Ain't that the truth! Was watching The Faces at The Marquee Club and saw this in my feed. Felt like I stuck gold with what's basically a video of the "Waiting For Columbus" concert, and naturally LF didn't disappoint!! Plus the fact is was a Rockpalast production which are always spot on. LF is only real with Lowell, IMO (naturally no disrespect to Paul B., Bill P., Richard H.,etc). My Thanksgiving Day treat today!

Glad I saw them so many times along with Tower of Power back in the 70s..Loweell was such a soulful guy..Billy could take you to church with his keys ..what a band. Brings back so many good memories.Great songs! Paul and Lowell were just funky together.

Proof that the R&RHOF is full if it is that these straight savages weren't inducted 30 years ago. Outstanding, and like the best of the best, with no weak links in their music chain. Killing it here.

R&R HOF treats the musicians like shit- according to the musicians interviewed. And yes, it is a pile of elitist bureaucrats who don't know crap about music. I will say, however, that the induction of Leon Russell by Elton John is wonderful! Check it out. But, the HOF had nothing to do with it themselves.

I miss that man to this day. He grooved like nobody else. He told me in a conversation we had in Jamaica 1995 that he wished he had played less on all these classic tracks in his younger days as he was being pushed hard to replicate his own stuff that much later night after night. He always did but I got his point for sure.

I don't know who turned me onto Little Feat in the late 70's and so glad they did. I could hear all of their catalog a million times and smile. So funky - those pinch harmonics on Dixie Chicken - such a unique groove. I hear some second line in there (Bill Payne) and they always reminded me of good times on Bourbon Street.

Little Feat were not quite my style at the time, but all these years later, I appreciate them more than ever. So much talent on that stage. What an incredible show.
When these shows originally aired, you were lucky to see them one time. Now, 50 years later, there are so many of these concerts available on UA-cam. Some that I never saw and some that I had seen and never thought I would see again. So many heroes that are long gone, yet here they are, just as we remember them.

Some lunatic climbed one of the floodlight towers during their set ,closely followed by security guys, guy is hanging by his arms 100 feet in the air, Little Feat just keep going, I was close enough to see that they were watching the proceeding's too, they got the guy down. Much stronger sound when Tower of Power backed them on Waiting for Columbus. Still great though, and Bill Payne is a master maestro on the keys.

God! I miss the 70s! America before Ronald Reagan ruined it was such a beautiful place. Evidently Germany too.

Great concert. The mike levels sound a bit low on this. Not sure if that was done in final mixing? BTW, you have June instead of July in the description.

Geiles Konzert damals. Danke. Was ich bemängeln muss, leider, ist die sehr bescheidene Soundqualität. Habe das schon besser gehört. Wers nicht glaubt : Setzt mal Kopfhörer auf :-((((

Maybe this is normal, but does Lowell disappear during the almost 10-minute long Day at the Dog Races jam?

He didn’t like the song so he did exit stage right for it. It was common for that tour.

Back in the last century, I read somewhere that when asked about “Day At The Dog Races” Lowell said that it was “the very antithesis of what the band was all about”. Seems like Bill, Paul and the rest of the boys were going through their kind of “Weather Report” stage. I like DATDR as it shows what a fine bunch of musicians Little Feat were/are and always will be.

So that's where the "various kinds of bottleneck guitar...sears and roebuck craftsman 11/16 socket wrench" comment came from. Hilarious.

@martyconroy3786. You may already know this. Back in the last century Joe Walsh used to like the Coricidan bottle for his slide guitar playing. The shape, weight of the glass and size were just right for Joe. Apparently, Joe heard that the manufacturer was going to change the packaging of their product (maybe to plastic?) So Joe went out, bought as many bottles of Coricidan pills that he could find, dumped the contents and kept the bottles.
Like Lowell says in his explanation of the bottleneck technique, you need a very specific kind of bottle for (glass) slide playing. Lowell’s choice - the Sears & Roebuck Craftsman 11/16 socket wrench (probably “extended” to remove spark plugs maybe?) you can/could buy in any city in North America. So could it easily be replaced if lost or damaged. I did read somewhere that Lowell used to “pad out” the inside of the socket with gaffer tape (sticky side out) so that it would fit his pinkie! And the late Paul Barrere - who played Lowell’s guitar parts in the post LG incarnations of the band, said that he had built up extra muscle power in his left hand pinkie “hoisting that slide every night!” Stay safe and well.

@@markmiwurdz2248 Everyone has a favorite, glass, metal, Duane Allman used a Coricidan bottle, too. It's more about what feels right for you. I use both. They have different tones...
