How To Hoard Hondas

- How do you track down and buy almost 250 Honda three wheelers in about 4 years? This is how!
From late 2016 until today I've been very busy, out and about acquiring at least one of every Honda three wheeler made; 1 of every model, year and color. With the help of some good friends, an amazing wife, 3 awesome kids, and a wonderful mother, these Hondas keep following me home.
If I had it to do all over again, I would have made a video of every trike adventure I've been on... but since that didn't happen, I've decided to stitch all my "Back of the Truck" pictures together and tell a little story about how and when they showed up.
4 years of hoarding summed up into 20 minutes. Looking back it's hard for me to believe I did this... But I didn't do it alone and I'm thankful for all those who helped along the way! What's funny is I know I missed a couple machines!!
I have an 84 200s that my dad gave me a few years before he passed away. It's all original and in pretty mint condition. Plastics, the gas tank, etc. all mint! It sat in the garage for quite few years after the rear bearings went on it, but my uncle has been helping me fix it over the last few weeks. So far we've replaced the rear and front axle bearings and all the seals, new brake pads front and back, cleaned the carb, new air filter and I got new tires for it because I want to preserve the originals. I have so many good memories of my dad and this bike. Now it's time to make new memories with it and my son. He's just turning 3 and someday the plan is to pass it on to him. :)
Hi im from Canada Nova Scotia if u find a old z 50 that not the red o
That’s crazy haha. I have two 1984 trx200s’s, one was my grandpas on my moms side, and one was on the other! I guess they were the cool machines to get…
That's great, mine sat for maney years, just before covid
I got a lot of help from a new friend. Engine, tire's ECT the only thing left is real wheel spacers. Then I would like to ride again.
I just don't know were to go. So if ya know of any good places
Keep me in mind. I just got a new helmet this 52 years young
Would like to try again...
@@bradleydevoe6586 how cool I would love to go up there.
Stop by oak island. I was in florida be for covid and hooked
Up with Garry the metal detecting guy. So I got a lesson from
Him. What a Awsom guy. I hope I get there soon maybe. !
Does your wife have a single sister like her? Lol My wife still picks at me here and there for getting a 250R and keeping my street bike
Unfortunately she's the only girl... 😔
id get rid of the wife and keep the 250r
@@davesilvia9711 my wife is a better kisser...
No shit most of thease women now days have no clue blows my mind !!! U are not crazy dud if I had the money I would do the same thing!!!
@@rickybailey7123 That's right. I found a very special lady. Very blessed.
What a great video,, my wife even watched. She now knows there are others like me. Keep them coming and once again great video!!!
Thank you very very much!!
These videos of yours sparked me to look at the atc 90 again. Ended up finding an all original and excellent shape 75’ atc 90 right down to the original tires. Super cool bikes and a ton of fun
I hope to find two in good riding condition, a 200 big red with racks and a 110 with new plastic. Fingers crossed for 2024
Just keep looking and you'll find what you're looking for.
Now you got me all nostalgic. Getting the itch to go get a trike. It feels really good. Brings back that feeling when you didn’t have a care in the world…..oh what a feeling it is. Thank you. Very enjoyable video for sure……👍
Awesome! lol. Crazy to look back at all those Hondas that jumped into my truck!!
I have that same feeling at 40 now I am just riding them around in my yard like when I was 5 again
What source does he use to find all these Gems?
Marketplace... formerly craigslist... sometimes word of mouth.
Just get the tri Color Trx 2013-2014 Trx would finish off the collection. That’s just gold
Great video, thanks for sharing your awesome collection. It’s always nice seeing other guys that have spent years hoarding these fantastic old machines !!!
Thank you!!! Crazy to think of all the places I've been to track them down... Lots of stories to tell!
Brother, You have a bottomless bank account.......
There's definitely a bottom... if it were bottomless things work get even more ridiculous around here!
I have 30 Honda ATCs, and until I saw this video, I thought i had an impressive collection. I now realize I am a rookie amateur collector. Dang impressive what you have collected. If I ever pull the trigger on my collection, because my wife says the bikes or her, I will contact you and see if you're interested.
