    I'm currently planning to build a horizontal boiler, based some-what off a mamod. I'm planing to make it using a length of brass pipe. Do you have any suggestions for things I should do?

    Hi
    Its hard to see from the picture exactly what you have built, can you give a tutorial on how you built the pressure tester

    Thank you Sir for sharing your time and knowledge, I enjoy your posts because of your easy to follow, I might imagine you were or are an educator,
    Thanks again.

      Thank you for your kind comments ..... I have been a Musician/Sound Engineer/Computer Engineer and part time college lecturer on computers, but I wouldn't call myself an educator as such .....

    Thanks for the video Keith, I had a few questions about this particular boiler though; I was wondering what make and model it is? As well as how well does the single flue tube work for creating steam? I was hoping to build a simple traction engine boiler using the same method
    Many thanks,
    Jack :)

    Great video, it’s very helpful! I have just one question. How do you determine the working pressure of the boiler?

    • @keithappleton
      @keithappleton  4 роки тому

      That is set by the boilermaker based on the design and application.

      @@keithappleton I was hoping there was a formula or a rule of thumb based on size. I have an old boiler of unknown origins that I'd like to test.

      join a local model engineering club. The will test the boiler for you.

    It just came to me I was wondering maybe if you could do a tutorial on manifold for all our miniature railway fans and builders out there

    Isn’t it called a hydrostatic test ?

    • @keithappleton
      @keithappleton  2 роки тому +1

      It is known as Hydraulic Testing - that's why I called the episode "Hydraulic Boiler Testing" . . . . . .
