’m just gonna chop up the parts and hope it works out.

      Hi! Yes, thank you so much for joining! I remember the username from the Printables club notification I got earlier. So I’m not really familiar with the 5.25 drive format you’re referring to but I can look it up and see if I can make an adapter to support it for you based on the measurements I find online.
      Or are you referring to a complete NAS build?

      @@makerunit no a desktop most cases now have no external bays, My ideal case would be a case with two 5.25 bays hold an atx mb and 360 aio without having to get a full tower so long mid tower is ideal, my current
      case is focal design focus g is ok but only supports a 280 in front with a tight squeeze. and of course 3d printed would cut down the weight

      @@shearer6932 I see. A few of my cases have lacked support for HDD's and I get that a lot actually from people wanting support for HDD's
      I'll try to keep that in mind when I get to design an ATX case some time. And I'll look into having it support even 5.25" Drives! :)

    I'd love to see a wide atx/m-atx build, like a home theatre PC case. It'd be a bonus if it could handle a monitor sitting on top like a school PC for fully compact setups that don't have the budget for ITX/SFF. Doesn't make much sense talking about budget once 3D printing is involved, but my point stands lol. I've been considering getting into PC case creation and your videos are a huge inspiration, any chance we could get a "tour" of your printer and setup?

      Hi! I feel like you can still do a budget build when 3D printing is in the picture. Obviously if you already own the printer then the plastic price itself may not be that much. The design you’re asking is definitely possible and something I’m planning to try out some day, but I’m not sure when. I could combine this type of build into a console/htpc design that works both laying flat and standing up 😁

    Hello! I've seen some of your videos from the "Little Boy" series and I have a slightly funny case. My computer has an M-ATX board, and for cooling I have a 360mm AIO that together with the fans is a total of 63mm thick, in addition to the fact that my GPU measures 300mm (a 4060 with 3 fans), in addition to having a power supply ATX power supply and 2 SSD. That's why I was thinking about the possibility of having a "Little Boy ML", as with the "Little Boy SL". I know it's a very specific case, but I love the design of this range and I have no idea about designing things in 3D. [Sorry for my bad English btw :P]
    Edit 1*: I have found that in the United States this model of PC Case is sold: Vetroo AL-MESH-7C, and it is more or less what I thought, but being from Europe, I cannot buy it without it being worth almost 4 times what it would cost to print it.

    This is amazing! The only problem I'm facing, I can't find some nice base for full size ATX motherboard, so I can start building something around it. I'd love to turn my full size PC into something like an "overheight laptop"... I'd keep Power Supply outside the case, so case could stay as small as possible. Basically it needs to cover the motherboard, 32 Gb RAM, Ryzen 7 stock CPU fan, and my old but trusty GTX 1660 Super video card. Why would I want to do this? Because I travel to Europe quite often, and I could carry this with me. Without PSU of course, it's not needed there anyway... different Voltage and everything, when I get there, I'd use 220V one anyway, and it would be simple plug'n'play. I basically want to find the smallest possilble case that would hold those couple of items inside. Do you have any project that involves ATX full size motherboard by any chance? I am even ready to pay for project files if required. Thank you so much in advance!

    Awesome build! The way you handled tolerances is truly impressive. I would not hesitate charging for something that feels so complete and well thought-out.
    I understand that you recommend printing this in PETG. Have you had any issues with PETG reaching glass transition point and sagging / warping as a result? I am considering printing a PC case but I'm wondering how it may handle the temps

      Thank you! I’ve been using 3D printed cases for almost 3 years in a row now. Never experienced a single issue in regards to the plastic and heat, even in hot systems.
      Even with PLA I haven’t experienced any serious issues, but would still recommend PETG/ABS or ASA due to their higher temperature tolerance.

    Suggestion for future builds - Can you design a case with a mix of 3d printed and laser cut (acrylic or aluminium) parts? 3d printing is still very expensive where I live but laser cutting/cnc is pretty cheap. Maybe the large flat panels could be laser cut while the complex parts can be 3d printed.

    Please note the holes on 3.5" hard drives are *not* conventionally M3 threaded. This is different compared to 2.5" drives, which usually are.

      Oh okay! My bad. Perhaps they use 6-32 screws like the motherboard standoffs instead? Strange how my M3 screws fit right in though. Might this be different for different drives? Because the «hard drive screws» they seem to be normal M3 in the screw kit I have.

