Friend, very good night. I have the concern to make my hotspot work in crossmode DMR and NXDN, I have very little dabbling in amateur radio, so I still don't know a lot of things. As I already have the hotspot configured, the options that you show in yours appear in green, now the detail is to configure the radio to transmit to the hotspot, do you have a manual on how to configure the radio? To see what options you use to make it work. my radio is a NX720HG, I don't know if it works for this, it has many options in configuration.
Unfortunately, I am not familiar with that particular radio. I do hope you can find more information on how to program talkgroups into the radio somewhere online. Best of luck.

@@hectordanielhuertaramirez1240 your radio is an NXDN Radio. I would suggest joining the NXDN Digital Radio Group on Facebook. It currently has 669 members. NXDN radios are what I call specialty or niche radios and unfortunately, I have never even played with an actual NXDN radio.
Thanks for the great videos. I take it from your description that to get my NXDN ID show up when cross-moding, I would enter it in the NXDN direct mode configuration section. Then pi-star "remembers" it when I am cross-moding. Is this correct?
Thanks for watching. Yes, you are correct. First setup the hotspot for just NXDN (as if you had an NXDN radio). It has a a space right below your callsign in the general configuration that asks for your NXDN ID. Enter it and hit apply changes. Then in the NXDN configuration section, I would set the NXDN startup host to None. In the NXDN RAN key in the number 1. Hit apply changes. Then you are good to go to reconfigure for crossmode.
I've been able to get the parrot working in NXDN cross mode and I'm linked to a talkgroup. However my Brandmeister account shows my hotspot as red. Is that normal? Could there be a conflict using a hotspot with ESSID? I have several hotspots. I just couldn't get that hotspot green and I never heard traffic in NXDN. I'll try again today. Thanks for your vids they've been very helpful.
Although you should use a different ESSID on each hotspot for Brandmeister, The red color might be the Brandmeister hotspot password not being correct. I would reset that and see if all systems go to green.
@@k9wlwradio309 Flipped back to red but all the settings look ok. I'm monitoring 10200. Not hearing traffic. Could be no one around. All looks normal on my side but not Brandmeister. I'm on 5.10.11+.
@@JoeMaloneOnTheMoon I am going to record another video shortly of using DMR2NXDN with DMR Gateway. I will also demonstrate DMR2YSF with DMR Gateway. You oftentimes have to type in the Brandmeister hotspot password in the DMR configuration after you switch from straight DMR Brandmeister to Brandmeister with DMR Gateway. I have one hotspot permanently set to DMR Brandmeister 3102 and DMR2NXDN so I can quick key between Brandmeister and NXDN on my DMR radio without having to "Apply Changes" all the time.
@@k9wlwradio309 I just entered the password in the expert DMR Gateway. There was no field in the regular configuration page. Also I noticed your configuration had nothing about access lists. I was getting a warning about looping in a yellow banner on the top of the page. So maybe some differences in software versions occurring. Many thanks. Have not heard anything yet on 10200 despite calling for a radio check.
Yes and no. You can activate all 5 modes at the same time. When there is no traffic, it rapidly scans the activated modes. The first one that has a transmission puts the other modes on hold. They will not be heard unless the busy mode goes quiet for 20 seconds. That is the hang time. Multiple crossmodes cannot be done at the same time. The problem is if a long QSO happens on one node, you will miss any traffic that appears on another mode because of the hang time.if it goes silent 20 seconds, it resumes scanning the activated modes very quickly.
Hi, I watched your video and saw you doing the procedure to listen to NXDN on DMR, but could you help me do the opposite? I have an NXDN radio and would like to listen to DMR through the hotspot. 73 de PY2XO.
Unfortunately the pi-star software does not provide any crossmoding options for an NXDN radio. All you can do with an NXDN radio is NXDN. You would have to get either a DMR radio, or a C4FM Yaesu radio to do any crossmoding.
