Thumbs up ya'll if you want Little Feat in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame!
1blastman Wish I had more than two thumbs!
+1blastman How can they NOT be in the Hall!? That's crazy!
+DucksDeLucks
The fact that LF aren't in the HoF means that it don't mean a thing. Some great actors never get an Oscar, but that doesn't diminish their talent. Just means some judges got custard for brains...
You got that right. There are many, many talented people who aren't better known either because they didn't fit the music business' idea of what would sell, or they just weren't in the right place at the right time to get noticed. That doesn't change the reality of their talent. Hats off to all the fine musicians who keep playing for the love of it, whether they become famous or not.
When I was at RRHOF last June LF had almost half of the exhibit dedicated to '70s L.A. Sound' with thier stuff, including two Lowell George Strats. How can The Eagles, Jackson Brown and Linda Ronstadt be in there, and not LF? Fucktardary... BTW put in Eric Johnson and Joe Satriani before they die, or worse yet can't play.
THE SINGLE GREATEST UNDERRATED BAND OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lowell you are still missed greatly!!!!!!!!
Little Feat has, by far, been my favorite concert (early ’76). Stood 10 floor rows back. Early on I got so 'energized' I managed to coax about 400 people behind me to get up off the floor and join the party. A newspaper article the next day stated how awesome LF was and how they out-performed the headliner, ELO. We left after their first song. As ELO sings “Don’t Bring Me Down”! Well they did! Sorry ELO fans. Just not a match. Outpunched. Grateful Feat fan.
aman
LMAO, that's why we liked 'em! That was their claim to fame!!!
@@keithh624, Grateful Feat fan? You trippy hippie, HAHAHA!!! We went to see Little Feat in Madison, Wisconsin tripping our brains out! "Madison, that bastion of socialism" ... according to Fox News, HAHAHA!!!
I had never heard of Little Feat they opened for the Allman Brothers outdoor concert in Santa Barbara ,CA 1975. and they kept me on my-feet their. Whole set.The album “Waiting on Columbus “ easily in my top 5 most listened to Albums.
Ain't a " hall of fame" big enough or important enough for dem Feat. Stay free, boys. Fans present and future know the truth!
@tedmoery6091 I couldn,t agree more. To me they're special because they are way too hip for that stupid hall of Fame. The Feat go right over the heads of those people.
God I miss these guys! Lowell George and Little Feat should be in Rock n Roll Hall of Fame!
+tjbenedi They are but the Hall may not know it. They're in the real Hall of Fame. The People's heart and soul.
+ainthurtinnobody Nothing more needs to be said!! You just stated it!
+tjbenedi And there's a facebook page just for that discussion.
You can't beat Feat.
+tjbenedi Yes...LET'S GET THEM IN...THIS YEAR...
I'm 30. my dad has a musician's heart -he passed that on to his sons. got to see the Stones, Neil Young, Allman Brothers, Eagles among others, together. BUT, he always said "you'll never see a band like Little Feat when Lowell was kickin' "
peace.
Can we get some love for the drummer? He's one of my favorites. I'm in thrall of his funky grooves!
Jimmy Page had his eye on Ritchie Hayward.
Iowa boy, doncha know.
The late Ritchie Haywood. RIP
@@jeffblack5024 Ritchie played in Robert Plant's touring band, '83 to '85.
I would really love to hear his isolated vocals as well. LEGIT vocal harmonies. Do you hear that high harmony vocal sitting on top of everything? That's him. Everyone in this group brings multiple dimensions of professionalism. I would give anything to play in a band of this caliber.
RIP Paul Barrere. My son has been Feat's guitar technician for about 9 years. A huge loss to all of us. 💔
@Mo Meek I think he was a good with Lowell and We love it !
Paul Barrere, all time great. 💯
God Bless your Son and the talent he Earned
I certainly hope His good fortune will extend far into the future
I briefly met him once , after an Atlanta show ( 2009 , maybe??) Really easy goin , nice guy - I tried to see if LF may be interested in playing a festival in our home town , on the waterfront- we had had Blues Traveler the year or so before- he said , sure - only problem was the county wasn’t willing to pay any premiums for entertainment that coming year . It would’ve been a heck of a show if The Feats could’ve played!!
Rest In Peace , PB.
I was listening to this in high school in the eighties while everyone else was listening to the eighties trash music.
This blew me away. Real talent on display here.
One of the tightest bands ever.
