Stealing from Tourists is not taken lightly in remote Lao. Whoever did it got caught and reprimanded.
If someone stole my phone, I would want them to return my sd card. I find that more valuable than the phone. You're on such an interesting adventure. Good luck. Cheers

Losing a phone is the worst, although when mine jumped unknown out of my bike holder when I got home half an hour later using my iPad and timeline found where it was, got the missus to call my number and a female answered saying she found it lying in the road, big big relief. This is in NE Thailand, she only wanted me to visit her massage shop, refused to take any money, although I insisted and she eventually gave in.