      @@makerunit the minor diameter of the holes is small enough that an M3 screw could tap its own threads. They should indeed be the 6-32 screws. :)

      @@AnnaVannieuwenhuyse I see, makes sense… I did actually notice something was slightly off without giving it much thought when attaching the screws when I come to think about it, but I guess I just assumed that it was same as the 2.5hdd, which is my bad. I’ll perhaps try to redesign the bracket to take regular 6/32 screws then. Perhaps mount the hard drive directly onto the sliding plate and use a slim mount in the side screw holes in the hard drive to attach more drives to that instead. That might work instead, anyways, thanks for letting me know this, as I do not want to ruin anyone’s hard drive threads due to misinformation. 😁

      It’s actually quite simple. All you do is heat up your soldering iron, put it inside the threaded insert and then push it gently down until it’s as deep as you want, then gently wiggle the soldering iron loose and make sure not to pull the insert back out, if that made any sense. There are specific tools available to make these even easier to insert.

    The sliding panels is very smart, question how much extra distance did you leave for clearence, 1mm? 0.5mm?

      I think for this design it’s about 0.3mm (on all sides, so total tolerance should be approx 0.6mm. I was a little generous with the tolerances here to make sure it would fit most peoples needs. Though may appear slightly loose for some with very accurate printers.

      Thank you! The volume is roughly 24 liters. About 320mm length, 250mm width and about 310 height (or around 320 with feet)I dont have the exact measurements in my head but it’s pretty close to that. Print volume required 300x300mm. 😊

    What filament did you use for that print? Kinda looks like PETG but shouldn't PLA should work too as the hot stuff shouldn't introduce more than 60c to the plastic

    Have yo thought of integrating holes or inserts to make the design opportunity for those who like to tinker with 3D printed vent shrouds to get extreme air cooling performance? That would me amazing to see... But I do acknowledge that would be a very dificult task

      I haven’t really given that any thought tbh… but the side wall sliding tracks can always be repurposed for custom ducts etc. Also my Advanced members will get the full .step files that are easily modifiable. 😊 I have thought about making fully flexible layout designs with universal mounting points so people can put the parts where they prefer themselves.

    Do you have any tips for designing the "motherboard tray"? I feel designing the case itself is relatively easy, though getting the dimensions correct for the I/O shield/GPU slots would be challenging. I've had a couple of case ideas floating around for a while though up until recently didn't have any CAD know how.
    I still haven't learned components/assemblies/joints in fusion 360.

      There are some data specs for motherboard mounts available if you dig a little deep online but honestly even I struggle to read them correctly. Mine are mostly based on my own measurements.
      The design of a case itself is relatively straight forward, but what takes time is making all the adjustments, testing, finding the correcy layout where no single part conflicts with another part, leaving room for cables, remembering everything, adding flexibility etc. considering airflow etc 😊

      It works already. Mini ITX uses the same mounts as micro atx, just less screws.
      And there are two different rear plates, one for ATX psu, and one for SFX psu. 😊

      @@makerunit try frame sampling yeah, I use optical flow to make glitchy visuals and stuff where the frames bend and morph like the artifacts on the video, so I'm 99% sure that's the problem

      As long as the total length is less than 300mm it should be fine. «RTX4080» is a very broad name given that there are so many varieties of 4080s depending on the manufacturer and cooling but length under 300mm should be fine. Then the card height (how long it sticks out from the motherboard) Will decide if you can use SFX or ATX psu 😊

      @@makerunit im actually in the middle of makeing it myself. im in no 3d designer sadly some might be a bit of testing and retesting till i get things where i want them and since im legitly only useing orca slicer to do all the editing its been intereting the last 5 hours
      but it seems like im going with a matx mb and sfx psu with 240mm aio support with room for up to 4 more 120mm fans and 2x 80-90mm fans and should fit up to 290mm gpus all printed on a 300x300 sovolsv06 plus

    is there anyway to print this using acrylics instead of 3dprint? I don't have a 3d printer and buy a custom cutting on a acrylic sounds more cheap than 3dprint. genuinely asking

      Hi! Thank you for showing interest in this case, but unfortunately I think I’m going to have to say no, mostly due to how it’s designed it wound have needed to be designed in a very different way due to the different mounts and sliding tracks.
      A similar design would perhaps be possible but it had to be designed specifically for acrylic from the beginning then.
      3D printing allows for designs that are literally impossible in most other manufacturing methods. 😅

      @@muhammadkhaidirsyafei4943 It’s possible, but not recommended, mainly due to the way the top panel is designed here, as it’s slid into a 45 degree slot and too much upward force and it can end up coming out of the track.

