This was absolutely amazing. Even though neither needs help, I can see Martha Wash and Nell Carter doing a duet on these songs.

this is why I didnt watch shows like "American Idol" or "The Voice"...if I need to look at something sexy and alluring or cute, there are a number of things I can do, to make that happen. But when it comes to singing, Im just interested in THE VOICE...and if the person can really sing?...I'll know it IMMEDIATELY. Martha is such a pro, that the casual observer may have missed the little nuances that make for a great singer...and the first thing that has to happen, is for you to put the listening audience at ease, right away...especially, if they dont really know you. And you can put them at ease, by talking to them..as you prepare them for your voice. Your body language is CRUCIAL...you need to have eye contact..and you should smile. She did all of those things, BEFORE she sang one note. And then came that incredible voice. She is a legend...plain and simple.

I hope she records an album of jazz standards. It's still not too late for her to finally get the career definitely hit album that she has deserved since the 1970s. She is the queen of dance music, but, it's "of the moment". Those sales aren't going to be the same, as a jazz album, which will be a timeless catalog album.

Such an underrated and not recognized like she should be, before there was Whitney there was Martha belting out beautiful notes.

We live in a sleepy , slow county called Cornwall, UK where the elderly come to die and the young are forced out because of the high rising property market and no opportunities and where the music is not happening , thank heavens for channels like this and wonderful artists like Martha that can transport me to a vibrant uplifting world ;D she's the BOMB baby ;D Thank you for this video Auntie Dionne

Sad- she loved Aretha. She did sing backgrounds on Aretha's Freeway of Love.
