I may do a proper longer video about this especially when going from Long Form to Short Form as sometimes you have top adjust the X and Y position of clips.

What you are saying is no recommending to use the ai convert to shorts feature as it is not accurate enough to trim the bit you would like it to be. Instead just trim it yourself into a few parts? But then you still have to redesign the content to sum up the details of a long video right? So you are still doing all the work to recreate it to a shorter version, why are you saying it like a trick? I don't get it ....
Let me clarify.
You’re going to edit the long form anyway rather than use the AI as that can trim more than it should or get it wrong. Try it and you’ll see what I mean.
As you edit you can then add in text placement so that when it’s all done you can see the short form lengths.
Then when you export - you’ll have the long form and short form exactly as you want.
No need to use if you disagree :)
I’ve used plenty of tools and they all suffer from inaccuracy or producing low quality outputs. Try opus.clips and look at the quality and time you spend editing.
Better to edit manually and get it as you want.

I definitely feel your frustration. I've gone through the same exact thing A. I doesn't always do it right if you take the time and do it yourself. It will come out perfect but also capcutt. Now has a way where you can only take pieces that you want and export those pieces without having to delete. Like you're annoying, which takes a little bit more time. But once you export it, then you can highlight it back and the whole thing comes back so it's just much better in the new feature that they have.But I get the concept.Great video.Thanks.Got a new subscriber

Totally right because you get to control what's worthy of a short, because AI does make mistakes. And you get to keep the 4K quality too.
@@websquadron how do you cut it and then everything falls align again? when i cut a section the video goes to the beginning but the caption and title stay in place and i have to adjust them to the video again its annoying
@@zyccoworrell Make sure that you have the magnet settings applied. So above the timeline, on the right side, turn on Auto Snapping and turn on Linkage.

So quick to do as you edit the long form rather than use a 3rd party tool that drops the quality. It irritates me how Opus and others reduce to 720p.
Great work flow, but it would be very helpful to just have a detailed walkthrough of specific steps of converting long to short. I got 9:16. I positioned my stuff. it looks good, but it seems like my dimensions are off. YT is considering my short to be a long form, even though its 50 seconds.
Can you add a link to a YT video that was considered to be Long Form?
@@websquadron I did a little more study - and research, and discovered that UA-cam has a glitch. It occasionally will mis-identify a perfectly good short IF uploaded off the computer desktop. Same video can be uploaded through the "create a short" function on YT app on the phone, and uploads properly as a short. Known glitch, documented on Redddit, Quora etc.
But I would still LOVE a more detailed, step by step lesson on the adjustments I can make inside Capcut when re-purposing 16:9 into 9:16 shorts! I am sure it will bring you views - there is a shortage of good Capcut lessons!
How do you get it back to the normal long project?
I just undo with CMD+Z :)
Or have a duplicated copy :)
How do you actually delete the projects out of your folders. I don't see an actual delete button once you've gone from long to short. How do you delete the short videos?

Can you do text to AI generated voice as well in this process?
Yes and it's so easy. Add text, then click Text-to-Speech - and there are so many voice options!
It took me hours to do this :( deleted the 3parts and kept the first. Now I have to start over ) I can not bring back the whole 4 part anymore. Also It says I can't download it as I do not have enough space!! Whats going on? I feel upset going through the whole editing as a completely beginner and now I have to start over but I worry to do so as Cup Cut doesn't allow me to download it. Do I need the paid verson for this? This was the first time I tried on my computer! I never had issues on my phone before :(
You don't need the paid part. CapCut is limited in keeping things. But I would advise that you Duplicate the Full first. Then you still have that intact when you do the shorts.
Also set a process in place to Delete - Export - Undo - then go again.
