They didn't have any data about Promethean constructs until they were encountered & partially recovered. The Guardians? They don't even have solid proof of their physical existence beyond the attacks.
Which is probably why they are grasping at straws assuming Blue Team going off the map has to do with the Guardians activation, and due to the organizations already length paranoia; they are assuming Blue Team is responsible in some way.

Lots of people are wondering "Locke and Tanaka forehead thing" and what was up with it.
I'm thinking, she could be the most nervous among the four of them. Locke, Buck, and Vale have a much thicker skin for things compared to Tanaka. The close tap of helmets could have been a sign to help her acknowledge that the team was there with her, and would watch her back. Nightfall has shown that Locke cares a lot for his team.
oh man can't wait, 175 Armor/camo sets and over 50 visors to choose from. less than four weeks now.
I get that ONI would want Chief detained if he stopped obeying orders (no matter the scenario), but this trailer shows that they also believe that Chief is directly responsible for the Guardians' awakening. Is he actually setting these things off? Or maybe he just knows the order in which they activate? Also the million dollar question remains the same for the third year in a row, WHAT THE HECK DO THE GUARDIANS EVEN DO?! :O

+josh11735 The Guardian Sentinels are designed to wipe out entire systems that have fallen to the Flood. They are weapons of mass destruction rivaled by only a handful of Forerunner constructs, namely the Halo Array.
Also, I believe Chief's sudden access to the Domain might be what is setting off the Guardians. He isn't yet able to comprehend or control his connection to the Domain, so he may be unknowingly setting the Guardians off.

Something tells me there are two endings in the campaign. He dies or Locke dies. Or they work together to fight the guardian.

I find it interesting that everybody is against Locke, saying he's the 'bad guy' to them. But I'm not so sure he personally wants to end the chief because of lines like these "You're not the only one who's here because of him." and after Arbiter says Chief has his reasons for leaving. "I'm sure he does, Arbiter, and I intend to find out what they are." I'm just saying... Let's not jump to conclusions just yet. His backstory while filming Nightfall was something akin to "a man who is unsure about the organization he take orders from". Maybe I'm trying to find the good in just a bad person... but I don't think so.

i Belive john knows what he is doing and called in blue team to help him. remember halo 3 when Cortana apears and it goes slowmotion? i think something simulare is going on in that helmet of Johns ;) but what is the real threath? the forerunners and their guardians? Soooo how long till the Official Halo movie? See all this action and Spartan suits gets me thinking that they might be used for something other than a commercial in the future.
+Royal Raptor I think Halo would be a hard story to adapt into a movie. Not impossible but difficult. If they were able to get the money to make a movie like that then it could have the coolest fights of any movie made (Finally a movie where the bad guys actually hit there target and you being able to see the shields glow showing how close the hero is to death instead of having Bond henchmen and storm troopers just miss). One was supposed to made by a rookie director in (2009) but was shutdown because of fear that the movie could be bad and cost a lot of money. The directors first movie was later District 9. actual concept art and props released a couple months ago.

Grant Lauzon Yah I know about the other movie that got shutdown, I have seen the Landfall clip over and over just hoping someday. It wouldn't be that hard as long as it followed new characters such as a squad of Spartan IVs or some ODSTs. Plus you could do it in any time of the universe that you wanted, the start of the war would be cool. Then later movies could follow Johnson through his time in the war or anyone else. Plus I would love to see the enemy actually hit their targets and show how hard the war actually was on the human race. How fast, tactical and hard to kill elites were or how big and brutal (pun intended) brutes were; Or how killing hunters as a normal human was next to impossible unless you had rockets or a tank. They could do so much and expand the universe, someday I hope we get one with a good director and all, someone who knows the universe and loves it. Last thing: you could follow the story of Buck! His military career is really full of action.
Royal Raptor I agree. Halo has a vast Lore filled Universe... But I think some audiences would be confused and some fans would be pissed if there wasn't a "halo" in the first movie titled Halo (assuming others are made). So 2552 onward.
Perhaps since a large portion of HCE is spent wandering through the snow they could use flash backs to explain the SII project, the Insurrection, and the fall of the colonies and Reach (Kind of like H3ODST).
Show the (unknown to some audiences) MC kicking ass then leaving the Pillar of Autumn and getting nocked out in the landing to trigger the first flashback.

In Hunt the Truth season2, episode 2, Maya hears people shooting in one of the videos she is shown when being briefed. Its unknown who is shooting or what at. Well we now know who was shooting. We dont see what at, but my early guess when I first listened to the episode was someone firing at promethians.

Oh and the as for the Guardians, they are awakening to protect the Domain and the Absolute Record. At least that's my guess. Chief is trying to find out why because he simply doesn't know at the moment.. Maybe Halsey will meet him at some point and when they reunite he will know the truth.

I honestly completely agree. Always been a Halo fan but i feel like the IP need to move more into film and TV. The universe is so rich and interesting that, as good as the games are, they can't really capture what i feel is the best parts of the lore.
Vote 1 for Halo film that doesn't focus on the master chief (as badass as he is)

Halo 6: Osiris and Blue Team break Benjamin Giraud out of ONI's prison (possibly with the help of FERO and Myshak since he will seem to return in the next episode of hunt the truth) they then speak of ONIs lies to the public! Huge riots and shit! Chief retires... And goes into learning his past! The burden is given to Locke... Then comes Halo 7 hopefully

+Devin Harris Meridian is a natural satellite that orbits a gas giant planet. Meridian was glassed in 2551. After the Human-Covenant War, the moon was recolonized.
Also, during the Battle of Meridian, a Covenant spec-ops team found a Luminary (a Forerunner artifact) in which it revealed the existence of the Ark and the location of a portal to get to it. With the portal being located on a planet called "Erde-Tyrene", the Covenant had no clue it was actually the human's home world - Earth. So, the Prophet of Regret gathered a small fleet to go there. So that's basically how the Covenant found Earth.

You just completely missed my point. Yes, the Naval Special Warfare Command controls funding and such for the Spartan II Program, but these "Sailors" are not trained in the same basic training that UNSC Naval Personnel are. For instance US Army Rangers take specialized trained, after they finish Ranger School and are assigned to a Ranger Battalion, they are no longer intelligently referred to as "Soldiers", but "Rangers". Same with ODST, they're called Helljumpers, not Sailors. The correct term in an overall way would be Sailor, sure, but that disrespects the specialized training. Spartans are Spartans. Was it wrong for the trailer to call him Soldier? Maybe. But would it have been more correct to call him a Sailor? No. Soldier rolls off the tongue more easily, and Soldier to any uninformed individual simple means a members of a certain factions armed forces. I do not think the trailers intent was to specify the Master Chief as a Soldier in the same way that a member of the UNSC Army is called a Soldier.