Same here in Munich, Germany. I was ridiculed by my peers for listening to the Waiting for Columbus album every day all day, but what else could I do?
R.I.P. Lowell, Richie and Paul. You're all SO missed.
Couldn't said it any better
Still get goosebumps listening to this! One of the greatest bands of all time!
Agreed. Certainly the greatest live band I ever saw. I was there that night. Unforgettable. I still miss Lowell.
no doubt
Erwin Schonfeld amen 🙏
Is that why they wouldn't even make the top 100 of bands?
All that and no auto tune in a 50 mile radius!!! The best band ever!!! Rock and Roll Hall of Fame BIG TIME ! Do it yesterday!!!
R&RHOF is unworthy.
@@mikemadden2729 Eff 'em
The internet sucks. How can 25 people give this a thumbs down? This performance is a monster.
26 at this count.
Shows like this? Internet is a fine place. Don't let a few idiots ruin it for you.
so thankfull for your point
probably justin bieber fans :-)
mitch reno-Pea brained assholes do.
1) Trolls. 2) Idiots from the music industry who are pissed Lowell George died before they could siphon as much money as possible out of him. :-/

Cerph
Cerphe! You spelled your own name wrong! LOL
thanks...that setlist in the description is _useless_ w/o the times
Yeah. I thought it was Cerphe? Oh well, it’s his name isn’t it. LOL
Thank you
This is shame: Little Feat is not in the Rock and Roll of Fame!!! That is insane!
Went through the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Can recommend it... but... whew, there are are some big omissions.
R&RHOF is unworthy.
Little Feat is in my Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (.)
True...but they are one of many amazing groups that have been forgotten including....
GFR ( Grand Funk Railroad )
Steppenwolf
For me there is no Rock-n-Roll HOF until GFR & Steppenwolf get in !
Come-on man... they are the definition of ROCK AND ROLL ✌😎
Banana Rama is in the RR HOF? It's a joke
Little Feat, the band that the other best bands of the time heard, and said, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We wish we could do that! !!!!!!!
A Ritchie Hayward shuffle try being a drummer and play that freakin thing guy was a monster how do you get better than these guys. Legendary!
I'm a very old keyboard player, 55 years playing in every kind of semi-pro band. I've played with terrible drummers, competent drummers and one or two very good ones. But Ritchie Hayward was simply magnificent. On a different level. And Little Feat the best band I ever saw. I was in the audience on this video. Unforgettable.
Wonderful. So far behind the beat and perfect for this band. Not many drummers could do what he did and stand out. Always trying new things and throwing new beats into the mix. I love just watching him. His suffering as he endured his fatal illness was a tragic example of the disasterous U.S. medical system. He looked a great, happy, wild guy
I was born in 1968, so I'll be 50 soon. I was 9 years old in 1977. I'm not stoked to be middle-aged, but I almost wish I could trade 10 years of my life to be born in 1958 so I could've have been old enough to see shows like this. The 70s were truly the apex of rock's potential. Great post - thank you.
Just one of the all-time greatest bands.
They were just amazing
Really, is that why you could offer 100 people a thousand dollars, and maybe one could name them as the band who played "Dixie Chicken" ?
Spanish Moon !!!! I have been listening to that song for some 38 years now and I still love it !!
wlines Warren Haynes played and sang Spanish Moon at the Feat concert in Asheville while back
Great band, dem boys !! In drumming circles, I don't believe Ritchie Hayward ever got enough recognition. Unique player, playing unexpected stuff nightly & staying perfectly in-time while doing it. Great stuff.
😄 Lowell often got crazy with him playing different things on songs every night! Ritchie went with the feeling!
Tower of Power is killing it.
What a great recording. I love Little Feat
Little Feat put out tons of kick ass studio albums, but these guys always did it even better live! That's true greatness!
This is nothing short of sensational live music, can't believe how good these guys are.
Epic performance. George was amazing. Awesome band.
I saw them in 1979 at Shippensburg college. I seem to remember about 60 people on stage. They had like 30 horn players. Best show I've ever seen in the last 35 years. RIP Lowell. You were one of a kind.
Love me my FEATS for over forty years now. Thanks for the post!
Man did I love this band!, they played at Shaes in Buffalo, the balcony was shaking, after the 'last' encore, they turned on the lihght and played the music, broke down half the set, nobody left, screaming more, you could see people peeking through the curtains...after about 10 min, they had to come back on and play a slow one LOL.....what a concert...not one person left!