Crazy collection, I’m 16 and I’ve been looking for a 250r for a long time now, if you ever wanna sell, email me please
What's up man! Thanks for watching. I'll add your name to the list! Typically when I do sell something I'll post it for sale on my instagram first, so if you follow me over there, you'll see the things I"m selling.
Sweet, thank you
Good for you dude ! Do what you love in this life. Looks like tons of good , honest , clean fun ! Your kids will never forget any of those memories . Still have my 250SX I bought new.
Thanks brother! Very much appreciated!
Is 1200$ a good price for a 1983 big red? It’s all original and I would be buying it from the original owner. The machine is self is very clean.
That is a real good price based on your description.
I would love to have the Green thing and the black thing.
So your rich right? I got 1 motorcycle .
I work hard, I work smart, I work to better myself, and I like Honda three wheelers. Once upon a time I had just one, too. That's where it starts!
Love your collection.
When I was a teen, I had a deck of Honda playing cards and I was drooling over an ‘85 200x but my parents never let me get one. My late uncle had a red 110 we rode when we visited him in Arizona and my dad had a blue trail 70. My parents have since passed, and I’m purchasing 3 acres of mountain property and my wife suggested we get some quads for the property and the kids. Hell yes, I now ride a harley but my ATV dreams might finally now be realized. I just need my 18 year old son to put down the playstation controller and join me in some outdoor fun. We will probably be looking for used sport quads out here in Central Cali.
PS.
I just found my old Honda playing cards when I cleaned out my Moms house.
I hear you about kids putting down the electronics! I just had 2 of my 3 kids out with me at trike fest and it fills my heart to see them out there on wheelers with smiles on their faces. And I've got a couple decks of those cards myself and they're awesome. Honda was the best at having cool stuff like that.
Maybe you are not the right person to ask.... I just purchased a piece of property that was a honda dealership at some point. There are lots of old parts in certain rooms some are new old stock and some are used however those areas of the building have been weather damaged and the roof had collapsed. There are some plastic pieces I believe are usable, but after spending 4 days not realizing the gem existed I found a complete what appears to be never started or ridden 350X atc I am not sure what year I think its 1985 however as the dealer was flooded in 1986 closing it for good. There is plastic wrapped on cables and rubber parts hat appears to be fresh from a crate as the front tire is not on it, it is separate next to it. It is on a pallet with a strap still holding part of it on. I am going to sell it and I am trying to get an idea on price and if I should clean and put it to shiny condition and sell it that way or as it sits. There is no oil in it and since it was stored under the first floor it has remained dry and corrosion free... It is remarkably clean new condition! It was behind a wall in a dugout area under the stairs from the ground floor.... I can't believe it went unnoticed all these years.
I would love to talk more about this and see some pictures!! My cell phone number is 518-332-3040 Please shoot me a text or give me a call at your convenience!
Just kept following me home 🤣🤣🤣 yea right 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol, I must be magnetized!
Your collection takes the cake . Very nice work and dedication. There's a barn full of 200x's, 250r's a few 350s and there might be a cpl odysseys. They were put up there in the early 90s with low hours. I know the long story of how he ended up with all of them...i do not know why he has refused to sell a single 1 or really show anyone (esp now a days). Iv been asking 21 years including a bunch of others i know and hes a cold sob about it.. They were prepped for long term storage mechanically and covered in a good dry barn... The owner has not touched them since tucking away. Its killing me but wont give up..
Thank you so much! Wow, what a honey hole you're describing! I'd love to see those too!
Better you THAN ME! LOL
Absolutely awesome buddy.
Loved this Honda Hoarding journey. Watched every second. I'm still blown away by the time frame. When I first saw your collection I assumed it was a 20 year effort finding and collecting. Love it!
Thank you sir!
Lol right he's been hard at work... good for him
He calls it a green thing and black thing SMH.. He's no true ATV collector if he talks like that.. An 86 ATC 250 and 86 Tacate 250 and 86 Tri Z 250 is the ultimate 3 combo..
Lol, wow man, way to take a joke! Guess I'm not an ATV collector then because I only like Honda's.... I had the ultimate 3 combo and sold off the green thing and the black think AND NEVER RODE THEM! I couldn't care less to have them in my collection or about what you think!
