I love when you are driving through Natchez and everything is lovely - but you look over and see a house like this situated in the prettiest safe. It’s like a treasure hunt. ❤
How is it these houses look tiny until I see Laine on the porch!? I think I've found my favorite house you've ever shown. 😍 I'm so proud of you two! I knew one day this would be your 'day job'! And soon enough you'll have a million subs! Don't forget us who've been here since the beginning!! I have a feeling you're going to blow up soon. Loved the drone work!! 😊
Another EXCELLENT video. Thanks Laine and Kevin! On a personal note, my wife and I spent the first night of our honeymoon here in May 1977. It was then a BnB!
The Wigwam blew me away! What a well thought out decorative combination of exquisite old and new exciting new. What a gem, thanks for sharing this with us!
Exquisite. This was one of my dear friend Hal’s restorations. I remember him telling me how he lamented over not being able to save the wall paintings in the ballroom. So much had deteriorated so badly. He loved that house so; but, there were so many more homes in Natchez that needed saving that he felt it was best to sell and move into the next one. Thank goodness he did. So many homes have his hand in their continued existence.
I know there are purists all around. On occasion, I might count myself among them, but my favorite style of home - any home - is one that encompasses elements and pieces from different periods of times. It’s always a good indication that a place and its occupants have a story and a life.
I vote 'Favorite'...of all the houses you've shown, this light and airy home takes the cake. It's beautiful contemporary decor sympathetically compliments the ornate architectural detail - and can easily accommodate day-to-day living . No cramped dark rooms in this house - it is 'perfectly' proportioned. That bricked backyard outside space...speechless. It actually looks like it was picked up from Savannah, GA and placed there in Natchez. It's very special! Love It!
This home is perfection!! I love how the homeowner has used the beautiful warm white walls to make the spaces flow throughout the home. The antiques and original features are so tastefully juxtaposed with modern art and furniture pieces. It is all very nice indeed.
This one is my favorite, too! How lucky are we that Laine is the "historic home whisperer' and we are privy to the secrets they reveal only to her!!! Thank you!!
Wow, just wow. The attention to detail in this house is just so exquisite. You don’t see houses like this anymore. The architecture and the add-ons were fabulous. I would totally be happy here.
2 1/2 years ago we purchased an 1848 Italiante that has much of the character stripped of it. There are clues, such as the float 180 degree staircase and the 9 1/2 door rally solid chestnut door. The room that we use as the living room is 26' x16' and I suspect was at one time a ball room. It has irregularly width flooring like you shown, but is chestnut.
This home is the absolute best home I have EVER seen. I love how the owners combined modern touches such as art along with the antique features. Old homes don’t need to look “ period correct” in styling. The neutral color scheme is also a refreshing break away from traditional Victorian jewel tones. Its fabulous!!!
SHOUT OUT to Kevin ... I've been watching your videos for a few years now and I don't believe I've ever mentioned it before but his photography is mind blowing, just beautiful. I can't really find the words I'd like to use but those basically sum it up.
Just came to MS for week for our wedding anniversary and enjoyed it so much going back next month. We started looking at properties there. Would love this home. We will be keeping our home and farm here in GA of course, but have seen so many beautiful and large properties down there. My family has been in NC and GA since before we were country or they where states. My husband's family is same in GA and AL . But we became good friends with some historical plantation curators down there and got some items from the original home and fell in love. Definitely looking for homes in the area .
A couple things: This house might be my favorite, as it is so light and bright and the decor is plenty, but curated (not over-decorated, IMHO). It looks immaculately maintained. Absolutely stunning, with youthful, timelessness. A skilled eye chose every touch in that home as it sits, restraint shown (as sometimes these gorgeous homes have just had too much stuffed into them). Laine y'all ruin us for others trying to do similarly to what you do. I have no patience/interest in channels where the narrator really doesn't know anything. You know your stuff! We learn so much here. Thank you for this tour, what a beauty and considering how insane prices are these days, I expected the price to be FAR higher. What a place!!!
This one has always been so outstanding- went there in the 90's. Was always in a quandary about where the modern kitchen ended up but as a chef I actually would love it- it still has plenty of formal rooms
Oh my I must agree this is also my favorite of all the homes you have toured with us. The architecture, style and furnishings are just exquisite. I see myself watching this again and again in order to absorb all its beauty. Thanks for another wonderful tour. Love this channel, I have been with you almost from the beginning and look forward to each time you post.
What a beautiful home with great size rooms. I am so glad that so much of the original character remains. The molding and gas lights are incredible. Thank you so much for sharing.
Glorious! Flawless. Except for me,a little less pillows and accessories. I like every inch of the home. They family has lovingly kept in absolute pristine condition! Wonderful!
this is just so beautiful, the furniture, the colors the nick nacks its so inspiring, I think my great grandmothers genes must be stong in me as I love this ERA! thanku for showing it!
This home is indeed a treat! So unique. It has the feel of an Italian country villa, with the lightness of a Southern home of the period. I love the sight-line through the arched doorways, and the fact that the ornamentation, while detailed and gorgeous, is limited to areas of important visual impact. I love the kitchen, but that ballroom is fantastic!! The home is not too large, maintaining the charming 'cottage' vibe. The solarium room leading to the brick patio reminds me of the few very early historic homes here in S. CA, where the climate encourages outdoor entertaining. I hope the new owners of this home will treasure it as the current occupants clearly do.
This was breath taking absolutley. Just unbelievably magical & graceful in every aspect. A dream house indeed. I would just walk in with my wardrobe, no changes required in this beautiful abode. Incredible restoration 👏👏👏❤
I started singing “ I am the 5th sister “ when you were sharing the history of Wigwom!! The house is stunning and with Lane narrating the video I got chills!! My bags are packed and I am ready to move❤!! Thanks Lane and Kevin , I have been dealing with a foot injury that occurred due to a “ NEEDLE ANT BITE ! That bitch is mean and I have had a hole the size of a golf ball in my foot for 56 weeks ! Had surgery 4 weeks ago and next is a skin graft 😂! So I visit with you guys every day and with legs high in the air I get a feeling of Heller come on in !! I love what you guys do . Today is a MARATHON OF YOU GUYS !! This house is lovely !
Stunning 🌟 Too many unique features to mention. Love this home ❤ Love Natchez MS 🙏🏼 I have had the good fortune to visit several homes in the area during the Pilgrimage season many years ago. Thank you
What a stunning house. I love how these videos are like a mini history lesson. Wigwam is so lovingly intact , how are tgese homes preserved so perfectly?
I love this home!!! But also still love Pearl. Still praying about that house. I’ve had 2 major surgeries in the last 4 months!! Right knee total replacement and left hip total replacement so I have slowed down a little but still would love to have one of these fines homes. Love y’all’s videos, always!!!!❤️❤️❤️
What about the idea of recreating Pearl??? Laine and Kevin you probably have the blueprints or at least an excellent idea of her design. She was so beautiful, building her again from scratch would be amazing. These historical houses do not always have to be from the past. What do you think?
Hi Laine and Kevin,OMG!!!!!! You are absolutely right, that room with the ceiling muriel is the most gorgeous room that I have ever seen!!!! And that fireplace mantel!!!! Thanks for sharing you two . You never disappoint!!!
Oh... oh... oh... this jouse is gorgeous. Right off the bat, coming in from the beautiful front porch, the entry hall is perfect. Console and mirror on the left immediately upon entering - I want them! The plaster ceiling moulding and medallion are just beautiful. Then opposite the stairs, that fabulous huge mirror - PLEASE where did you get it? Functioning gasoliers - stupendous. The moulding trim, ceiling medallions and door and window casings throughout are divine. Chandeliers are perfect. Mirrors also divine. The furnishings are wonderful - there is not one inch of this house I am not pining for. Whoever chose all of these appointments is a design genius. The ballroom ceiling is astounding. I would love to see how the wall murals would have gone with it, because despite the photos the surviving fragment has a very Pompeii-esque look.
It seems like all great movies also have great music and this vlog is certainly both. If I owned this house, I'd probably put an A/C unit in the garage and mostly live there so I wouldn't do any damage. I would at least implement a "socks only" rule in the house. Thanks Laine.
Thank you. For bringn us along! This one. I must say Im in love!! And I love your dress as always you look lovely. Ill make it down that way one of these days! Well much love and many blessings . I'm so thrilled for the both of yous!!! 🔨⛏🧰🧹🗝📐📏✏
ABSOLUTELY GLORIOUS home!!!! In every respect this was such a lovely tour of a home one can’t help but be inspired by! Thank You SO much for this informative and interesting tour!!

