That sound of Clark engine takes me back to elementary school days we had a similar school bus sound just like that I believe it was number 732-33 Ford school bus if I remember.
Yeah, I've been looking for a video with a bus which sounds like that for years. I'm in Southern Ontario and I hadn't heard that classic first-gear whine since about 1993. I wish I could hear it in third gear or faster, so I can reremember what it sounded like. I'm also blind and I have always tried to pay attention to things like this.
Thank you for posting this, I've been looking for years, for that classic school bus wine and I love school buses with standard transmission, which sound like this. Again, thanks for posting and I hope there are more like this with this bus.
grew up in quebec as well, the bus company we had, all the blue birds were GMC like this and the thomases were chevy. 8 way flashers were rare back then in quebec most busses only had 4 red glashers
I believe so, because I recognize the sound that I used to hear on these buses in Toronto and other parts of Ontario in the 70s and 80s. I forget what this bus probably sounded like in third gear and I had forgotten, how it sounded in second.
As somebody who is blind, I'm curious what size of bus it is. Is it a typical type C school bus, or is it one of those 12 Cedar multifunction activity buses, like some schools and summer camps head, back in the day? I live in the GTA and in the 70s and 80s, the CNIB in Toronto had a bus with the same transmission, as well as the lake Joe CNIB camp, before it was either retired or died around 1983.

@@819transitvideos will you be making anymore driving videos with this bus? I would love to hear what it sounds like in third gear, after 29 years since the last time I had ridden on a bus which sounds like this.
I grew up riding these, although our buses had automatics, and I loved that sound, nothing like it
That transmission is music to my ears! 👂🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Mine too! I hope that more videos of this bus will be made!
It sounds kind of like the Muncie M22 Rock Crusher nicknamed transmissions that some GM cars had in the 70s.
Not as cool as how the automatic sounded

Oh I remember that transmission whine :)
The sound of that engine on that bus brings back memories for me 0:57
Ça me rappelle mon enfance !!! J'étais assis en arrière la fenêtre ouverte pour écouter le son de l'exhaust hahaha !!!
Ca rappelle des vieux souvenirs ca! quand j'avais 6ans en 1987
Beautiful bus! It sounds so vintage, yet amazing! :)

@@819transitvideos thanks! I love it!
For a school bus from 1979, it looks to be in pristine condition!
Those are my favorite, I remember SBS transit in Ohio used them as spares for Lorain city schools back in the day. I remember 25 and 55 and 57
It reminds me of junior high and high school. The bus is the same color and has the same sound, with tall green seats.

That bus has swing-out doors...quite rare for a Blue Bird back then, but more common for a Thomas!
Classic beautiful bus
Aaaahhhhhhh there's nothing like hearing that 'Ole Clark 285V 5-speed attached to a 366 or 350 on the Bose sounding speaker!
This one is a 427; even better!
@SYH653 OOOOO! we had 2 buses with 427's!
Nice looking.bus 1973

This I'm guessing is a manual transmission.

Lucky you, I just uploaded a new video
Is it gas or diesel
Where is this bus? Why the signage in non-English?
Some French-Canadian province in Canada.

Does It have airbrakes

The bus model involed in the carrolton bus crash of 1988
R.I.P. to all the victims
That bus was a Superior body on a Ford chassis. The only thing similar is the Clark transmission.
What Engine Is It

366 tall deck big block industrial use in medium duty trucks and buses and tend to not Rev too high focus more on torque.
