It seems like negative comments are starting to get to you. Ignore them! You guys work so hard and give us such great information. Your clothing is completely inconsequential. This isn't s fashion channel. We love Our Restoration Nation! PS I prefer painted woodwork shhh don't tell anyone my dirty secret
My goodness, Laine, what kind of comments are you receiving?! It’s so sad that you feel you have to scold and/or lecture us all because of what I hope is a small percentage of negative comments. You are a beautiful woman, hard working and knowledgeable with a devoted husband. Revel in the positives and try to ignore the negatives! Speak to those of us who enjoy your presentations as if the naysayers don’t exist. Just don’t acknowledge them.
You have no reason to apologize Lainey regardless of how you are dressed you're beautiful Kevin is a lucky man but you're true beauty shines from within it shines through due to your meticulous love of restoration and your love of Kevin and family
If you hadn’t said anything I would never have thought anything negative. I was thinking how wonderful you looked and always wish I could look just half as good!
As much as I love original kitchens I will have to say that she did the absolute best job I’ve ever seen replicating at 20s look for a kitchen. Would love to see a photograph of the original kitchen
I liked you before, I LOVE YOU now! I also publish YT videos and understand how horrible some people can be for no reason. You look beautiful as always in todays video. Kudos to you for your honesty and for shutting down negativity. Wishing you a speedy recovery and continued success! Beth from Nashville, TN.
My gasp when I saw the ironing board AND you said that tassel on the fixture in the butler's pantry was original! This couple is proof that preservation works! I would defend this house's honour with you if I lived near. So beautiful to know you'll make sure it goes to the right next steward. 💜
I work in fashion and I wouldn’t have even noticed your outfit if you hadn’t said anything. Actually it just looks classic to me. White tee and dark pants, it allows the building to be the focus. You’re doing great
This house is a delight! This has many of the details I’ve seen in Chicago bungalows built during the mid-1920s. They had a combination of painted and stained wood, oak and pine floors and linoleum (which is NOT the same thing as vinyl flooring) in the kitchens. You look comfy and casual in today’s video, Laine. I hope you recover quickly and well. Thank you for showing us this lovely home. I am always ready with my coffee on Thursday mornings to hang out in this community!🌸
Beautiful home! Best bonus - being your neighbors! I would strongly encourage to make NO mention whatsoever of ANY negative comment(s) you receive. I truly believe that’s the motivation of people who post as such - they love hearing and/or reading “they got someone’s attention.” They aren’t worth your thought, time, energy or mention. All the best to you two! Kathleen
I was so happy to see someone else who appreciates original windows ! We’ve been told so many times we should replace our original 1913 windows for home value (we do have storm windows ) They’ve done a wonderful job preserving while updating. Love the pantry fixture and the paint color ! For the record other than Sundays and Fridays out , I dress the same most of the time ! What a special history
My parents' 1969 home have original windows. Two need replacing because they cracked. They used to have storm windows. I wish we could keep the original windows and add storm windows again.
Do people actually comment on your clothing? I tune in to look at the houses. You always look great and I love the way you teach us about the arcitecture.
How amazing to know the rich history of your home and have its origins in your back yard! Beautiful home, thank you for sharing. Featuring and giving tours of historic homes for sale near you is how I found your channel several years ago, THEN I learned that you also restore and reimagine historic homes to new life. Love love. Your outfit is darling just like you, and holy smokes! Your hair is truly a crowning glory today! Heal quickly and well friend! God Bless you for tackling a video during recuperation ❤❤❤
Oh gosh, Laine, are you all right? I hope that you heal very quickly and that the pain is manageable! You're beautiful no matter how you're dressed. Please take care of yourself!
I thought your outfit was cute😂! Hope you’re feeling better. This house is very familiar to anyone in the older parts of the northeast but not at its wonderful level of preservation. Lots of things got “updated.” And now we’ve entered a terrible period of remuddling for millennials that’s as bad as the 1970s. For modern people these are very comfortable houses. The room proportions, the detail etc make then much homier for us than earlier styles. Although the owner of that house is lucky to have a reasonably sized kitchen. Many kitchens were shrunk when gas displaced huge coal stove battleships and middle class homes often had Irish maids.