Once in a lifetime...Ain't nothing ever again, like this volcano exploding...And, honestly, I don't believe there ever will be...I saw the band - 1978 in Chicago...So there...Watching this, listening, it brought fucking tears to my eyes...Not for the passing of time - my time, from those days, but entirely different sad boogie - never again - I am certain, will music be this final (God given)
I was at that show in Chicago. Great times.
And many fond memories of seeing them perform live! I was proud to be a Feat Freak!
Along with Lynyrd Skynyrd at Knebworth this is the best band that ever played on British soil.
Awesome Little Feat ~ New Year's Eve in Houston Texas for several years in a row in the mid 70's ~ Went to see them Always!! What a Way to Ring in the New Year!! What a Voice ~ Rock & Roll at it's Finest!!
I was there! Thanks for bringing back a fantastic memory....
Dear God! The band is ON FIRE!! Thank you so much!
One of the tastiest slide players ever.
Seems Lowell left some of his genes to Fred Tackett & Bonnie Raitt. They have that Lowell sound (kinda). No one else I know of seems to. Bonnie is a female Lowell, LMAO!!! 11-09 or 11-08 was Bonnie's 70th birthday & the college or community station played a lot of her stuff. Sounded great! I always liked her attitude with that Strat & that patch of gray hair! Very cool! I wish some of the newer female artists would learn a lesson & get down when they play & sing. And get real bands & dump the synthesized backup & thump-thump fake drums!
Tower of Power horns, with Mic Gillette. One of the greats.
Agreed about rower of power horns
Sho Nuff,
If your gonna have horns...TOP horns from this era were the ONES.
They put me over the top every damn time.
Let's not forget Lenny Pickett!
Saw the Feat in 1976 supporting The Who, they were the most unbelievable band, so versatile, Richie just blew my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!! unfortunately Lowell passed but I still got to see the Feat so many times all those years later. To stand next to Dave Gilmour in the Town and Country Club, Camden, North London and see them blow everyone away was something else!!! RIP Richie and Lowell.
Awesome cool!
I saw them at Parkhead on the same tour - AWESOME!
Shoot, I was at the Camden show too, watching Richie all the while, not at all surprised Gilmour was there!
Oh and BTW I was at the Aug 2 and 4 shows 1977 at the Rainbow... Still got the tickets, luckily, the ol' memory ain't what it used to be...!
ABSOLUTELY GREAT ! Wonderful concert, Brilliant Band ! Thx for posting !
Been a fan of this band from the Quartet days, so sad to hear of Paul Barrere's death this week. Paul was such a kind person, I managed to catch him at a stage exit and he was kind enough to sign a concert poster I had brought with me. I asked him where the rest of the guys were, he took me backstage and to a rear exit out to their tour bus !!!! Holy crap, he had everyone sign for me, I was floored, how many rock stars are going to do that ??? Anyway, I will never forget Paul and the boys, I am filled with grief tonight so I'm gettin out the records !!!! ( that's right, I said RECORDS!! )
They be doin it. Nobody did it better. So many good cuts I lost count. Very bands are as good or better live than on recording. Little Feat was one heck of a band. They be doin it .
What an awesome show. They had the magic that night.......so tight and deeeeeep pockets. Anyone who doesn't understand what all the fuss was about when people talk about Little Feat need to watch this show......+ Mick Taylor and the Tower of Power horn section. It doesn't get any better than this. Thanks for posting this.
They need to listen tripping on acid. Then they'd understand.
Lowell is a very under rated cowbell player
Andy Nelson Agreed!!
+Dave Updegrave More cowbell!
we need more cowbell
Brilliant, Andy, cheers.
Andy Nelson more cowbell!
Additional comment: the percussion is so amazing. Entire band beyond tight. All I want in this life of mine is some damn good clean fun.
Thanks for sharing this. I'm a lifetime Feats fan, seen them 13 times including their 50 Anv. Your this year. This is a kick-ass show, great video!
"Waiting for Columbus" was the first album I bought after coming out of the Marines, I played it so much I have it memorized.
I always loved Little Feat. Such a shame they are not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Saw them once with Lowell in '78. It was the best concert I'd ever seen.
Wow!
I'd never heard 'Teenage Nervous Breakdown' by 'The Feats' until this very day... I have been deprived!