My name is Jeff from Rochester NY,I have had over 600 Honda ATCs over the yrs,I still have a lot of parts,85 250sx headlight,350X shocks and a lot more, atc speedo f your interested, presteen collection you have,Thanks
Hi Jeff, what is a good way to get ahold of you?
*Just WoW....that's all I can say....i recently picked up a 82 Big Red for my off-grid cabin...its honestly the best purchase I've ever made...if my dad was still here...he'd agree 110% & we'd be fighting over who gets to drive the stuff up from the water on the trike :/ miss you dad*
*Awesome collection!*
I never subscribed so fast! Holy shit I guess I know who I'm contacting soon for a nice Trike. Bravo Sir. Amazing Collection
HA! I appreciate the kind words sir! Enjoy the show!
What an amazing collection. I’ve got an 86 200x n an all blacked out 84 200x. My dream was always to have one one every year every color ever model but u beat me to it
Thank you sir!! Man, I'm glad I didn't start later than I did because I don't thing I could have afforded to do it again now.
You apparently have most all of the 350xs which is why I can not find even one for a reasonable rider?! This makes me so happy and yet, also kind of mad. Ha. Beautiful.
What this video doesn't show is me selling anything. Of the over 300 machines I've bought over the years... over 2/3rds have gone on to new homes... so, even though I've bought a bunch of 350X's... I only own 3 currently... well, plus 2 projects that "someday" I'll build up.
I know this is an old video but damn man what a collection! If you were the people down at trikefest this year with the little girl on the pink three wheeler, my old lady talked to her and it's crazy you guys were down there, keep up the good work!
What's up man! That's us! I did the Pink Palomino for my daughter. She begged me to go to Trike Fest in 2022, but I told her no... but I promised her 2023 would be her year. Now she's hooked! Hopefully we'll see you there and get to meet you in person in 2024!!
🤣 Always hating on Kawasaki and Yamaha's. Got any of those side covers for a 87 bigred left? #kawasakirules 🤟🤪
Lol... I'm a Mopar guy too... so if I can fit in a sideways comment on Chevy's and Ford's I always try to do that too!!! No side covers unfortunately brother!
4:45 you are never too big for an atc110. Hit that hi/lo transmission selector when you think you've crossed the gap
I hear what you're saying... and you're right... but why ride a 110 when there are 200's and 250's and 350's out there!! He's currently riding a 250SX these days.
How to hoard Hondas. Make a billion dollars. Buy everyone u see
That works too!
Man, this brings back so many memories! I started out with an ATC 110 back in 1982 I must’ve put 30,000 miles on that poor thing but it never let me down then I bought a 250 R in 1989 the last year they built the high-performance two-stroke and I just sold it a month ago for $4000. Meanwhile I paid $3700 for it brand new 33 years ago, it was hard to let go but I still have a 450 R and a 400 EX for the wife, thank you for what you do, Hondas forever!
Thanks for the comment man!! And for sharing! Man, I wish I knew you had an 89 R for sale! Would love to add one of those to the collection some day. Thanks for watching my videos!
Will you please come at me back I can't find none of these where I live and I'm really looking for a big red and a 250R can you please shoot me a text back and let me know if you would sell any of them
I'm sorry man, I have no Big Reds or 250R's that I want to sell... Where abouts are you located? Where are you looking for these?
I’ve officially started hoarding atc’s. Love your vids. I’m not far from you, if you know anyone who is looking for big reds I have a buddy with about 30 of them!
Awesome! Where abouts are you located roughly?

You're way southwest! Looks like we're about 5.5 hours from each other. I appreciate you watching my videos though man. It's a slippery slope collecting these once you get about 10!
Yes it is! In only a few months ive collected 7. Next on my list is to find a 350X! @@ThisOldTrike
Bro what I’d give how your even finding them I’ve road three wheelers my whole life Tha best u keep it up bro
I'll keep it up!
You need to go to Rehab, lol. But you should try to find a Tecate t-4 might as well get both a green and white one, they’ll look cool in your collection
Well, in my defense... not everything I show being dragged home in this video is still in my collection. Probably 2/3rds were sold off as I upgraded to nicer versions. But, I'm still holding about 110 machines... All Hondas though... I've had Yamaha's, Suzuki's and Kawasaki's... I've sold them all to buy more Hondas.
