It's a pretty popular theory that it's not Kai who turned greedy, but instead it was Oogway that turned selfless. Kai called himself a warlord when he introduced himself. Him and Oogway probably both were. But it was the Pandas' generous gesture that had an impact on Oogway and see him in a different light. For me it's Oogway that makes this movie so good. He had such little roles in the trilogy but whenever he had screentime it was absolutely perfection. Him finally going full circle with the dragon warrior selection killed me.
That would've been a cool idea to explore in the film, but regardless I still like the film and I love the trilogy, I even like Kai despite his lack of motivation

The way Oogway calls him “Dragon warrior” after he saves them and has all the golden surrounding them still makes me teary eyed man. That whole seen was just wow.
1st film: About Believing in yourself
2nd film: About Moving forward and Let go
3rd film: About Cherishing your loved ones(friends,family, companions)
They should make a 4th film

Hi, I'm a MoCap performer with some voice acting background and gotta say these movies always had an amazing voice over work done. The main cast of course but also even the smaller roles had great actors. PS. You almost saw me in the new Resident Evil 4 as Leon :)
I love that each movie tackles different subject matter. Self-doubt and acceptance, loss and tragedy, and spiritual growth and helping others. They all have a great message, as well as being seriously entertaining, and they're not preachy either.
The thing I like about Shifu was that he was not an egocentric teacher! He was quite happy to see his student/s to exceed him! And in a true teacher fashion to even further expand his expertise, he asked Po to teach him! A true generous teacher learning and imparting knowledge and wisdom! And even if Po would have exceeded him skill wise even Po recognizes that Shifu is still way more Wise than him! The 1st and 3rd part are brilliantly done!
"Why would you take their chi, that's so meannn !!" is what I love about Steph 😂😂😂😂
I love stories about family and discovering yourself, I love communities coming together, and I love pandas. This film is so precious!
The scene where everyone used chi to save Po is so beautifully done
I know a lot of people consider this movie the weakest of the trilogy, but it's my favorite after the second one. J.K. Simmons is incredible as General Kai and his villain theme goes so hard. I love Po's struggle to become a teacher and master chi, the climax is truly epic, and I love how well his biological and adoptive fathers eventually get along so well. That thing Mr. Ping said about how we sometimes "do the wrong things for the right reasons" has always stuck with me.

The reason I think it was the weakest cause the way they set up the pandas in the second movie was not expecting them to be this goofy, and I understand it’s a kung fu panda movie but it dropped on an emotional and mature level compared to the second

I can't decide which one's the best among these 3, i loved all of them. Beautiful stories, excellent dialogues, comedies, music, animation everything is so powerful in this trilogy. I wish they made more.

If you look closely at Kai's belt, you can see that he has also stolen the Chi from Tai Lung. I think that's a pretty nice detail :)
It's cool how the 2nd & 3rd film both have little references or Easter Eggs relating to Tai Lung.
Him being an amulet on Kai's belt in this film.
Po mentioning the cuffs they were in being the same ones Tai Lung wore, plus the wok Po hit him in the face with being some of the metal Shen stole.
I just wish we could upgrade from Easter Eggs to him actually coming back physically in some way.
@@SilverWolf442 I didn't even know about the Wok, that's a neat detail. And apparently in the upcoming fourth Kung Fu Panda Movie we will meet a new villain called the chameleon, who has the power to summon Po's previous enemies. Which means that it's very likely that we will see a return of Tai Lung.
So while I am looking forward to 4 I really feel the trilogy was pretty perfect on its own. I just hope 4 doesn't bring down the rest of the franchise.
I don’t think it will. I think I read somewhere it’s going to be about Po passing the torch onto another to be the dragon warrior. It feels like a natural progression of his story. Though I do wonder what movies 5 and 6 will tackle.
@@megawarrior_101 You probably read about the animated series "The Paws of Fate". But the events of this series take place after 3 films and before 4.
Love this movie. I think it might be my favorite of the trilogy. Kai was awesome as a villain and loved the soundtrack, especially his theme. The relationship between Po and his fathers is great. Also, it was nice having Oogway back
Kung Fu Panda 2 has always been my favourite. Tai Lung is Shifu's problem. Kai is Oogway's. Lord Shen is the only one with a direct connection to Po
True, but in a sense, having Kai be the least tied to Po (Tai Lung was jealous that Po became the Dragon Warrior and such did have SOME sort of tie to him as a result, compared to Kai who was simply going after Oogway’s legacy) might be the most fitting for this third film since Po already has the pieces he needs to fully figure out who he was. He was given the pieces by Mr. Ping, Shifu, the Furious Five, and even Tai Lung (who forced Po to realize the warrior he is) and Shen (who forced Po to make peace with the past trauma he had). Po didn’t need a villain to force him to evolve… but simply push Po to realize he had already evolved… he simply needed to accept it for himself. That said, KP2 might be my favorite too since Shen was Po’s most personal enemy.
I love how Po's Chi Master looks like the form of himself from his dreams.

fun fact tai lung was one of the masters Kai defeated and kept his chi and never released him to do battle against our heroes.
I realized one thing.... this movie is "WHO YOU ARE" no one knew who Kai is,Po is learning who he truly is,he learned how to teach each panda and his goose dad who they are,Kai found someone (Po) who knows who he is,almost everyone,since the begining with dad panda keep talking the same things "Who is he?" "Who are you?" "I don't know you" etc.... at the end,everyone knows themselves 🙂

I'm waiting for the fourth one. the villain is going to be a chameleon and it will have the power to bring back all of the past villians that Po has faced and it will also be where Po crowns the new Dragon Warrior

I thought this franchise has branched off into a Netflix series called “The Dragon Knight” (aside from the other fun miniseries Paws of Destiny)?

