I love every video of yours so far! I've been a traditional window cleaner for close to 30 yrs now and it's time to take the plunge. You've helped me make the decision on waterfed
I found oxidation happens only on the sun baked sides. The north side isn't really effected. A boars hair brush really helps remove or lesson the white streaking. But you're spot on with making it easier the next and future times you get to clean the glass. Explain that to the customer and they will also see the big difference. I love my WFP. Nobody seems to have ever heard of it in my area but are totally surprised with the results.
After building my first service business I learned that if you have the means to invest in the best equipment at the beginning then you should. This avoids the transition effect that clients do not like. I also clean the inside of a house first with NEW clients to establish professionalism and explain my company and systems while working. If I just showed up and wfp the outside clients would think I'm damaging the windows and don't know what I am doing. Sometimes it's all about perception
I’ve been incorporating a WFP in with my traditional window cleaning for the past 7 years, and I’ve noticed a big problem with my forearms and wrist, especially lately, I’ve read more people having issues also, I think there can be a lot of long term health affects from using a WFP everyday, if you’re new to using one, just use it when you need to use it, don’t use it at every job, every day, you will regret it because it will have a negative impact on your body. Has anyone else experienced this ? I’ve read a few forums of other long term WFP users talking about the negative impact it’s had in their bodies so just use it when you need to.
pulling a high up window is tough as shit though if its not that perfect window where the waters not gunna dry by the time you get a squeegee up there. or if you have the combo mop squegee tool. i enjoy water fed polling the way to go especially if its something thats too big of a window to ladder way high up. ect
Not sure. I work as a window washer at a university and theyre supplier is bringing one to demo for me tomorrow. Hope it's awesome. I have an 80ft lift im on a lot doing windowns. So itll be awesome if i could bring this on the lift and reach even more.
I have to agree. I have had wfp for a few years now, and some windows are just easier to go trad. High up in the seals there is a crack or something that will run very nasty once it gets done with wfp. The problem is that you need to know which ones... Also, I came across these last year painted windows, oil based paint, and hog brush started to dissolve some of that paint. I have kept washing them with wfp, but soft brush, not touching the frames, but extra rinse everything, frames too. Very often you can see older windows leaking, pencil jets have that effect sometimes, they squirt water between the glasses. I youre going inside to do them next, no problem, but sometimes you only wash outside, or they are damaged thermal glasses, which you cant open. So yeah, there are risks. That said, for me at least, definitely worth having.
Oxidation remover - ox Knox in a hand pump spray from Home Depot 56 oz. They can shoot up pretty high 2stories and only about $10. Then rinse off. Eliminates oxidation. Then finish the glass.
Over hear in the UK everyone has gone wfp thinking that it makes them all good window cleaners from watching youtube I've realised that Americans like yourself have got the traditional skills 🖒
This is absolutely true, we actually just lost a big account because we used waterfed pole on a corp office with 2 huge buildings 1000+ windows. We were given 1 day each building and I was the only one willing to destroy my back using the water fed constantly. After a few hour fatigue kicks in and then you unconsciously start rushing. It looks good at first but after an hour you start to see drips and spots.
I've been there done that I've made that mistake a few times and new construction I tried water feed big mistake you have to scrape off glue stickers it's totally different than doing a regular window clean
my friend last thursday.. brought one because we had a 3rd story window to do.. a few of them. when we got there he couldnt find the spicket and im out on the deck doing what i could reach with just a pole ect. i turned to my left and hes on the top rung of the 30 foot ladder.. lol. and the apartment was on the edge of a valley if he woulda fell in any direction he woulda went 30 feet to the ground from the ladder... and then off a cliff down a valley another... 100 feet? lol. my heart stopped and i was like afraid to move from where i was standing.. on a deck with safety walls. haha
I have run into this very problem myself. However, I also have unger indoor cleaning pad. It’s very easy to stick my pad on the pole and wipe off any spots or runs
Well done Steve O 👍 it’s funny how a lot of Window Cleaners out there don’t mention on what you have just spoken about...the oxidisation on frames and getting runs. Good on you for speaking the truth. There is a misconception that you always guaranteed to get 100% results in fast time. Maybe some of the time like you said. Other times you’re wasting time to get that 100% result. I know I’m repeating everything you just said, I’m just double stating the facts and happy you mentioned this! 💪👏👌😁
I would like to highlight that Water fed pole is a tool not a substitute to trad In construction clean if i bring water fed pole along and go over everything with tds 000 The scraping is soooooo much easier But for the lowdown If u use 0tds to just soak a house it allows you to work large scale go over all the windows scrub them down And trad them later without having to worry about limescale stains When u do this with a hose it destroyes the windows😢 and u end up having lots of spots evrywhere on a sunny day On huge long store fronts u can speed clean 50 meter long shop fronts in just 1 hour!!!! with one guy on a water fed pole and another trading right behind him Its like tag team wwf no ladders bitch 300 bucks for an hours work once a week hell yeah I even use it on places which need limescale removal Its one of the most amazing tools ive ever used. But i almost always trad after wfp Because when u do monthlys or once a year jobs U gotta have some serious pressure to work easier
Good stuff! Right on the money! There are houses and large commercials that I'm excited to get back to, because even though the 1st clean was tough, everything has been conditioned for the next clean. 👌
I effed up bought a 5k tucker system only doing residential I'm a power/ soft washing guy never thought of doing traditional on the outside of windows cause I'm a moron however in just this year I will pay off the machine but bad business decision
Your dead right Steve o I find every window is different for wfp you need to know your work inside and out to make it work well and that takes time in your work to Taylor it right thanks for the video tho had a similar experience today and it was comforting to hear what I was thinking with it 😊
I thought about setting up a water fed system to do windows that are next impossible to do any other way(including rope access), but the price is inhibitive on a turnkey system. I might build my own at some point, but I'm not going to shell out $4500 for something I use once in a blue moon. As you said, there are windows that just don't turn out right with a water fed pole, so you have to climb up a latter or get on rope to scrub, scrape and squeegee, then there's the problem with dirty sills and dirty water running down the wall or a run after you've left the job. It sucks having do something twice when once is faster and easier.
Joe DeJulio no, Fort Collins/Loveland, the quality on WFP work there was horrible. Spots and runs everywhere, they just didn’t have anybody who knew how to properly use it and at the time I didn’t know better
Absolutely new at cleaning windows and it’s rough, maybe I need to start from your early videos. man so many streaks so many lines runoff from the side of the squeegee and hats off to you, you’re a role model when it comes to this stuff
Most guys using water feed poles are to conservative on their pure water, poor flow rates equals poor results, also it's like they have something to prove over traditional squeegee work, your not always going to be faster on first cleans, only on regular work, I use on first clean connect up the tap hose and wash the frames with the water feed pole doing this method first saves a lot of headache on dirt in the seals, and running out, once the whole building is done then I use the pure water feed pole, , I also use detergent to pre wash then garden hose then pure water.. the 3 clean method....
Here where i live a lot of idiots start their business with wfp and nice systems, they cant keep it up because they started wrong and keep selling their equipment and i got all for 3 times less.
Mario's Window Cleaning yea you can’t start with WFP, gotta learn traditional then as you get bigger and bigger jobs then start to consider the system and learn it before using it in the field. Too many newbies think it’s the answer to everything
That place looks big and lonely with a lot of new houses, i hope you guys dont get infected with bunch of Californians leaving because they voted democrat and now they cant afford their own hell