I'm jealous
Grew up with a 85 200x always had to roll start but fun machine
They are funny machines to kick start for sure. I stand next to them, face backwards and start it with my right foot...
BILLY EDSEL
Had two 350s and a express 50cc
Need to start traveling to buy these back California is so dry
Absolutely. California bikes are typically nice clean survivors.
Did the back window of your truck get broken out by a trike?😆
I have a 79 125CR RED ROCKET short stroke
Nice! Sounds sick man!
Is there 1987 350x and 250r out there??
I don't believe so brother...
Whot price do you say a 250r trike worth as trying to buy one
Depends on year and condition.
Wow !!!! I mean like u could use a few more but a good start 🤣
Lol, thank you for the words of encouragement!!
Awesome story
Thanks man! Pretty crazy to look back at all the stuff I've dragged back to my barn...
No wonder people can't find parts ,this guy's got them all lol, very nice collection
Thankfully Honda was cranking these out by the 10's of thousands!! They're out there!
Amazing collection have you made any Dirt Wheels magazine covers ? Huge Honda 250r fan I can only imagine the addiction owning multiple machines with different power levels, sounds and smells. What a dream man 👍
I've been in Dirt Wheels in the Parting Shot section, but not on the cover or featured or anything.
Thank you for that video! What a blast!!
You bet man! Glad you liked it!
I thought I had a bike/atv addiction right bud god bless
Lol, I've gone off the deep end for sure!
The ATCs were and are still my favorite machines to ride. Particularly the 85-86 250r. The 350x was far more reliable but that 250r felt so violent and fun. I have 3 of the 86 250r engine cutouts never ran.
I owned a 1989, TRX 250 R and that thing fired up on the second kick the whole time I had it for 33 years I just sold it for more than I paid for it originally
Do you ever go through withdrawals?
Occasionally...
Someone hit the lottery lol
Sorta! Born into a family that taught me how to work hard and develop a strong work ethic! Very thankful for that! Would be amazing to actually hit the lottery though! Things would get pretty insane around here!!

Where abouts are you located. I have a friend who just got an 85 200X that needs a new home.
Are you selling any of these trikes?
I sell on occasion. The only thing I'm letting go of currently is a 1978 ATC 90 and a 1980 110.
That's so Awsom...
What part of the country are you in ?
Also how far from home do you go to get you stuff ?
One last thing if I may ask. Were do you find most of them.
Like eBay or something like that ?
Thank's for your time
Thanks man! I'm in upstate NY. I have personally driven to buy machines in NY, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI, PA, NJ and OH. I've arranged to pick up machines at Trike Fest in Indiana that came from IN, MI, MO and IL. I have had my mom bring home machines from TN and VA; and also meet a shipper for me who was bringing a machine from TX to NY. I've had machines shipped from CA, TX, NC, IL, WI AND.... 2 machines from England (that get's pricey...).
I have found them over the years on Craigslist, but then that transitioned to Facebook Marketplace... but a lot of time now it's word of mouth... but I've gotten more selective with regard to quality and I'm looking more for higher end stuff. I've never bought a machine off ebay or won one in a raffle... So there ya go!
@@ThisOldTrike that's great insight thank you
It's funny I'm in orange county ny by pa.
Do you do a lot of riding with your Trikes or just for show . I have a 85 honda xr350r it's a bike but is awesome and I got it new back then.
For me I have a hard time finding places to ride any suggestions ?
Thank's
I dont want to hoard, I just want a decent 200x or 350x to ride around. Hoarding just means they arent being enjoyed like Binky's, they are just sitting there doing nothing and its a huge waste
Thanks for chiming in. Thankfully there are thousands of rider 350X's and 200X's around. Good luck with your search! I am enjoying these though! You're only looking at things frome one side and assuming your way is the only correct way. These, and Binky's, are being preserved and they're only a tiny fraction of what's out there.
Im looking at things from both sides. I watch and subscribed to your channel because you inform people about the history and occasionally show people riding them. I wish there were tons of trikes around but in NY you cant find a decent 350x for under $6000. There is a channel of a guy in NY but he buys them all, cobbles them together and piles them up, most outside in a case of entropy. In my area the hoarders arent preserving anything, they buy them all, strip them down and charge outrageous prices for pieces on ebay.