Lowell's guitar and singing was other-worldly. Good grief. And, Bill Payne is a keyboard god.
Absolutely. You appreciate Talent!
Look up Just One Look, Live From Hollywood 1980, by Linda. It opens w the camera on Billy’s fingers banging out the opening chords. Everyone wanted him in their band. This was a great band Linda had assembled too, in ‘80. Danny Kootch, Bob Glaub, Kenny, Kunkel, Waldman. The cd is great. I highly recommend grabbing one.
One of the best bands ever!still love hearing their sound.
a Fabulous band/group uncontested in what they did which was simply make great music. These guys should without doubt be in the RnR HOF. Nobody like them ever before or since. Soul, Funk, Blues, Rock n Roll. Coolness personified. Love the Feat to death.......
I saw this show at Honolulu University Amphitheater June of 1978 and this to this day one of the greatest concerts I've ever witnessed. I was visiting my dad for a few months after graduating from HS and decided to go by myself and as I sat down next to people I didn't even we all had the best time, singing, dancing and oh boy did we party!!! it was one of the best times of my life. You know if you ever want to go back to a moment in time, this is one of those times. If anyone has a video of one or two moments please post. Little Feat was the best.
Absolutely AWESOME.....the best hands down....RIP lowell
Damn I need a Rock and Roll Doctor cause I can't stop grooving to this. It is impossible to sit still with this infectious blues!!
Man they were one of the best, and especially live.
Gimme Weed, Whites, and Wine.....I'm always Willin' R.I.P. Dear Brother Lowell. There will never be another that could even shine your Boots!
"What the hell is that shit?"
Frank Zappa asked while giving Lowell George a disgusted look when he overheard him working out the chords for Willin in a dressing room when George was still with Zappa.
I saw the Feat at San Diego State University Amphitheater in '78. I was completely blown away by the band and a haze of Mexican smoke over the whole place. Unforgettable experience. Thanks, Feat. Thanks, Tower of Power horns.
Truly one of the greatest bands ever...
Thanks Lowell for the slide solo...this Man cannot be replaced...often Imitated..But Never duplicated
i grew up with this band even an album on vinyl. PARTY, PARTY, PARTY!!!!!!!!
Good to see all the members of the band creating their sound.
Mick Taylor on Apolitical Blues is real special!!!
Great musicians here : they avoid the impossible perfection with pure emotion. I take a bow.
R.I.P. RICHIE AND LOWEL
Amazing performance & a great audience !
Bloody 'ell I'm here again!!
Man, these guys were good. The great Bill Payne.
One of the greatest bands ever, amazing concert footage, thanks.
In the 70's and 80's to, nobody was sitting in these shows. Entire concert everyone's rock'in...😊
Doesn’t get better than this
Sensational, moving. To this day (62) the best rnr band ever. Greeting from Italy, where they once performed in Chiari (already post dear Lowell genius George departure. Grandi. Naturalmente ho anche il CD.
among the best live bands ever...Sly (when they were on) and James Brown my top 3
I was at this show , never knew it was videotaped ! Amazing !
What a band and what a show, just before my time but grew up way aulder mates that talked about and listened to such greatness but better late than never,so many thanks for this quality upload.
I saw them in '77 or '78 at Sienna College near Albany, NY. Front row. The best concert I've ever see. I was a huge fan before the concert and they did not disappoint. They even surpassed my high expectations. I do miss Lowell.I have seen them perform a couple times since his passing and while they are always very good, it was just not the same magic. Every time I hear this music it brings me back and I am so thankful for having had the chance to experience them at their best.
+Chip Carney I saw them in OKC, '77. Best band I ever saw. This lineup was the band, period.
Nothing I can add to any of yhis. I tip my hat and my glass to this band. And Lowell George. He just has IT.
Dude I was there with you - 9/27/78 at Siena in Albany. Great show. And we can always say we saw Lowell...
Saw them with Lowell in Madison, Wisconsin. Can always say "I saw them with Lowell tripping my brains out on acid"! Can say the same for Dixie Dregs & the Hellecasters.
In 1977 I was 20 and I was living in London. How could I miss this concert? At the time I was looking in other directions (should be spanked!). What a great concert this was! The best Little Feat line-up with special guest Mick Taylor (former Rolling Stones) and the best Tower of Power horns ever (Emilio Castillo, Doc Kupka, Greg Adams, Lenny Pickett & Mic Gillette). This is a historical event! Greetings from Portugal.