      @@muhammadkhaidirsyafei4943 I’d say the order doesn’t really matter too much but maybe the internal chassis first.
      First the two side panels, then bottom, then internal top panel and then the feet, make sure it all fits together as you like and holds your parts, then the rear, top and front last probably 😊

    Hah I just commented on your last video only figure out you already made a mATX version. However, I don't love the cube dimensions. It feels really dated with cube cases. I'd prefered a slimmer design of the ITX-version. But maybe that's hard to pull off?
    I would imagine you'd just have to scale up the ITX version and just forget about 3.5" drives. Most people don't use hard drives anyways. The same layout as the ITX but two 120mm fans in the front as intake would've made the build smaller with less dead space. Also the posibilty to mount the AIO in the front or in the top instead, and vertically mount the PSU over the cpu just as with the ITX build instead of in front of the graphics card which creates all the bulkyness.

      @@makerunit Sounds really nice. I love the astetics of all of these cases you made. It's just that I prefer the smallest possible dimensions. And when comes to price/performance while space effecient I think mATX mobo plus ATX PSU is the sweet spot. I modded my Cooler master NR200p to fit a full size mATX, motherboard, an ATX PSU as well as a 27cm long RTX 3070 and a twin tower cooler. It's almost as compact it can get. Buuuut I think a modified version of your ITX case made to fit a mATX mobo and ATX PSU would both look better, perform better while beying yet a bit more compact.
      Anyway I really looking forward to your ATX case. And your content inspired me to buy a 3D printer for myself. I only have used my ex flash forged for some smaller projects before. But now I want to get into printing and designing myself even though I'm a noob. :)

    Nice, I'm sure it was a lot of work but I have a problem, my printer can only print 253mm³ max (it's an X1c).
    If I'm right and if the slicer allows it i can fit a 349mm by 253mm 9mm thick part -I chose 9mm as it seemed realistic but if it's thinner then the sheet can be longer by a few mms, or you can calculate it if the design needs thinner/thicker panels, 362-2x✓2xTheWidth- still I don't wanna split any part in pieces because the glue is ugly and weak but obviously the surface finish is better if it's printed flat.
    The mobo is 244 mm x 195 mm, GPU is 135 mm x 260 mm dual slot and the PSU is an atx one, I use the stock air cooler which is 55mm high and a 2.5inch ssd but I'm ok with just shoving it in if there's no space left for a rack, I don't have fans for it so I can purchase the ones you end up being able to fit
    So could you create a design for my needs too? Litte boy SM for example

      244 x 195mm is a motherboard format I’m not familar with, must be some version of a mATX motherboard then I guess. Does it use the same mounting holes as a regular mATX motherboard?

    This is almost perfect. I just need a Similar mATX case that can be printed on a smaller printer. Im currently using a Bambu Lab P1S. It only has a build volume of 256x256x256. =(

      @@makerunitSounds great. I really need to learn CAD software, but its so un-intuitive and difficult coming from someone who primarily only ever learned graphic arts software like Photoshop and fireworks etc.

      @@secondleasegamer8312 I found it to be suprisingly simple to learn cad. The main challenge is coming up with the ideas and thinking of all the design features, not the CAD itself. The main challene is to make it printable without too much crazy overhangs etc.

      @@makerunitWell, Im 35 now, and I grew up teaching myself to program and how to use graphics art software. All 3 CAD softwares I tried to learn made no sense to me and was difficult to even make a simple sheath case. In the end, I managed, but the difficulty at making something so simple with measurements I'd already known, makes me hesitant to revisit. Seriously painful experience.

      @@secondleasegamer8312 I understand. I started learning in Sketchup, and it worked for a while but was not very 3D printer friendly, and complex shapes were really hard to edit once they were made.
      Now in Shapr3D it’s a dream! I was a little thrown off at first with sketches and planes and all kinds of weird functions but once you get it it’s so awesome and easy to do.

    I have a low power/heat build as a media server. Can I use PLA for the whole case?