Time how do you find the time ?
Lol, great question. I don't fish... I don't golf... I'm a very involved father and husband... and pretty much any free time I get is spent/divided up among house projects/maintenance, family time, and trikes...
@@ThisOldTrike Same here , I have 20 acres 4 dirtbikes 2 quads and 3 tractors and I can't keep up , you are the man !!!
can i buy a honda atc 250r from you
I don't have any for sale unfortunately...
Filling a subconscious void?
Obviously!! Lol!
Awesome collection. I couldn't imagine being able to collect that many. The 88 250r quad is an awesome machine, but I think the other guy made out with that Tecate 3. The 86 Tecate 3, or a Tecate 4 are my bucket list toys.
Thank you! I'm not so sure that you're right though about the 88 R vs. the Tecate. The Tecate was maybe a 5 or 6 out of 10 regarding condition. It ran and all, but left a lot to be desired. The 88 R is definitely a 9+ out of 10. It's not perfect but is WAY nicer than that Tecate was. Not to mention, I'm a Honda guy and really don't care about any other brand.
🤔🍀 LUCKY MAN 🍀 ❗️☝️HONDA 👍✌️❣️
Thank you!
Dude has the 4 most iconic trikes sitting in mint condition made me tear up 350x,tacate ,tri Z, 250r
Did you hit the lottery?
Yes sir, the wife lottery. Mine is AMAZING.
what do you do for a living?
I normally tell people I'm a salamander breeder, but in all honestly I click a mouse and push paper at a medical device manufacturer.
Thinking recently how I had a bunch of machines at home, 1984 125m, 1986 250es, 1986 xr80r, 1977 CB550F, 2016 Ktm 150sx, 2008 Ktm 450xc. lmao. Very nice collection. You're pretty lucky coming across these 250r and 350sx, because here in Quebec, Canada they are a pain to find. I would trade all my stuff just for one of these 2. I watched the whole thing very impressive collection. I would be a kid in a candy store walking in your garage thats for sure!
Will you sell me a 250 big red or 250sx?
I don't have any I'm ready to part with at the moment. I don't still own everything in the video anymore, but I do have one of each model/year/color that Honda made except one odd ball model sold outside the US.
So fcking sick man i love it

I grew up on Honda three wheelers my first one was a Honda 110 brand new from the Honda shop I had that thing for about 15 years but in between I had several other three wheelers a couple 200 exes from my all-time favorite was that 86350x if I can find one I don't care what kind of condition it is even really super crappy condition I would buy it I want one keep your ears open and remember me if you see one thank you I love your videos
What do you do for a living😂?? Nice collection in college right now picked up a big red 200e trying to learn how to work on it!!

Did I miss your Fourtrax 300fw or is that one you don't have for some reason?
I don't have one... no good reason. Maybe one of these days!
Well you could get one to fill the empty gap of the evolution of Honda fourwheelers from '88-'00. Its also supposed to the highest selling 4wheeler of all time too. It's legendary!
And it got me hooked on Hondas... I'll keep watching and hope to see you adding a Cosmic Grey '88 in your lineup in the future!
Awesome great job Brother, I'm still looking doe a 1986 or '85 Big Red not as many up here in Canada
I wish I could afford to just get any 4 wheeler to take my daughter riding on I love riding and so does she just can't afford it I got a cheap 3 wheeler big red with reverse but it locked up work ass off and still don't have crap to show lol that's life anyways I love your collection man
God damn save some for the rest of us lol. I’ve got a 200s,TRX250, and TRX125.
You got a problem 😂
Yeah... kinda!
I have a 84 125m and a 84 200es big red and I ride the wheels off of it, I really want a 250r and a 200x
The 70 ATC had to be the toughest thing ever made. We stayed with my cousins in Central Louisiana one summer and we never let it cool off when the sun was up! Collectors like you and Binky have saved so many trikes and brings back so many memories of growing up riding a lot of these models.
Thank you so much Carl!!
And at Binkys those trikes are just sitting there doing NOTHING. Its sad. They were meant to be ridden

How many Honda Atc's does it take to be considered a true Honda Hoarder?
