Will, just a personal tip, put a second screw in the jar lids, with 1 screw lid can still spin, with 2 it can't
I would also add washers otherwise the screws may pull through if you go over a bump.
Thank you, it was driving me nuts that there was only one screw in each jar lid.
Thanks for the tip Neil, I didn't show it but I ended up putting 4 in hah
@@WillsWhereabouts even better
glass will unravel, drop and break. better use plastic.
U cook better in a van than I can in a full kitchen. Keep up the awesome videos my man!
Will, it's so great to see you delivering non-idyllic 'van life/living on the road' stuff! Our whole generation is deluded by how 'easy' this lifestyle is due to social media air brushing. Hats off for perfectly encapsulating defeat=comprehension= victory! Life isn't easy but UA-cam vloggers will depict that it is! Biggest of love my friend - keep on smashing it!
Thank you for your kind words 🙏
Awww Will you are sounding positive days; no more negative thoughts. I’ve been following your Instagram posts... hand brake issues then the flood. I’d fill those jars with Sweets tbh. Sweets in the jars, chocolate in the fridge. Happy days mate. A long way since the Galaxy days when I first discovered you. You lift my depression days a lot. Huge thank yous. RgY. 🤜🤛
I suggest changing the van then you will have a new key fob that will probably work 😁
😂😂 that would actually work
Some ideas for the key fob. Can try either holding down lock key for 10 seconds or try inserting in ignition and turning on and then pressing lock key to sync the key. Could also be an issue of a blown fuse
Where there's a Will there's a way. Glad to see you're doing well and feeling positive again 🙂
I'm so glad to see you obviously happier and enthused about the van again. It's looking really good!
Two fingers Will, that's a winner!
Great measurement tactic! 🤘🤘
Nice one will, Great to see you taking on new projects with the van. Good sense of achievement when you get the job done and not relied on anyone else 🙂👌🏻
Well done, and good to see you in a more positive mood. As a suggestion for the cover-up: Now that you have those mason jars screwed to the cupboard, you also need the cork board and some colurful pins to showcase your favourite polaroid pictures. :) This would cover it up and could be a start of a collection of happy moments.
There is normally a procedure to pair a new fob with a car which is normally different depending on make and model etc but it's normally something like putting the key in the ignition and pressing a combination of buttons on the fob. You'll have to Google the proper procedure for your van but that may be the issue if you haven't tried that already
That van looks so cozy! 😊
You seem much more happy and positive which is great to see. Keep up the excellent work!
Thank you 😊
you should have made the cupboard long enough to cover the grey carpet lump ......... van is looking great will..glad to see you smiling again mate
Thanks for commenting and the kind words 🙏
Great to see your confidence growing to try more things.
Looking at those jar threads, you will need to regularly check they are tight on long journeys.
Hope you have already done your trip to Dorset, as we have big thunderstorms down here all week...
Finally you look like your enjoying doing things to your van we all love watching your videos
Thank you 🙏
Just watching, read up on key fob, reprogramming most times done by garages, also saying could be issue with your locking system, all depends on age of your key etc. Off to watch rest of video, already hearing you ,up to your usual antics, well done Will for giving it a go,that's how we learn, and make it all more homely.
You've done amazing... Keep it up brother
Brill Will. Good to see youre more upbeat. Youre doing brill. Learning everyday.
Thank you 🙏
Hi will. Try putting the key into the door barrel while turning to lock the van press the button for about 2-3 seconds. Then do the opsite by holding the unlock button on the key and turning to the unlock in the door. I did this to my car and it worked. Great videos by the way
Next level of toys to come! Wow you've come so far Will!
