Those old Fords with the round asymmetrical air intake on the right side of the hood fascinated me as a kid. Most of the other heavy duty trucks had the external canister or got enough intake under the hood. Surprise you all haven't gotten a C-Series COE come through since Ford made them for almost 50 years...
There's a few trucking companies in my area who restore these kinds of trucks and put them to work for their business, hopefully there's someone in your area who does the same because it's an awesome old thing!
It looks like it was set up to operate as a fuel bowser. If the tank has stayed dry inside and isn't corroded, and if the engine will run, then that one definitely has potential. Those old CATs are pretty tough and that one certainly doesn't look as old as the truck so I imagine it's a reman or new replacement engine so it's definitely worth seeing if it still has fire in it. That engine on its own should be worth a decent amount of money...
There's so many of these things that the highway dept. around here uses. It's not out of the ordinary to see construction companies with 1960's to 1980's ford/chevy/international cement, dump, water, etc. trucks. (Pennsylvania)
The 3208 Cat was a damn good motor back in the day Y’all gotta see if you can get it running and driving It’s a damn cool old Ford! And probably a lot of good parts between the truck and the tank body! (Our of curiosity, can you find the tag on the tank to see what company made it?)
If it is a decent running truck, scrap the old fuel tank on back find a good used flatbed and you'll either find good use for it or sell it soon enough. Some farm would like to have it in that setup I mentioned.
We had two of those Louisvilles. One was a 1986 LNT9000 with a 350 big cam Cummins (which is the one in my profile pic). The other one was an older 70s LNT 9000 day cab with a VT903 Cummins V8, which caught fire in a tunnel and burnt to the ground 15 years ago.
Back before ford put the international harvester 6.9 diesel in between the fenders of the pickups...that cat 3208 was a popular repower done at many shops and even dealerships.
kman 4443 I hope it gets murdered by dave crushing it with the crusher that would be good to see it’s gonna be kicking the bucket soon it’s the end of the road for it
If you can get it running and it drives, I'd recommend cleaning it up and selling it. As it is, if it were to be exported to a poor country, you can be sure they'd mend it up and have it running another 10 or 15 years
That CAT diesel engine will fire up right away. Diesel engine don't die. I have seen farm truck and heavy duty machinery with diesel engine that fire up after 30 and 40 years sitting. Good way to have a project truck to be fix. It is all there just need to be put back on service.
3208 CATs were good motors but they tended to blow up when used for highway use. For local use they were pretty good. As long as the RPMs weren't kept too high it should be good.
Good to see an upload from you Jay! Hopefully you will give it your best to see if it will run and if it does - take the tank off and either sell the chassis after cleaning it up and/or flat bed it? My father's business was a Shell Jobber until he sold the last of the business in 1995 - had a couple like this and they were virtually indestructible - the CAT engine in particular. If it runs - that is a good one to do so many things with...... What happened or is happening with the orange Ford 250???? Thanks! :-)
Is it possble to review that Jeep XJ? Looks like an 89 or 91 model year. Might even be interested in picking it up myself depending on its condition and im sure others here would like to see a video on that running. Hope you are doing well man!
Those are not yellow jackets. Yellow Jackets live in the ground and are about half that size. Have yellow stripes on their rear end. And their wings fold down flat. What those are is common paper wasps. They make nests from wood and wood fiber.
Not all yellow jackets build there nest in the ground and yellow jackets also use wood fiber to build their nest I actually have a camper that has a huge yellow jackets nest it one of the cabinets
Hey, i have a question please answer it, if some one sells these cars to junk yards that means that its now the junk yards owners car and he can drive it?
i don't think your be able to crush that, as well unless you fill the tanker part with sol or sawdust or water to get the left over fuel that's going to go bang with the slightest spark, still neat though not often you see an older gas truck normally they were sold on as a truck just take the tank off the rear and boom flat bed truck for sale,
Cat 3208. I'm surprised that they did take the metering things. They are rebuildable. 30 yrs in the fuel oil business I rarely saw new. That guy with the smokes at the back how does he know that it didn't carry gasoline?
You guys can use it as your fuel truck for your equipment.
I see more life still in that old girl. Those Cats are a hard engine to kill
doyouliketowatch I hope it gets murdered by dave crushing it with the crusher that would be good to see

I drove one of those back in the 80s,really good old truck!

Seen better days... I hope someone buys it and repairs that beauty.

What is a fuel bowser? All I know is that that both of those things are dinosaurs 🦕
Get it running. That truck will sell.
Damon N.E. Texas that piece of junk hasn't been DOT certified in 17 years
@ERVMEDVAC yeah drop in a 11,000$ engine an sell it for 11,500$ lol
kamryn G you get you money back plus 500 more dollars
@@steverone7623 it could be used on private haul quarry roads
Nice truck to restore

Save it it looks like a realy good truck
it looks awesome. I can't wait for a video of starting it :D
Wow finally a upload
The 3208 Cat was a damn good motor back in the day
Y’all gotta see if you can get it running and driving
It’s a damn cool old Ford!

