    • @dregenius

      That's true, assuming there are a reasonable number of vias on the section of the board in contact with the thermal pad... I understand this video is for fun and the item is more a novelty, conversation piece but for those who are asking the question of “case vs caseless” literally…cases are important for numerous reasons. Dust, animals, accidents, spilling drinks/food, acoustics, moving locations/homes, etc. Also, air movement over components is better than free releasing heat/air both for cooling and cleaning. Then there are physical safety reasons for children and animals from electric shock or body parts in attached moving fans.

    • @MidWitPride
      @MidWitPride 3 роки тому +3

      If you are determined to go caseless, you are better off just building the thing into your motherboard's cardboard box it came in. Have a case fan kept in place via double sided tape/zip ties blow air towards the VRMs, and you are done. Paying some $179 for this thing doesn't make much sense.
      It's a pretty hobo mode PC, but if you are situating the PC somewhere it is very unlikely to get anything spilled/knocked on it, and you don't have any kids or pets running around, then sure. At least cleaning the dust off will be easy if you have no case.