Laine, there is absolutely nothing wrong with how you are dressed, nor did you have to explain why you are dressed that way to anyone! You look fabulous, as always! What's more important is that you are healthy, you are on this video, and you are doing well! That house is spectacular. The exterior bricks are beautiful. The only thing I would change inside that house is the kitchen (1 example: french door type glass cabinets would make the area larger and compliments the french doors in the house), one of the bathrooms, and really make the side porch into a real 4 season area. I would also renovate that basement to house a games room, a powder room, and true mechanical/storage areas. I would enhance the outside gardens with additional landscape options. As it relates to your statement about painted woodwork, people also need to know that folks in the early 20th century often painted their woodwork because they wanted their homes to be light and airy and not dark and dreary; especially a home like the one we just viewed which has windows galore. I enjoyed the video!
I am sorry that there have been unkind remarks. You are a lovely lady . Like most people viewing your channel, we are here to enjoy the homes and benefit from your vast knowledge. God bless you and Kevin.
I can attest to the truthfulness of Laine’s comments. I live in a 1929 Apt Building and the vast majority of the woodwork was originally painted. Thank you for sharing this precious masterpiece with us. It is so wonderful to see a home that hasn’t changed at all since it was originally built.
Hi, I don't normally leave comments but I have to say something. Please don't let those unhappy bullies stress you out about how you look in your videos. If anyone is judging your looks and not the home, it's because they are jealous of you and what you've made for yourself. Your showing beautiful homes, not running a fashion show lol. Be happy, be yourself, and wear what makes you comfortable cuz those people don't matter in any way, shape, or form in your life....❤
Most importantly, please take the time to recuperate! I sincerely appreciate you both bringing this gem to us all. I wouldn't change a thing! (Except some new, period appropriate window dressings 😉. Get well soon !!
Our house was built in 1935, but had many similar features - doors, floors, hidden ironing board, walk-up attic. We lived there nearly 30 years. Great houses!!
You have NOTHING to apologize for!! What you and Kevin bring to these historical homes and your wealth of information regarding them is beyond irreproachable. I would love to have you guys as neighbors! I think this home is a steal of a bargain. I would have thought at least a million with the 2 acres of land. Keep up the good work as time permits. Laine, you are gorgeous and hugs to you as you recover ❤❤
Laine, I hope you have a complete recovery and live a long, long, long, and healthy, healthy, healthy life. I wear ponchos every day. No one cares about what I wear. I stay off camera though. I have a vlog for friends. What you are doing is for strangers more than anything, and don't you forget it! You are helping strangers by teaching, cheering us up with your feisty explanation. If you ever want a poncho, say the word, and I will get one to you. I have been giving them away to people in the hospital or breast feeding for 15 years. Sheets in hospitals are never long enough to cover the shoulders! What I like most about my ponchos? Either the silk for the diamond poncho, or the pockets with the ponchos made with pillowcases. Pillowcase ponchos are fully lined.
You are amazing--I LOVE your tours. As a Little Rock resident, I get so excited to see so many beautiful local homes. This is no exception. Thank you, and best wishes in your surgery recovery!
Sis, you ooze southern lady grace and beauty. Always! And in every single one of your restoration video. Take care of yourself and wish you well! The home is gorgeous! Maybe with time and new neighbors your hearts will heal from the loss of your friends. I will be praying you get better and the Lord blesses you with kind neighbors.
I don't think you owe an explanation for your attire. You are a beautiful lady. I pray that you are recovering well from your surgery. Thank you and Kevin for sharing your love of recovery and restoration. Much love to the two of you from Mount Holly North Carolina.
Lane, your outfit is just fine! Don't you dare apologize for yourself - you don't owe it to any of us!! I hope you're recovery is quick with minimal discomfort.
