Please stop apologizing about all the issues of DMR. Just tell folks that if they follow your directions it will make the radio do what it is supposed to. They may have to watch the video a few times and even ask questions from you or knowledgeable friends. IT WILL WORK. And it IS FUN!!! Dave K8WPE
Indeed. We deal with hundreds of people everyday who have the false belief they cannot comprehend DMR. We show them they can. Our mission is to equip them with the tools and support to make them successful. So far, so good.
Great video! I'm now able to communicate through a local Fusion repeater by simply changing the channel on my AT878! Everyone is surprised when we talk about how we are getting into the repeater. Thank you!
Ron, When you transmit you need to wait a few seconds for your radio to connect with the group or room you are connecting to before talking. It’s not like analog. You need to wait before you talk and then wait after you stop transmitting to let the internet connections connect and transfer data. It isn’t immediate. There is a delay. Play with Parrot and you will see you are cutting off the first word or two of your transmission. Dave K8WPE since 1960
Great Video.. I just noticed that there are some issues with the latest Pi-star firmware in enabling BOTH Dmr and Fusion at the same time. Its not rebooting to BOTH when they are enabled. It works great with the OLDER firmware you are using but not with the UPDATED firmware. If anyone has a workaround please share. 73s from W5ZM.
Hello. Nice video. Quick question. I noticed your DMR parrot TG was set to Private Call, but you programmed your YSF parrot TG to Group Call. Why the difference? Thanks.
Hay Ron, If you turn digital monitor on the radio on, you won't have to change the channel just to hear the disconnect confirmation. OH, I can see you're doing that at the end.

I heard about RFC030/C, otherwise known as 30 Charlie from other UA-cam videos, as a very popular and active Reflector. There are probably thousands of Reflectors, Talk Groups, and Rooms. But I'm guessing that 99% of them have almost no activity. Can you list the ten most popular and active Reflectors, Talk Groups, and Rooms, for D-Star, DMR, and YSF? Then I could try listening to them, rather than randomly choose the networks that are totally quiet most of the time.

using the Skybridge hotspot has opened up a lot of the world for me since I am not able to have a decent antenna outside the house for my HF rig. HOA
Do you have to put the disconnect in every time you make a code plug?

It's good you put the talk group disconnect in your programming.

Thank you! Great tip.
Good video guys
Thank you!
great video, thanks for your time to explain thoroughly. works perfect.
I don't know if anybody chimed in yet, but FCS stands for Fusion Connect System (or so I read).
Awesome! Thank you for sharing that information! 73!
Great video again Ron (why did I ever call you Duane before?). Thank you for helping to demystify FOR and cross mode operations. 73, MM0E
Very welcome

Interesting. We will investigate.
New update recently to Pi-Star, it should work now
Hello. Nice video. Quick question. I noticed your DMR parrot TG was set to Private Call, but you programmed your YSF parrot TG to Group Call. Why the difference? Thanks.
I honestly don't know. I just know it works for doing a PARROT group call to a YSF reflector.

Hi Ron, While on reflectors, do you need to disconnect from YSF as you do for DMR, and how? I am just learning this information. Thanks, Bill (KC3RMV)

Can this also be used with a FT-70DR to connect to YFS sites as well as using my DMR HT to connect to DMR as well as YFS sites? New to all this...🎙👍🤠
Yes. You the hotspot works with YSF.
