- My name is Arslan and I’ve been living in vehicles for the past few years. My journey of alternative living began after I was fed up with the high cost of rent in the United States. I fell in love with the idea of living on the road, so over the years, I converted a sprinter van, a Camaro and most recently been living in my 2014 chevy suburban camper car. I enjoy making UA-cam videos and recording my different experiences to share with you guys. I’m also a nurse half days of the week because I have a significant passion for helping people.

UA-cam Posting Schedule: I usually post on Saturdays 9am EST (NY time). I'm currently posting 1 video every 2 weeks but I'm working towards posting 1 video a week.

If you want to travel nurse, I recommend having at least 1 or 2 years before you do it.

You are adorable and an inspiration to an almost 60 yr old who is going to mini van life out of necessity .
That's very sad. America needs to do better for it's people. We should all be able to afford houses like our grandparents did. There's just too many people on the planet.
@@DracoPadilla Australia too, I'm afraid. I'm 52 and my daughter is nearly 18 in her last year of high school. Our rent has sky-rocketed over the last two years and I can't save to buy a house. House prices have also gone up way too high for a single person to buy. I'm going to make sure my daughter is independent and safe and then I'll hit the road too. I have a Mitsubishi Montero (Pajero in Australia) and I've already been sleeping in it for camping trips. All off-grid solar power etc. Totally comfortable and chipping away at making it really liveable within the next 12 months or so, I'd say. Arslan inspires me with every video.

You might not know, but here’s some tips about condensation. Propane or breathing causes it. As you sleep moisture is transferred from your body, thru your mattress and onto your plywood, where mold is created. Then you start getting sick. Cover your mattress with plastic, or drill holes in your plywood for air to reach. Every day leave your door open long enough to eliminate moisture. Wipe off what you can.
Good tip. You can also put a mat under the mattress made of breathable material like a foam or other polymer.

Yeah, he is a male nurse and l know he learned about back pain in nursing school, geez! Arslan, sweetie, you can only do it now while you are young and physically fit but when you reach my ripe old age of 73 yrs. old, quality sleep on a firm mattress is a must! Less storage is a better option than popping extra-strength Tylenol for back pain, ha, ha! We need you to stay healthy and well to continue enjoying your funny and awesome videos! If we look at life and our circumstances, most of us are pilled in debts because we want more then our actual needs.
We want the best looking cars, big house best clothes ect ect.... when really all you need is a roof over your head, something that drives your around and something to put on your back to hide the private parts. We actually put ourselves in financial situations to either impress others or become selfish on our wants over our actual basic needs.
I've been changing my whole scenario, never been a materialistic person (which helps) i dont need the best of the best. i have been doing a lot of food canning, freezing, growing food which is a big huge cost saving. down sized living area ect ect
If we would all go back to basics instead of wasting so much money on things even easy "food" meals that cost so much more then making it yourselves we would be in a better situation not only financially but mentally.
Keep doing what your doing you will appreciate life and simple things so much more!
Great video, but something seems dangerous about using an electrical pump to move diesel fuel. Yes diesel is a lot less flammable than gasoline but it is still flammable and the vapors can ignite as well. Also, leaving the pump (with battery) inside a bag with diesel fuel in the tubing… something doesn’t seem right about that. Stay safe!
Ive been living in my Suburban by choice and its been the best, easiest, cheapest most freeing experience in my life. I hate paying rent. I work 40 hours and i put sh!t loads of money away. I get free wifi and no rent, free power, free toiletries. I cant believe it took me until 45 years old to figure this out. Im thinking about upgrading to a class B or C RV, but i like the stealthyness of my Suburban.

When I was a truck driver I figured out a way to carry 14 days change of clothes. What I would do is I have black shirt with a pocket shorts underwear socks roll them up put a rubber band on it. Put it in a bag keep that process up with the exact same clothing. In transportation you have to be quick or you will be waiting for everything. Having your clothes ready to go so you can get on out there and get that shower well it makes a world of difference. Just in 30 seconds a line of two people could turn into 10. If you can get out of your truck and get to that spot before then guess what you just beat out 10 people.
When I cooked with whole foods, that reduced my trash. That helped a lot.

His Suburban set up is ingenious and totally optimal for the space. So you know when he does get a van it's going to be totally bad ass
I think vans are cheaper , and great for full time living, but when you have that as your living quarters full time, it presents a problem. All your furniture get shaken to death! Like an earthquake daily. So you got to figure that in to your build. 2. A way to vent. Heard of mold ? I have seen set- ups to die for! But if you didn’t that these 2 things into consideration, you are going to see problems down the road! No one likes problems! I am more than sure you will come up with a solution 😊Fast thought, transfer what U are using now to a van , no money spent , I guess you might want a taller kitchen set up. As you earn more money these things will come!😊😋
I don't know anybody that wants to smell a diesel in their vehicle here's what you got to do son you got to take the cap off the In-N-Out diesel. You need to drill a hole in that so you can run that tube down to the bottom this way it'll stay sealed and all you got to do is recharge your pump whenever it drains. This way you don't have to store the pump it just sits on the top.

Instead of a spice rack, I've seen some vanlifers use strong magnets on spice bottles and then either stick them to a magnetic appliance or hang magnet strips on the wall or inside cabinet door. Love your videos! Wish you could do more, but I know time is a scarce resource. I respect that you're a nurse.
He could use magnetic straps or tape them to his bottles of spices and then put a strip of metal across the wall he created to separate 'the kitchen'. They would then hang out on that wall.

Magnetic spice holders. For me I put them on my fridge. But maybe metal plate held on by double sided foam tape behind your sink.

The best part is how clean you are. I have seen so many videos of people living this lifestyle and they don't shower or wash their clothes/bedding. It is so gross. I don't understand how they can live without basic hygiene. In this day and age, there are showers and laundromats available somewhere during their travels.

I’m gonna try to outfit my Toyota 4Runner as a camper, go camping, and dip my toes in this self-sufficient lifestyle.
Upgrades, baby! The best toilet/shower enclosure I've seen in a van is where the woman had her coats hanging behind the driver's seat like a little coat closet, and had a shelf at the bottom. The other side of the coat closet was the wall of her shower/bathroom. She had a swing up door and the toilet that slid out from under the coat closet when she wanted to use it and it was tucked away and hidden (and dry!) when she wasn't using it. Best arrangement I've seen.
Also people who do the fancy filtering in order to reuse the shower water and not have to skimp on their showers and also not worry about getting water more frequently in order to have a hot decent shower.
I also love the Murphy beds in a van. Seems so smart and easy to just fold your wall up and you're ready to roll.
And get a decent sized sink!

Always good to see you. Try a small tray for your spices. As for trash. Maybe see how you can reduce your trash. Do you separate recycling? I use the plastic bags from shopping. You probably could take some of your trash with you when you go to shower ❤ Try isometric exercise. No weights needed
I am fairly new to your channel. I just started watching UA-camrs who live out of their vehicles in the last month or so. Something I have been waiting to do and just getting prepared. I have to say you are probably one of my favorites yet! I think van is a good idea. Even though your car camper is great, I think it's tough to live in one as a long-term housing option. There isn't enough room to stretch. All the best in finding the right van, I'm looking forward to seeing it materialise.