Glad to say I was there! Best band ever!
Absolutely amazing!
friggin amazing why are these guys not in the rock n roll hall a fame
R&RHOF is unworthy.
Heard a band in fells point Baltimore play oh Atlanta who put that on vinyl. And I listened to the album then I was hooked. My girlfriend (now wife) went with me to see them in concert then she was hooked. Seen them live at least 10 times and never disappeared. They played at a concert hall/club Bohager's and somehow met Paul Barrere and Richie Hayward and talked to them for 45 minutes or more. What a thrill. They deserve to be in the rock and roll HOF.
I was there...we walked in and in the lobby I heard Lowell working out on slide and I thought 'That's a cool harp sound he's got.' I was playin harps since I was 8.........fooled me..
I actually went to sleep twice during the Doobies, they were so boring.
Jesus, Lowell, We MISS YOU....one of the Spirits of Rock and Roll.
Ritchie Haward, by far one of the greatest drummers to walk this earth. His natural ability to groove is unmatched.
Lowell was the Rock N Roll Doctor...RIP.
"2 degrees in Bee Bop, a PhD in Swing, he's a master of rhythm, he's a rock n roll king." yep...that's him.
Grendel53 i had NO idea what that lyric was....ive been listening to it for 40 years...i thought it said 'dirty greasy be bop'....lol...
but 2 DEGREES elevates it to a whole new level...I KNOW guys in rock and roll like THAT-
TheEDZEPPELINBAND Bahahaha! Glad to set you straight, ED. But "dirty, greasy Bee Bop" is a pretty badass line itself.
Grendel53 I ALWAYS knew Lowell was a genius lyricist...the line about 'Mysterious Wisterias' in 'twenty Million things to do' has always just knocked me out..
and twenty million other words he wrote.
Grendel53 HE HAS A BLACK BELT IN KARAOKE
HI-YAH!
I used to know Lowell's son, Forest, back in the early 90's. We had mutual friends in S.F. and would go to Dead shows together. He said his mother had a ton of live material that she wasn't going to release or make public. I wish to God she would reconsider
+Dominic Tringale
Probably because Lowell's live work was known to be very uneven.
Hello, Forrest George here.
^ If this really is you, your dad's music meant a lot to me growing up. And it still holds up.
It really is. Thanks.
The story goes they preferred the live recordings to the studio ones and recorded a lot of their own gigs. There are bootlegs reputedly put out by the band, one being Electrif Lycanthrope, which is rated as one of the best bootlegs ever in the history of everything.
Only those who have done this can understand how much fun it is
Can't deal with the greatness! Effing Tower of Power! Such incredible music. Great footage. This band IS IN OUR ROCK N ROLL MEDICINE. I NEED IT and I WANT IT and I LOVVE it!
Amazing! I had the greatest good fortune to see Feat live 5 times, this gig being the last one. Unbelievably, I remember it being the worst I saw them! Says something about how great they were live, I suppose. The albums never got close. Thanks so much for posting.
Melts the heart, like I’m in 5th grade again. Peace out LG.
Little Feat just as they were in' 77' the best years...Thanks !
I was there. I'd never heard of them. A friend invited me... they had the Tower of Power horn section with them... I was taken that first night. Loved them.
They don't make 'em like The Feats no more.
OMG : at 44:15 the gorgeous MICK TAYLOR joins Lowell on stage. What a treasure to hear and see this. This band rocks !!!!
Fabulous!
One of the all time great concerts. Magic in the air that night. Everything came together! Lowell George was awesome and everyone in the band. But what a great frontman George was.
Definitely a great great band!! One of a kind!!!
This was not just another Little Feat concert. It all sounds so alive and inspired. I saw them a few laters in Rotterdam, but I don't remember them beings this stunning.
The first time I saw Little Feat was on the Waiting on Columbus tour in Dec. 1978 in Norman, OK. I have loved them for over 35 years.
There was a blizzard that day, but they played anyway. Best show I ever saw for 35 years, that is until I went to see The Mavericks
Brings back memories and lots of smiles from when I saw them in Kansas City in 1978. Still the best concert I ever attended from one of the tightest bands ever! Fabulous syncopation.
5 star tripe. Extra brilliant performance uniquely live and new to me. Right on, thanx.
Just one of the greatest acts of all time
The greatest American Rock and Roll band!
Simply the best.