Thank you 🙏
You have become quite the handy man. It's funny and educational. Enjoy your time Will
Thank you, I am enjoying learning new skills 👍👍
Hi Will! Been watching for a while now. All i could advise is in your spare time watch numerous mechanic videos on your van. It’s helped me numerous times. Even on just confidence and patience lol. Not broken anything in anger for a long time
Thanks Josh, great advice thank you 🙏
So that's what you were doing under the van when I passed by ! The van is looking great Will, all the effort is paying off 👍🏻
I would love to be able to drive past and see Will working on the van lol
More you add to make the van homely the more comfortable you be and proud of the van and really good video hopefully you get the odd jobs sorted
Loving the home touches. We had a knife rack like that & jars such fab idea. Noticed you only did one screw in the lid... You may not need but just in case for future with the undoing a lot to use contents they may become loose. We used 3 screws in a triangle for each to stop this. Keep it up you looking well too. 🙏💚
Thank you for the advice and the nice comment 👍👍
Hi Will, I’m glad your enjoying van life. Have fun in Dorset. Mary is looking so good. If your handbrake is not brilliant, then just leave Mary in gear when your parked up. Great video as always. Have fun with your friend. 🚐✌️👍🤟🏼
I gotta say, your setup is pretty freaking sweet. You did a great job. Kudos 👍
Thank you 🙏
Keep it up bro. I remembered when you did videos in car and now a van like this it's really a great achievement ☺️☺️
Appreciated Namra, thank you 😊
Key Fob Fix - I had a similar key fob issue. Replaced battery to no avail. I took apart the fob and noticed the battery terminal to the circuit board was slightly corroded and loose. I cleaned it up with solder contact cleaner and then used a soldering iron to apply new solder. It worked and haven't had a problem since. Good luck :)
Good video mate really enjoyed it, the van is looking great and you are definitely making great progress with the finishing touches 👍
Brilliant Will! Leaps and bounds!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you Allan 🙏🙏
Baby wipes can be your friend for hand washing and small cleaning.
Thanks for the tip 🙏
This is a good channel and the van is awesome James
Dont really comment loads but have to say love your channel been alot of ups and downs building the van but i have really enjoyed watching each video along the way keep up the good work will and thankyou for the hours of entertainment right back the the car camping
Thank you 🙏
Use sugar mixed with washing up liquid to get the grease of your finger nails , rubbing your hands with the grit from the sugar cleans them
Thanks for the tip 👍👍
Man your van looks like a nice place to spend some time. RIP Queen Elizabeth.
Those water tank inspection holes, the caps should have come with a gasket to make sure of a good seal. If they didn’t, make one out of thin ish rubber, problem solved and you will be able to open it anytime without worrying about it sealing again..
Thanks 👍👍👍🙏🏻
Thanks for the advice 👍👍👍
Hi Will, you could put up a white board / chalk board over the carpet bit thingy, that way you can keep helpful lists too. 🙂. Well done mate on your engine upgrade and tightening your hand brake cable 👍
Forget the key fob mate. Just go all old fashioned and put the key into the keyholes. It's what has worked well for centuries.
I have the same problem on my T5, but everything works just as well by inserting the key. It hasn't cost me a few hundred quid either!
Love your channel. All the best, RJ.
Thanks for the advice and thanks for watching 👍👍
Yaas! 15 secs. Early tw@!
You don't get to Dorset without the chores getting done fella. good work.
The jar thing looks great gonna do that in REG our elderly moho which we are stripping out and rebuilding so in effect pre-built to self-build haha. You seem happier too which is great!
🙏🙏👍
🤣🤣🤣🤣 the swearing part I can so relate ,lol
It just slips out 😊
Really enjoyed this. Good on you for giving it all a go 👏👏👏👏. Wishing you all the best and I’m enjoying watching your journey and seeing you grow as a person 👍🏻👍🏻. And a plant / fresh herbs to hide the metal I think
Thanks so much 👍👍🙏
already saw a couple of vids with installed jars, dayum. Thx for the vid
Hi, your van looks really good, if I were ready, I've just finished the insulation. Regarding your central locking: let's check the control box of your central locking, not that it has a quirk.
Keep it up and greetings from Germany
Such a treat to watch Will shirtless. Hehe.
You have inspired me, I will be joining the van life! Thanks Will top guy
This is so nice to hear thank you 🙏
@@WillsWhereabouts are you living in your van full time?
Try putting key in ignition will, turn it to first click! Then press your keyfob locking symbol hold the press. In, and it should lock & unlock. Works on vauxhalls worth a try. 🙏👍
What a simple way to hang your spices, iv seen them with magnets but that’s much better. You should do this for a side line, so many people wanting fans converted but these companies prices are crazy…. I’m looking to get a bigger vehicle later this year, hoping prices are not as ridiculous as they are now. Enjoy your DIY.
Thank you Bel! Good luck with the van hunt 😊
Well done mate, great video as always..safe travels buddy
Thank you 🙏
Cover the grey patch with a custom fit of one of these 👈 pointing left to the knives. Or one of these 👇 pointing to the bog
😂😂 like this 👍👍
Just a quick tip, getting grease of hands, good spoon of sugar in hands, then some fairy liquid or similar then rub all over hands. Should remove most of it, if not all.
Put a K and N air pannel filter alongside your tuning box and diesel octane booster and your get more mpg.
