love Mark, thanks for representing Catholics so well. Lent is the perfect time to seek God and practice prayer. This is what our country needs right now.
YES... that's an understatement !! He actually seems " healthy normal rational sensible etc " !! Ironically , The USA has become SOOO radicalised by religion... you actually need a little less to gain some objectivity back !!
As it looks like you don't even know what CATOLICOS means in Greek.....it means Eastern congregational churches.....what you call Catholics....is actually the Roman Catholic Church, which instead of Jesus on cross on the square..have Egyptian obelisk
@@janetg. he has been blessed so much! Praying for continuation of your happiness, peace, health and family life Mark! God is the winner always, nothing else above HIM!
There are probably other celebrities who are devoted to their faith, but Mark is one of the greatest celebrity who is not afraid to show his publicly. Thank you for being a good Catholic role model for my kids.
@erauprcwa You're right. But what I'm trying to say is that when they called him for the interview, Mark didn't go wiping off the ash on his forehead. I think what Matthew 6:6 is talking about is not to "brag about", or "show off" your faith just so people would think you're such a religious individual.

@@ayoolukoga9829 God is not against images per se. Understood correctly, it is the worship of idols that are spoken of here in the verses you cited. But before going biblical, let’s use logic first. Here's an analogy. Think of having pictures or images of someone you love. Do we not carry them around or have them somewhere to aid us in remembering them? Also, we have images of them because we love them. If we have picture or images of someone we love out of love, should we not have the picture or image of God whom we should love above anyone or everyone else? Think about it for a moment. I’m sure God, in his infinite wisdom and knowledge, would know that the target of worship is not the image itself but rather him. As a Catholic before images or a representation of God, I’ve never felt the urge to worship a piece of cloth or paper or wood. No, they are merely visual aids to help us fix our attention on our prayers, to avoid distractions, and to increase the fervor of our adoration of God - especially in case of crucifixes, which should constantly remind us of the love of the Triune God. I can’t see why that would be reprehensible, why God would be against that. The essence of idolatry is the worship of the creature rather than the Creator, which is not the case here. Now, let move on to biblical support. You cited Exodus 20. Do we read a Bible passage in isolation? There are a lot of apparent contradictions - not real, but just apparent contradictions - in the Bible, including this one with other Bible passages. So we have to reconcile and harmonize them, read within its context and alongside other parallel passages to ensure understanding of its true meaning. Israelites had the tendency to fall prey to idolatry, being in a polytheistic world. I would suggest that the prohibition is of idol worship, not a blanket prohibition of images. Some of the similar passage are Exodus 34:17 and Lev 3:4. If we are to understand it as blanket prohibition against images, even if it is in religious context, that would contradict other Bible verses. 5 chapters later, God commands Moses to carve statues for a religious purpose: two cherubim which would sit atop the Ark of the Covenant. See *Exodus 25:18-20.* God indeed welcomes sacred images. Solomon placed many images in the Temple. *(See 1 Kings **6:23**-29).* Solomon even went further, placing images of animals on objects used for Temple worship: The bronze basin “stood on figures of twelve oxen” *(1 Kings **7:25**).* In fact, instead of forbidding images, God commanded the setting up of a bronze serpent, a carved or graven image, to be used for prayer to God for healing *(Num 21:6-9).* Significantly, this a prophetic figure of Christ on the Cross as testified by the Church Fathers. So, it’s not just an image, it even prefigures Christ. You only have to look at it and be healed, the Scripture says. Now, let's move on to *Nicea II.* This matter was settled, once and for all, in the second Council of Nicea in 787, both accepted by the East and the West, before the Great Schism, and before the Protestant movement, when the entire Christendom was still united. We have to recall that Jesus Christ promised to send us the Paraclete, the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, to guide us into all truth *(John 16:13).* Are we so little of faith that we can’t hold to the promise of Christ or to the work of the Holy Spirit? The united Church has spoken, composed of bishops, the successors of the Apostles, to whom Jesus Christ also mandated that we have to listen to: Whoever listens to you, listens to me; whoever rejects you, rejects me; whoever rejects me, rejects him who sent me *(Luke 10:16).* The praying to saints is an even simpler topic to address, that it's not even worth bothering. Just google it. And I disagree. It is Protestantism that is anti-biblical, which is ironical, given its Sola Scriptura belief.
He is such a great dad by teaching by example and not forcing his kids. It’s nice to see that he has strong faith and that God is opening many doors for him to have a great life.

It is good to know that people come together in the name of God. I just hope they come with good intentions if you know what I mean, but still it is good to see that it was packed.
See *Exodus 25:18-20.*
God indeed welcomes sacred images. Solomon placed many images in the Temple. *(See 1 Kings **6:23**-29).*
Solomon even went further, placing images of animals on objects used for Temple worship: The bronze basin “stood on figures of twelve oxen” *(1 Kings **7:25**).*
In fact, instead of forbidding images, God commanded the setting up of a bronze serpent, a carved or graven image, to be used for prayer to God for healing *(Num 21:6-9).* Significantly, this a prophetic figure of Christ on the Cross as testified by the Church Fathers.
The united Church has spoken, composed of bishops, the successors of the Apostles, to whom Jesus Christ also mandated that we have to listen to: Whoever listens to you, listens to me; whoever rejects you, rejects me; whoever rejects me, rejects him who sent me *(Luke 10:16).*
The praying to saints is an even simpler topic to address, that it's not even worth bothering. Just google it.
And I disagree. It is Protestantism that is anti-biblical, which is ironical, given its Sola Scriptura belief.
It is so inspiring and refreshing to see a man talking about his faith boldly on a TV show!