Beautiful home and reminds me of my parents first home built in 1923. It wasn't a Tudor revival but woodwork was painted, but had beams on the ceiling of the main living room. Hardwood floors throughout except one room had fir floors. This is a beautiful stunning home and anyone should be thrilled to own it. If a house could speak it's history would be a treasure trove of secrets.
You still look very lovely. I’m sorry that you feel that you have to make that comment. Sending wonderful thoughts for your recovery to come. Appreciate both of you guys with the knowledge and tours. Speedy recovery my friend.
We live in a 1970’s mid century modern home and it has one of those ironing boards cabinets in our laundry room. It has both the large and small ironing boards. The large one has a built in metal plate to rest the hot iron on. We’re remodeling our home and will definitely keep this feature. I love it!
That was an amazing tour, Laine and Kevin. I wish I had the money, and an American Citizenship to purchase the house backing onto your property. I love history and can absolutely see myself living in such a perfect residence with all my antique furniture. I would have you both over for dinner and drinks at least every second weekend! We'll use my grandma's silverware and china. Cheers! Darryl
Love everything about it...I would move right in and spend my money on a charming storybook cottage garden with a formal hedge giving privacy from the street with a peek-a-boo front entry gate. The home is absolutely charming!
Well, wouldn't you know it! My dream house becomes available finally, and I am now too old! I loved everything about this house! The colors, flooring, lighting, just everything is perfect! Strange that the owners are moving to North Carolina, that is where I am from. I could never move from the South! I really appreciated the lady's comment to just say " bless your heart." We in the South DO KNOW what that means! Here's to a speedy recovery, and a toast to your beauty! Kevin, you did ( as always, ) an excellent job of filming.
I wanted to say this as soon as I saw the thumbnail But tried to be patient till I see whole video but I cant wait any more to say that this house gives me the vibes of my dream home.I want to live a simple life with less things to manage.I wonder and hope that one day with God's blessings I do have my dream home. You are a deep researcher ,knowledgeable and a beautiful person with charming personality. Thanks for the another wonderful video 👍
Wow! This house is incredible! Those gorgeous floors, the windows, the exterior! I absolutely love it and have so much admiration for the family taking such beautiful care of it so that it truly does look like it originally did in 1925. Just fantastic!
I love your channel Laine. You are always a lady and an extremely articulate communicator. I’ve learned so much watching your channel and have always admired your style. I hope you’re feeling better soon.
The home is amazing just like Laine. You and Kevin are great teachers and I love watching the before and after of all the videos I've watched so far. I am so excited about the journey of Hope, love & hugs to you both!
Beautiful house! This time period is one of my favorites. I did not even notice your outfit until you mentioned it; it’s sad that this type of disclaimer feels needed due to the negative comments of certain people. I just hope you know that this type of judging is not at all true of the vast majority of viewers… most of us are just happy to spend a few minutes touring cool old houses with you and Kevin.
It makes me sad that you have had viewers comment on your clothing. You always look beautiful, and I think your outfit is cute. This is such a lovely home. My daughter and son in law used to live near your neighborhood, and there are so many beautiful homes near downtown Conway. I hope the Lord brings you the perfect neighbors, and that the beautiful couple that loved it for so long will have peace about who the next caretakers will be. It is truly lovely.
A gorgeous masterpiece….beautiful in so many ways. Thank you for your tour. So glad you are doing better….God Bless you and again thank you for sharing your love.
I am confused why what you are wearing is ever an issue. You always look great. You are beautiful, well spoken, and extremely intelligent and knowledgeable in your field.
What a beautiful house, I wouldn't change a thing, it's stunning architecture. I shared your video Kevin and Layne. I don't understand how people think they have the right to tell you how to dress in your video. You looked beautiful and you always do. Have a fabulous weekend you guys. ❤
Laine, when I first started watching your video, I couldn't put my finger on what was different about you. It wasn't what you were wearing. You looked even more striking than before. I love your "natural" look and your hair is just lovely. I've been to Conway before and it is a beautiful town. Keep up the good work!
Well dang, Laine! I thought you looked beautiful! Haters gonna hate no matter what. I love this gorgeous home and I’d love to be your neighbor. Now that y’all are MS residents you should tour the Eudora Welty home in Jackson. It is beautiful.