      I think PLA will be just fine. None of my previous PLA only cases have had any issues due to heat, and some have been relatively hot as well! But if your PC will spend a lot of time standing in direct sunlight you may want to choose PETG or ABS. (For example by a window)

      Thank you so much the low profile gpus come usually of that size so maybe keep available for others too as lm not the only one who would love it to support such a small and power GPU like the 4060lp.
      And I'm hundred percent sure u will grow immensely if u continue the way u are,
      The algorithm can't do much when someone works so hard and replies to every comment in his videos and makes them with so much patience

      Keep in mind that many of the parts are a few years old so none of the parts are the most recent generations.

      Are you referring to just the PC hardware? Or the building hardware as well. Like screws and inserts etc.?

      I made a diy drawer. 4 aluminum angles (2 per side) from the top to the back of the 19inch rack and putted a wood board in between. You can screw down all small pieces (router, power cord...) onto it.. Take it out to work on it and put it back in afterwards. The only work is marking and drilling 8 holes into the angles.
      My old Anet A8 was also on one of this boards and inside of the cabinet.

      @@makerunit main use case is when you have multiple PCs. So yes servers, desktop, network lab etc. Its like wardrobe but for computers and its standardized to 19"" width and height is in U (1U=1+3⁄4 inches, 44,45mm). Most rack mounted PC/server cases are 1U to 4U. Also racks come with different sizes in U, like full 42U to 4U that you can hang on wall. Also depth can be different. I use startech 12u frame, but yes its not for everyone :)

      A maximum of 2x 3.5hdd’s but can also additionally hold a total of 3-4 extra 2.5 hdd’s on the lower mount.

      There is space for hard drives in this case… 😁 one 3.5inch in the front, optionally two 3.5’s on the side if not using a radiator and some 2.5 inch drives down in the front corner.

      Hi! Theoretically possible, yes, but it would require quite heavy modifications to keep it structurally strong.
      My recommendation is to wait a bit because I’m working on more models to come out the next few months that will be designed to support large parts but also to be printable using smaller print volumes! 😊

      I know it makes sense to call it width but width is actually in the vertical thickness in a standing case. (How many slots wide it is)
      Height is how far out it sticks from the Motherboard.
      It’s probably to keep it simple when comparing it to the CPU cooler which also measures height in millimeters sticking out of the motherboard.

      I’m using a pretty heavily modified Creality CR10 v2. It’s got a lot of upgrades like a E3D Hemera extruder, custom cooling duct and a new magnetic build plate. It’s also got an upgraded mainboard. 😊

      Most PETG filaments are glossy, at least the ones I’ve used.
      I’ve seen a few matte options online but never tried. Perhaps I should some day 😊

    Here from Matt's channel and i liked your design very much, BTW are you going to make NAS case the same size (mATX - because of pcie expansion cards for 10g ethernet etc) of the one in this video but modified to fit 6 to 8 3.5 inch hard drive in tool less bay and no dedicated gpu , just to run Home server and NAS from one Cabinet.
    it would be good if the 3.5 inch drive bays has a little 3d printed tool to accomodate 2.5 inch hdd or ssd too something like this video : ua-cam.com/users/shortsXklOu7zSd44 ,
    The Corsair Carbide SPEC-01 cabinet has a toolless drive bay if you want a reference
    it can include rubber support for reducing vibration

      Hi! Long term I’m planning on making a NAS build, not sure what form factor yet but hot swappable drives is one of my hopes to accomplish for that build. I still need to learn a bit more about NAS builds as it’s generally not something I’ve been working with before but I’m eager to learn and I hope to make it in the future. 😁
      NAS is generally a highly requested topic in my videos.

      @@makerunit thank's for the reply there are many itx 3d cases on reddit and other sites, but couldn't find single good mATX case. people who uses itx builds mostly uses 1 gig ethernet from the board, some big nas users uses 10 gig network card which requires a pcie slot and there's only 1 pcie port on itx boards which might be used by pcie to sata adapter, so there won't be any port left for 10 gig ethernet , this problem can be solved if the case fupports mATX form factor

      First of all, PETG can withstand temperatures of up to 80 degrees. And if a GPU reaches «80 degrees» during for example gaming, that’s at the processing core of the GPU, the surrounding air will never reach those temperatures, the air around it will MAYBE reach 50 at most and then again be instantly cooled by the airflow in the case.
      Even during printing the printbed surface is constantly actually 80 degrees C for many hours no problems 😊