Van looking sweet! Regarding the grey carpet buldge I'd box it in with batten and thin ply then paint same colour 🤙
Hand brake I had same problem the right angled arm were the cable was loose is seized take the spring off take the centre nut off and you will find that angled bracket which leaves the cable is seized you’ve Gotta get that off lubricate it all put it back together and your handbrake will work like a dream👍👍😎
Nice touch with the jars, Put some PTFE on the threads of the jars this will stop them from vibrating lose as you drive.
Thanks for the tip 👍👍
I love your van mate . Me and the mrs are using yours as inspiration 👍
Thanks Justin, happy converting 😊👍
My idea for the hideous spot is cover it with some framed artwork, to give the van the final touch 🤙🏽
Nice 👌
Spider plant in front of that grey carpet bit maybe hanging or on a bracket !
Hadn’t thought of a plant 🪴
The adjustment of the handbrake must be fully adjusted.
Probably need new rear brake pads or shoes depending if it’s discs or drums.
I knew the access ports in the waste water tank was an awful idea. Lessons learned. 👍
18:10 I would put up a photo in a frame of the best Ford Galaxy memory you had where you started this adventure 😎
Nice 👌
Loving the videos Will, keep it up mate 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Robbie 👍🤘
This is why garage quote are always variable, sometimes things are easy, but sometimes you have to break out a gas axe and replace bolts if easing oils fail.
Very true 👍
Nice one Will, I can’t wait for the episode when you are driving and there’s an almighty crash of glass jars behind you, it’s going to happen! Keep up the good work Papa Shango! All the best big man.
🙏🙏
By proud 👏 whatever you do will.... the van looks amazing and it's your home just enjoy it all 👌😎😏🍻
Thanks Gavin 🤘🤘
Thank you for the chuckle.
Thank you for watching 😁
@@WillsWhereabouts I have been watching around the Napal days. I always chuckle because we all can see the disaster coming… and then it happens.
Whenever my father and I would attempt a simple mechanical procedure, inevitably it would be an all day affair.
Keep your chin up- do you doing a good job!
For the grey cover up, perhaps a spice rack with your fav spices, coffee and whatever else .
Nice suggestion thanks 🙏
big learning video today. and a small cooking :(.... lol. can not wait for another small mod week video of you planning a uk tour, visiting many cool and unique places
Thanks for the nice comment 👍🤘
Will the key fob. Just try holding down both buttons on the key fob do 3 to 5 seconds if it works it should make the hazard lights flash. Then you fingers crossed it should be reprogrammed to the van so you will be able the open and lock the van
Will - had the same problem on my Ducato van with the key fob. Tried everything. Then read about wireless inside outside thermoneters interfering with the fob. Took the batteries out of the thermometer and the key fob worked again. Might be worth a try if you have any wireless devices in van 🤞
It really could be as simple as that 👍
This really could be one factor. Those key fobs often are on the 70cm ISM band, which sees quite a lot of use in all kinds of wireless things. The TX periods of those things are typically short, so there shouldn't be collisions at all time - if the key fob has alternating key code, they might eventually roll out of sync.
@James Quigley I was on about the key fob trick, not the telegram message
He’s replied to virtually every comment, not just on here, other UA-cam vids too
Good point, my Honda key fob won’t work if it’s near my cell phone, no fix for the issue, I just keep them apart.
Thanks for the information I’ll give it a go 👍👍
Great honest vlog bud,,,, love those 30 min jobs that end up a couple of hours lol
Drives ya nuts eh ?? 😆👍
To get dirt off your hands like that, I squirt washing up liquid directly into your hand and a tablespoon of sugar and mix, it becomes a light abrasive and gets dirt off nicely! Either that or buy swarfega. Nice job on the jars and remap kit!
Thanks for the tips and advice 🙏🙏
Love the jars. Might want to put another screw off to the side so it doesn't start spinning on that one center screw later down the road.
Thank you for the tip 👍👍
Hi Will.
Love the channel. Keep up the good work.
Ref key fob concern.
First port of call after you confirmed battery in the fob is good and correct is make sure the fob is sinked to the van.
Most auto electricians can do this for you using a diagnostic tool for example from Snapon or Bosch (other brands are available)
With some vehicles when you disconnect battery’s or replace keys / fob battery’s your key fob becomes un-sinked to the vehicles receiver. This can happen for both immobiliser and locks.
Go to your local trusted garage ask them for a plug in diagnostic tool which is capable of sinking keys. The chances are you won’t have to have it programmed however just sinked.