I love your channel and have watched a lot... when you said this was a house with touches of Spanish revival, I did a double take... my house on University Avenue in Little rock was built in 1924... it has a lovely arch in the kitchen... and unfortunately the original sink is gone... but I know it has Spanish touches because I spoke with a lady who had known the people who lived here... greer. Lyle (The photographer). Grew up in my house... at one point the roof was tiled with red rounded tiles.. so I have always thought of it as a craftsman bungalow with Spanish touches... keep up your lovely channel and I will keep watching...
What a beautiful treasure.I don't blame yous one bit for bein protective of this home. I mean after all who ever gets it will be your neighbors. Im prayin the perfect folks come along. Well much love and blessings to you and your furry kids.
I always love the videography of the details that make each one of these historical homes unique. I enjoy the history you bring to life and your research is always a wonder. Thank you Laine & Kevin. We love you❤
You didn't even need to say that-- You look super cute today! Hope you recover soon from your surgery! Thanks for bringing us yet another gorgeous home to drool over... 🙂
I like it just as it is and the painted surfaces are perfect. The only thing i would note is the lack of hard surface driveway from the street through the port cocherre and on to the garage. I know it rains quite a bit down there and im sure you get some snow so driving on the lawn would be rather destructive of it. I'm glad you are working to preserve this place in it's original state.
Beautiful home, a beautiful 1929 Tudor in my neighborhood has iron railing on the stairs too, a little more decorative than these. I spent the night in Conway many years ago, I remember it being a college town. I was on a trip with my parents from northern California to northern Louisiana to visit my Dad's Aunt, on the return trip we stopped in Malvern to visit my dad's cousin who had a jewelry store there and then on to Conway.. I agree I don't want people walking in my front door and seeing the kitchen sink
You could wear a tow-sack & still look beautiful. Great video. Love the piano music. So calming. Thank you for all the gorgeousness you & Kevin bring to us.
Love this Laine! I'm always thrilled with the butler's pantry in homes as well. I have an ironing boards like that in my kitchen! I love it. Have a second one up off the sleeping porch ...love the convenience.
I love your channel but don't comment much. Your channel is like a time machine...takes us back to where most of us wish we still lived. You look very good for someone who just had surgery. I love your hair!
Thanks so much for another fabulous tour. What an amazing house and my heart sings that so much is original. It also has a beautiful garden. I hope you get some wonderful new neighbors.
Absolutely STUNNING!!!!! Thank you for sharing it with us!!!! Now, go rest and recuperate!!!! You probably shouldn't be walking around and giving house tours if you just had surgery!!!! (but....thank you 😉)
The Bonner house is spectacular. I grew up in the 1925 colonial in Mundelein Illinois. We were the second family to own the house. My dad purchased the house from the original owner. Unfortunately we moved and sold it to another family who I am pleased to say is still living in the home. I enjoy your program very much and thank you for such a exquisite tour of a home and its historical history.
It's too bad you feel you have to acknowledge negative remarks. Maybe take a break from reading comments and get your positive energy back. Love the house! Love your natural look. Keep on keeping on.
Simply one of the most Beautiful Homes you have showed yet!!! So glad you will be looking out for it. Hope the people who get this beauty love it as much as you!!
I ❤ your videos so much & appreciate you putting yourself out there for us to tour & learn about so many historic homes. I don’t usually read comments or leave comments but must say how appalled I am that the thanks you get is such negativity. Those that comment on your appearance should be ashamed of themselves. You make a great team & quality content🥰
It seems like negative comments are starting to get to you. Ignore them! You guys work so hard and give us such great information. Your clothing is completely inconsequential. You don't have to apologize for anything, Laine. You look beautiful!
Doesn't she!
Exactly!! That's how I dress normally 😄❤
❤ yes!
I didn’t even notice ! 😮
Laine matches the home! Who could fault her, esp with regards to clothing?!
Please don't apologize for looking perfectly lovely Laine!