Yes, I just did this and got 8 Waterfed pole jobs lined up already and I haven’t even gotten the equipment yet
What would you suggest ?
Looking at the XERO Pure MAX Package right now
Thanks for your honest opinion and for posting this video. I was wondering about the risk of WFP and you gave me a better understanding.
Nelson Stack most definitely, WFP makes my life so much easier
What about rinsing the window frame with a low pressure hose or pressure washer, then cleaning it with the pure water?
I’ve been doing this a lot recently
Doing a demo with a viper water fed pole tomorrow.
See how it goes.
Thanks for the tips
I dont see it
Nice, does viper WFP have a website?
Not sure. I work as a window washer at a university and theyre supplier is bringing one to demo for me tomorrow.

I appreciate the series, just bought a phaser system from abc window supply in town, so far really happy with it and half the cost of a cart system.

Ever thought you where the only one making it wrong in general. Should have a crew but no body wants to work let alone do a good job.
Do you ever wfp in the rain or just re schedule with the customer?
What is the oxidation? I saw this white milky substance coming off the frames the other day
I've been there done that I've made that mistake a few times and new construction I tried water feed big mistake you have to scrape off glue stickers it's totally different than doing a regular window clean

Great video Steve, I must be a nerd too, coz I'm going to see it too this week, Enjoy.
What brand of RO filter is best for your current system?
I would like to highlight that
Water fed pole is a tool not a substitute to trad
In construction clean if i bring water fed pole along and go over everything with tds 000
The scraping is soooooo much easier
But for the lowdown
If u use 0tds to just soak a house it allows you to work large scale go over all the windows scrub them down
And trad them later without having to worry about limescale stains
When u do this with a hose it destroyes the windows😢 and u end up having lots of spots evrywhere on a sunny day
On huge long store fronts u can speed clean 50 meter long shop fronts in just 1 hour!!!! with one guy on a water fed pole and another trading right behind him
Its like tag team wwf no ladders bitch 300 bucks for an hours work once a week hell yeah
I even use it on places which need limescale removal
Its one of the most amazing tools ive ever used.

Do traditional and build up before going water fed! Thanks for that nugget!!!! 🫡🫡🫡🫡

Hey Steve, how do u prepare your applicator sleeves for overnight, as far as removing debris and stuff
AJP75 you could soak them in water if you would like, I ring it out a lot during the day though which keeps any big debris out of it
I put mine in the washer... idk if that's right but that's how I do it.
Using the red rubber again?
Excellent. Thank you!
Great video Steve o
Yooo!! Steve-ooo!!! What pole you'd recommend for lightness and reggiti