I would stuff that engine and transmission into a older Ford F250 4x4 pickup like say a 1978 simply because that will sell and fast.
Nice truck. Looks like with a good cleaning up and it can still be used.
That's pretty neat. You don't see these old Fords on the road anymore these days.
I'm so glad you're okay mr Jay! 😊
You trying to sound like Harley Quinn?
Will it run see if it will
Guy says "gotta fire extinguisher"lol yea ur gonna need it if ol boy keeps turning the valve and other ol boy lights that's smoke!!! Lol
Start it and let that cat purr
Cool old truck.....definitely like to see "will it start" video on this one. 👍
It would be cool if you could do a will it run video of that.
I love trucks with Dayton spoke wheels
If it is a decent running truck, scrap the old fuel tank on back find a good used flatbed and you'll either find good use for it or sell it soon enough. Some farm would like to have it in that setup I mentioned.
I always admired the Ford L8000 cab
I was literally sitting here saying damn Jay smart hasn't uploaded in a while now here you are!
Cat diesel truck engines are sorta rare now? Someone may want that (engine)
No they're not, they're in lots and lots of trucks, now.
Looks like it HAD a good life, time to say ashes to ashes dust to dust.
That truck is just waiting for Bruce Willis to jump in and save the world!
Man, you've still got that wrecked BMW!
Those runs under the headlights make it look like the crying emoticon.
It's definitely cool
Great for a movie
Jay get your numbers up make that bad boy run!!!!!!
I’d love buy it and make it looks nice and keeping making money
Get it running
Great videos Jay from the United kingdom. Keep up the good work mate 👍
Think you should keep that old truck instead of getting rid of it or parting it out
I want to see it run!
Where you been hiding Jay? Missing the updates but great job you do so keep up the good work.
Now only one question remains: WILL IT RUN? Great video Jay!

Poor old truck, looks like its hanging on the back of the trailer screaming NOOOOOOOO! on its way to the grave.
kman 4443 I hope it gets murdered by dave crushing it with the crusher that would be good to see it’s gonna be kicking the bucket soon it’s the end of the road for it
Cool old ford with a cat diesel one heck of a possible truck rat rod project with some work I bet

People would pay good money for that high/low rear end. We have the same one in a 70’s Ford dump truck. They are getting hard to find.
A good fuel truck for a farm
i bet that old truck will fire right up
He's ALIVE!
I like that truck I would buy it
Will it Run
So, are you now starting your channel back up? Hope so.
Last time it was DOT worthy was 2001. Thats what the P and K along with the date on the driverside tank frame says
Try start it

Cat 3208 GOOD little motor. Be a good rebuilder motor. LOT'S of good parts.
Do a. will it run video

Thanks! :-)
Make it run
you can see some recoverable cars.
Hey Jay, Nice to see another one of your videos! How are you guys doing? Is everything better now?
It's sad how they destroy old trucks or cars like that
Is it possble to review that Jeep XJ? Looks like an 89 or 91 model year. Might even be interested in picking it up myself depending on its condition and im sure others here would like to see a video on that running. Hope you are doing well man!
i would love to have that 2 way radio laying on the floor board of that truck id buy it pay the shipping for it
How much for the two way Motorola radio?
Will it start?
Operators set up at rear is very similar to a drain jetting wagon
Are you going to save it?
Save it 😀
🆒 !!! IT'S BEEN A LONG WHILE!!!
keep it for your personal fuel truck for the yard
Good Idea
I would get that thing running would sell easy it’s in good shape being a cat motor I bet it runs
You guys be careful those wasps are Yellow Jackets.
thefilmguy I hope it gets murdered with the wasps by dave crushing it with the crusher that would be good to see

I saw the bucket in the thumb nail and I said "why", you guys don't normally crush vintage things do you?
How much would the yard sell that truck for?

Bet it would still run too
Jay - Enjoy the vids, and I believe you’re located in Chesnee, SC. What is your website for the yard? 👍🏻
Cat 3208. I'm surprised that they did take the metering things. They are rebuildable. 30 yrs in the fuel oil business I rarely saw new. That guy with the smokes at the back how does he know that it didn't carry gasoline?
Would this not export for more than scrap value
Yeah but will u crack it because you say that we never see it again
Looks like a 3208 cat used to be good little engines
C’mon don’t do that to us you got to see if that baby will start !! There so much I want to see of that truck
I wouldn't be smoking around a gas truck but that's just me
Hey jay I ran my master clutch cylinder dry on fluid on my 1999 ranger do u think I have to bench bleed it as it has no clutch pedal feel anymore
kamryn G save time and do it so you're not pumping the pedal like a maniac for 3hrs
But I think pumping the clutch pedal like a maniac is less work an my foot will get a work out for 3 hours
Neat though apart from its original purpose I don't know what anyone could do with a truck like that.
Just asking what year is it
dang is that M3 really still at the yard?
The tank part came from General Steel Tank Co.
How much for scrap on that
Don't destroy it. They don't make them any more.
Exactly
I hope it gets murdered by dave crushing it with the crusher that would be good to see
Would make a great yard truck to refill the machines.
Home heating oil truck?
Make a starting video for it
See if its runs
Split rims.. fun..
Where is your scrap yard located?
Cool truck. I bet that engine has low miles on it.