My goodness, Laine, what kind of comments are you receiving?! It’s so sad that you feel you have to scold and/or lecture us all because of what I hope is a small percentage of negative comments. Laine, you look beautiful! Prayers for a speedy recovery 🙏
A gorgeous masterpiece….beautiful in so many ways. Thank you for your tour.
So glad you are doing better….God Bless you and again thank you for sharing your love.
What is wrong with people that they need to criticize what you're wearing. Hope you heal quickly!
Thank you for your thoughtful tour of this lovely Tudor Revival home.🌿🌷🌿😊 🌿🌷🌿
I hope you feel tip-top soon!🍀💐🍀
I am confused why what you are wearing is ever an issue. You always look great. You are beautiful, well spoken, and extremely intelligent and knowledgeable in your field.
Looking beautiful lady!!! Thanks for showing this magnificent property!
Both of my grandmothers had homes built in the 1910's. All the woodwork was painted. I love the glass doorknobs. By the way, Laine, you look lovely.
What a beautiful house, I wouldn't change a thing, it's stunning architecture. I shared your video Kevin and Layne. I don't understand how people think they have the right to tell you how to dress in your video. You looked beautiful and you always do. Have a fabulous weekend you guys. ❤
Gorgeous home. It appears to be incredibly well-built.
I think you look Great ! what a well cared for home! I love the blueish green paint color too!
I 'm not here to judge you, period. Thanks for the video. I do appreciate it.🌻😊
Oh my gosh, this house reminds me of Cincinnati so much from the Tudor style to the red tile roofs, My grandmother had crystal door knobs too.
As far as being not well no one would have known.😮 As far as the home WOW and I would love to own it.😊 Thanks.
Stunning home!
Whoever buys this house will have really nice neighbors 😊
Laine, when I first started watching your video, I couldn't put my finger on what was different about you. It wasn't what you were wearing. You looked even more striking than before. I love your "natural" look and your hair is just lovely. I've been to Conway before and it is a beautiful town. Keep up the good work!
What a beautiful home. LOVE your teaching of architectural style and you look Stunning 6 days post op!!!😮
OMG what a beautiful house! What I would give to live in a home like that 🥰
Well dang, Laine! I thought you looked beautiful! Haters gonna hate no matter what. I love this gorgeous home and I’d love to be your neighbor. Now that y’all are MS residents you should tour the Eudora Welty home in Jackson. It is beautiful.
I think you look very pretty, Laine. You wear it well. Speedy recovery to you.
Absolutely gorgeous home. I would buy that home in a heartbeat if I could
I love your channel and have watched a lot... when you said this was a house with touches of Spanish revival, I did a double take... my house on University Avenue in Little rock was built in 1924... it has a lovely arch in the kitchen... and unfortunately the original sink is gone... but I know it has Spanish touches because I spoke with a lady who had known the people who lived here...
I mean after all who
ever gets it will be your neighbors. Im prayin the perfect folks come along. Well much love and blessings to you and your furry kids.
I adore the Tudor revival home.
I was thinking when the video started how cute you looked today..But then you truly always do look very beautiful ❤️
Pitch fork and torch! I love it! Beautiful home! Thanks again for a wonderful video!
My mom was raised in Conway. ❤
Timeless. 😍
~What a beautiful home! TY for the tour guys!! 🤗👍💯💫
The home is wonderful, it would have been my dream home, love the style and period.
It's too bad you feel you have to acknowledge negative remarks. Maybe take a break from reading comments and get your positive energy back. Love the house! Love your natural look. Keep on keeping on.
You are beautiful no matter what you wear hope you have a quick recovery!💗💗💗
Simply one of the most Beautiful Homes you have showed yet!!! So glad you will be looking out for it. Hope the people who get this beauty love it as much as you!!
I ❤ your videos so much & appreciate you putting yourself out there for us to tour & learn about so many historic homes. I don’t usually read comments or leave comments but must say how appalled I am that the thanks you get is such negativity. Those that comment on your appearance should be ashamed of themselves. You make a great team & quality content🥰