I want to congratulate him and tell him that I pray for him and his family with affection so that he remains faithful to the Lord and feels strengthened in his heart.
So proud of Mark and his example to his family and to the world. Thank you Mark! Keep being faithful to Jesus. ❤
I love how outspoken he is about being Catholic 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 we need more and more like him!!! Thank you Mark, may God bless you and keep doing amazing things
God bless you Mark Walberg! I have been a fan of yours since you were Markie Mark! Great singer, great actor, and now I find out you are a great Catholic! I am an Italian woman and a devout Catholic. I got away from the church for many years. God called me back and I look forward to going each week. Don't pressure family. I go alone. I love the Hallow app. God bless you and your family 🙏🏼
A man that has discipline, handsome, family man and believe in God. Yessss! God bless you always. Keep your faith . Excellent!🙏👍
What !! This is so great on national television Our Catholic Faith shared by such a hard working great actor like Mark W. !! Love it thank you 😊 ❤
Also Bowing down and Venaratung Images is wrong which you do according to Catechism 2132:
The Christian veneration of images is not contrary to the first commandment which proscribes idols. Indeed, "the honor rendered to an image passes to its prototype," and "whoever venerates an image venerates the person portrayed in it." The honor paid to sacred images is a "respectful veneration," not the adoration due to God alone. (Catechism 2132)
Because:
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me Exodus. 20:4-5
Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God. Leviticus 26:1
Prayng to Saints is also wrong which you do according to Catechism 956:
The intercession of the saints. "Being more closely united to Christ, those who dwell in heaven fix the whole Church more firmly in holiness. . . . They do not cease to intercede with the Father for us, as they proffer the merits which they acquired on earth through the one mediator between God and men, Christ Jesus. . . . So by their fraternal concern is our weakness greatly helped." (Catechism 956)
Because it is Praying to the Dead.
It is Necromancy:
Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a NECROMANCER. Deuteronomy 18:11
And only the Spirit makes Intercession for us:
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27

@@ayoolukoga9829 thanks for YOUR opinion, You are fAR from the truth , you have no idea what it is to a Catholic Jesus is my LORD and my Savior. End of Conversation.
Thanks
Love! Love this!! …
so refreshing to hear this on a public platform 💕💕
Love this segment! There’s a lot to be said about detaching from the modern world and being more reflective. Also, meditation and prayer is paramount in self-care and a development of a relationship with God. God bless. ❤
Hello how’re you doing?
He is the reason why I downloaded the app and then all the other stories is why I stayed!! Amazing!!! 🙏🙏🙏😊😊😊
thanks for sharing your faith Mark! Godbless!
Always liked Mark’s work! Pretty cool to see we have faith in common. What a great segment 🙏🏽
Thank you!
I am so proud of him and I'm sure our Father Almighty is proud of him too 🙏
I was pleasantly surprised to find the Today Show featuring Mark Wahlberg talking so boldly yet simply about our beautiful Catholic Faith! Inspirational! I already knew about Mark’s faith but didn’t expect to see it main stream. We need to see more of this across the board! May God reward you!🙏🙏🙏
Amen!!!! May God always bless this man and his beautiful family 😇❤️
Thank you, Today Show for highlighting faith!
I loved Father Stu. Great film that brought me closer to my faith with God
I saw it and it’s good
Thank you both, Mark and Savannah, for doing your part in evangelizing. Thank you for the Today Show for being a evangelization platform too.
You know one of the things my mom is proud of doing is keep us in the church and showing us the love of God. It’s that stays with me and protects me even when I’m far from home. ❤
Good for him now I see him in a whole different way.
Wonderful to see and hear two prominent people in the public eye speaking about matters that go to the depth of our lives.
A spiritual practice is of enormous benefit to everyone -- the person who has one and those around the person.
I agree, God saves not the saved, but the sinners. Thank you Mark for that.
Hmmmm... God's NOT saving anyone !! People SAVE THEMSELVES of their own volition and " convince " themselves they are being " spoken to " !! Doctors call it schizophrenia !! 🤔🙄
Love everything about this clip. Much respect to Mark and Samantha for this wonderful interview.
Amazing man, this is why Mark has always been my favorite!
As a catholic this means alot seeing how he uses his platform .. God bless him
Teary eyed. How beautifully refreshing
This is amazing!! I love lent & the Catholic faith so much!

So inspiring. God bless everyone specially in these times.
I heard about the Hallow app through Mark and absolutely love everything about it especially the meditation portion.
Hello from poland 🇵🇱 Mark 🙏🙏🙏
That is amazing! May God bless Mark and the hostess!
I just really really really love seeing and hearing a celebrity speak about God and the importance of having faith, fasting, etc. Unfortunately it's uncommon to see this is the celebrity world. God bless you Mark.
I went to my church for Ash Wednesday and was so happy to see that the church was packed and that they have to open the hall, and that was packed as well. It is good to know that people come together in the name of God. I just hope they come with good intentions if you know what I mean, but still it is good to see that it was packed. To God be the glory.
Faith is beautiful ‼
GOD BLESS HIM!!!!!🙏🏽🤲🏾❤️❤️❤️
God bless you Mark. We love to listen to you and hear about your faith walk. We are so very proud of you. Can’t wait to hear about fasting this Friday on Hallow. May God continue to bless you abundantly and may you bring many people to God and our Catholic Faith through your witness. 🙏🏼
I am so proud of him and happy for him!