@@guitarist2463Actually, he’s stronger than Tai Lung. He stole Tai Lung’s chi. You can even see Tai Lung in one of the jade gems, though he is never used for battle.

I feel like the 3rd part is the perfect conclusion to Po's story. Though in 1st movie, he was appointed to be the dragon warrior, we came to know the real reason why Oogway chose him. Also, we got to know Oogway's story and why he started training Shifu and others in the first place.
There is an emotional moment when Po's dad remember's the past when he lost his son and at the end when everybody helps po with his chi by saying what po means to them

This is the only KFP movie that I've seen in theatres that also we reached 3 mins late. I've loved this movie since, I can't compare the three movies, they all have great moments but this one's special because at that time we knew this one was the last piece and I loved the movie very much. I played the guardian of the galaxy game as it came out. believe me one of the best game i have ever played. all i want movie to adopt the game story it was just amazing
The second movie is still my favorite. This one's a close second.

In my opinion the second movie was perfect, the first movie was a amazing introduction to the village and po, but i still prefer the 3rd movie over the other two, for some reason the first movie didn't feel as strong as the other two, i loved the 3rd one, especially because of oogway, he got so little screen time during this trilogy, but every time he showed up it was perfection, oogway hands down is a perfectly written character.
Also one thing i noticed is that the first movie was more focused on shifu, the second one was obviously focused on Po's backstory, the third one was focused on oogway and oogway's past.
Fun Fact: Kai's Theme was sampled or used from the Imagine Dragons song "I'm So Sorry" also shown in the credits of the movie. Pretty cool song and remix by the music composers :D.
And that's why it's the worst track in the franchise...Why bother making an original, touching, threatening theme if you can just re-arrange a popular song?
Sure it's still composed by Zimmer and Powell, but it's like reserving a table at the 5 star restaurant, only to be fed a bootleg of a cheap burger from a food court you usually go to.

Nobody Hates This Movie, There Are Just People Who Think It's The Weakest Out Of The 3 That's It
Po had already went through the journey on ‘finding who I am’ on KP2. In one of the best animated films.
Now the third one, everything else is almost on par with the 1st and 2nd, it’s just that, it had Po go on the same journey, trying to ‘finding who I am’.
But still, great villain, great action in the 3rd film.
His dad said ‘you need to find out what it means to be a panda’
And that’s what Po should’ve said also, but he said the other line.
Po should’ve said ‘I need to find out what it means to be a panda, to find everything I had lost.’
Just my opinion.
To be fair, what makes identity such a great theme for Po, is that identity is multifaceted. You can know who you are in terms of your past, but perhaps not who you are in the present or who you want to be in the future. I always figured the 2nd one was Po identifying himself in his past and his present, and this third film is Po discovering who he is in terms of combining the lessons of the first two films and becoming a new Po… a mastered Po.
The Guardians videogame is actually the best Guardians story and experience by far. I hope you two actually played it

I remember having a vision where i was this light reddish dragon and there were 2 twice the size brown dragons guarding me at my sides,next thing i flew up and they chased after then i came out of the vision haha freaky as hell 😮😅
Remember how Shifu taught Po kung fu? Po basically did the same with all of the pandas.
I’m not gonna lie the second one was way more dark and personal for Po. This movie was not better then the second one.

These reactions are my first times "watching" this trilogy. I'm not sure why I dismissed them before, but this was a cool experience.
This movie is definitely a bit sillier than the previous one and doesn't involve nearly as much actual philosophy or Kung Fu. Apparently Kung Fu Panda 2, despite being by far the best of the series, received massive backlash from angry soccer moms who said it was too dark and was going to traumatize their precious kids. In response, Dreamworks made the 3rd film much more kid friendly.

All 3 movies had villains that Po was meant to defeat in the path of his growth. Like Tai Lung's nerve attack was ineffective against Po because of his body fat, the prophecy of Shen's defeat from a warrior of Black and White and finally defeating Kai by being a Master of Qi which his ancestors originally mastered.
This movie was nice but the second one was easily stronger in my opinion. Kai just isn't as terrifying as Shin and it isn't even close. this movie also focused a LOT less on actual martial arts. the second movie's first fight literally had as much fighting as this movie did in it's entirety.
I just realize that since Oogway knew about the pandas. He knew that po will make it excellent candidate to be the dragon warrior. I just realize this now.😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