This will cost no more than an hours labour £50/£60 + Vat at an independent.
If the key needs reprogramming due to being a replacement this can cost more. Main dealer circa £150.
However an independent auto electrician will reprogram to the vehicle and you’ll save 30%.
So Sink first.
Reprogram second. Should your battery in your fob be good and correct.
Crack on Will. Like I said, keep up the vids. We love them
If this doesn’t work, there are Fiat Dash board concerns which can interfere with other control modules….. But that’s for another day. Good luck !
Thank you for this very detailed information it’s very helpful will definitely have a look 👀 👍👍
little tip for u, put a damp cloth under ur chopping board to stop it sliding and causing a mishap! x
Thank you 🙏
@@WillsWhereabouts ur very welcome dood, from an ex chef :) really glad to see you making mary more of ur personal home 😍 u cheered me up today im having a real tough health time... so thank YOU x 🏴🏝
The metal area in the interior which you want to hide... get a little whiteboard to put up there, so you can use it as a shopping list for things to pick up, so you don't forget them. Always useful to have somewhere to write something, rather than look around for pen and paper, or pfaff with a phone. Or just put up a picture you enjoy. :)
As a chippy by trade I would be inclined to put a second screw in those jar lids as the more you unscrew the jars then eventually the lids may start to turn as well
You sound like me when your doing mechanics haha. All the swear words I love it!!!
They just slip out 😬
Will you could always put a clock or a notice board over that carpeted gap or even a picture.Another enjoyable video 😁♥️👍
Thanks Denise, great suggestions 🙏👍
Make the van HOMEY NOT HOMELY! Van is looking awesome. I remember way back before the van. It seems so long ago and so many hours of work ago! Great job, Will.
Thank you Denise 🤩
@@WillsWhereabouts Homely is the English word, Homey is the North American equivalent.
Love to watch your videos
Thank you 🙏
I don’t usually leave a comment. I just had to tell you how fun you are to watch! I’m a 76 year old woman & you bring some needed joy to my life! lol
I'm 74 and I enjoy watching too. One question, how do you get items delivered from Amazon with no fixed address?
Hi Will, I don't want to be a smart arse but the water tanks should be installed with the inspection hatches on the top, basically you will probably not be able to seal the lids as they are not designed to take that pressure of water. I was going to tell you when you fitted them but didn't have the heart. Good Luck with everything. Brian.
Try putting your key in the ignition and turn your ignition on three or 4 times. Do not start the engine you should hear 3 beeps turn your ignition of and lock vehicle hope this helps 😁👍
Your reaction’s are priceless 😎😂
Thanks 🙏
Hi Will...You need to get some 'micro' towels for your van! They dry out about 9x quicker than normal cotton towels and don't take up so much space. Check out the Ordinance Survey range that are pretty cool. Ps love this channel!!
Thanks for the tip 🙏
Anytime!😉 I just saw you standing next your big white cotton towel in the 'Starting to feel like home' vlog and thought, "He needs micro towels in his life!" 🚙🚙🚙👍
@15:42, just hysterical! I can't stop watching 🤣
Thanks 🙏
Great vid bud.
Thank you 🙏
I haven’t watched in a while but that van is amazing
Nice bro all coming along nicely ✌
Thank you 🙏
@@WillsWhereabouts always mate your a great lad with good intentions as the roadsters would say keep on trucking my friend ✌
Them tuning boxes just makes the van over fuel and they cause nothing but bother down the line.
Great video as usual :)
yah, if you want to tune it, do it properly with an ecu remap on a rolling road...
If they were that good, the manufacturer would be using it, 20%, sounds like snake oil to me
Looking good bro
Thank you 🙏
Take a small flat head screw driver to open up the fob and see if you can just replace its battery! And lightly glue back or snap back together
You've learned so much, Will, you should qualify for a Masters in Van Building, it looks great. You should be very pleased with yourself, Will. Lovely home.
Thank you 🙏
HA HA You sound like Me cursing cussing to myself. Releases Negative Energy / thoughts👍👍⬆️🚙😎
It just slips out 😂
Freaking love you and your videos. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you 🙏
Will, when it comes to corroded bolts, nuts heat is your friend you must have a gas touch of some description in the workshop apply heat being carful of what is around the item and you will find it free up most things. Also i will be interested to see the results from the plug and play tuning box.
Thanks for the advice John much appreciated 👍👍
Loony tunes love it 😊