The south has lots of really beautiful houses.
I love when you are driving through Natchez and everything is lovely - but you look over and see a house like this situated in the prettiest safe. It’s like a treasure hunt. ❤
One of the MOST BEAUTIFUL HOMES!!!!!
This home is a jewel box -- there is nothing less that can describe both the architecture and the architectural elements throughout this home.
How is it these houses look tiny until I see Laine on the porch!? I think I've found my favorite house you've ever shown. 😍

YESSS ! Thats what I always think too haha

He definitely had a part in the restoration of so many of the homes. I was told that he is the one who added the courtyard to the Wigwam also.
I know there are purists all around. On occasion, I might count myself among them, but my favorite style of home - any home - is one that encompasses elements and pieces from different periods of times. It’s always a good indication that a place and its occupants have a story and a life.
@officiallyshane...
Well spoken, and a wise observation.
Kudos❤

I was thinking the same thing

I am an old soul! I want to go back and use gasoliers again. How beautiful and entrancing!
I was raised in Natchez but never really was able to tour this home, but it is a real jewel love it!!
This one is my favorite, too! How lucky are we that Laine is the "historic home whisperer' and we are privy to the secrets they reveal only to her!!! Thank you!!

The art in this house is so beautiful. Someone has a good eye

Wow! Thank you for the beautiful compliment. But I must say that Laine also shoots at least half of the b roll and is very good at it.
From the outside to the inside everything is so pleasing to the eye!
Beautiful.
She's BEAUTIFUL!! I saw the thumbnail and ran over here to see her lol!!
Beautiful home, nice to see the preservation of the plasterwork, cypress floors and the marble fireplaces.

Simply stunning....

STUNNING. I could live there, very happily. Thank you for showing it to us.
Natchez is full of treasures! Thank you for bringing us another gem, Laine and Kevin! 🥰
Marvelous tours you provide via Restoration Nation.
The harmony of the house is perfection.

Wow! That was exquisite! If I only had 1.4 mil... The gasaliers!! I could stare at them all day.
Oh my gosh! Those front windows!!! But then that mural blew me away! They don’t built houses like this anymore!
How absolutely grand! Talk about a dream home. 💚💜
What a beautiful home with great size rooms. I am so glad that so much of the original character remains. The molding and gas lights are incredible. Thank you so much for sharing.

Loved this home and your guidance. Where did you get that wonderful dress? You looked great in it and so would my wife!
Lane, I am so with you!!!! I absolutely LOVE great plaster work, moldings, murals & built-in cabinetry. This truly is a jewel of a home!
So many features that I grew up with in my grandparents and also my aunts house

This home is so beautiful but also feels so comfortable. I wish I could move in!
Seriously a beautiful, beautiful home ❤❤❤
Fabulous! I couldn't wait for this one. The Wigwam has always been one of our favorites as well. The rounded doors and windows are just stunning.
