Always the guy with intelligent advice. I agree the shorter brush is faster than a heavier longer more cumbersome brush. I’m old school so I used boars hair brushes when I started out. When T bars came out they were lighter making them faster and less fatiguing to use than a superior board hair brush. So I switched to a T bar. But I still use a boards hair brush on first time cleans for store fronts. I think the boars hair WFP brush will out clean a nylonbristle brush every time but it’s more fatiguing to use. More friction on the glass and it’s hold more water making it heavier. Most people can’t tell that T bar doesn’t get the glass as clean as a boars hair brush on my storefront route. But it’s less fatiguing to use. So I roll with a T bar. Same principle is true with WFP brushes. Nylon vs BoarsHair Easy vs Fatiguing Good Enough vs. Best Clean Call me lazy that’s OK 😎
Thanks for solidifying the options of brushes! The boar hair is an absolute beast! I’ve had several window jobs with algae on the windows and with the boar hair, the algae just came right off, no need to scrub aggressively. All my windows come out awesome!
i guess im randomly asking but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me
Great video Steve. I agree that the boar hair has the best scrubbing power. the only downside I find with it is its not suitable to use with hot water. I don't know if any of you guys use hot but here in the UK I heat my water from middle of October to March so have to use stiff nylon brushes. 👍
Have you done a video yet about jets? Do I use two or four and when? When do you use fans? When would I use over the brush and when not to? Love your videos😷
I glue foam padding to my wagtail waterpad. I realized rubber cleans better than microfiber or nylon. Unfortunately there’s no material similar as the drive in car wash material that has been invented yet for this application. But the foam rips dirt away.
I also modified the ABC modular pole, you might appreciate it. It comes in 6 sections. And after #6s all the add on # 7s fit inside each other. Everyone in my company has broken their pole. So much that I now have 10 sections nine # 7s into the #6 and the #1 (which we broke) that holds the tip. The #1 is now about 14” long and is slid thru the # 6 and welded into place with carbon fiber fix tape. There is zero bow in this going up 65’. And it weighs just 4.5 lbs
Hey StevO, just discovered your page! I’m trying to clean my solar panels and found this video very informative and helped me narrow down some options. Do you have suggestions on poles?
For solar panels, typically a 30' carbon fiber pole is perfect. Xero micro collapses to 54" and extends to 30' windowcleaner.com/products/xero-micro-basic-carbon-fiber-water-fed-pole?sca_ref=3020242.k17l3JaEgS
Hey SteveO do you have a video on the bronze wool pad on the Tucker brush? How to hook it up and how to use it? Not get water all over you when you flip it over and use it on glass? I see on your video your gooseneck has a female end. My gooseneck has a male end and inserts into my Gardner pole? Thanks!!!!
I use my tucker hybrid all the time and love it!! You mentioned cleaning the full boars hair brush, is that to keep it clean from debris so it doesnt potentially scratch glass from all the grit and dirt stuck in the hairs? Asking for a friend😁
Elijah S. It just gets dirt trapped in it that just gets added on if you don’t soak it every once in a while, it won’t damage the glass but add more time to rinsing, sometimes if I’m at a dirty job I’ll detach the tube and rinse the brush periodically so I’m not transferring a bunch of dirt to every window
HI STEVE im looking for 14inch hybrid brush with small hole on the pencil jet since we are 2 user on the same machine/pump big hole for pencil jet make the jet too small not enough pressure, is there some you can recommand? thanks a lot!
Hey, I just had a question. I’ve been having trouble with my wfp not working as it should. What’s been happening is that even when scrubbing the frames really well and then the glass and rinsing it, it still dries with a couple streaks that run down from the top. What do you suggest?
Hey Steve I have the Tucker Alpha Hybrid and love it but I also have the Unger boar hair brush and love it as well. I have been trying to use my 🐗 hair brush on all jobs just to get used to it. Have you ever thought about using strictly your Unger brush to see if it would wear out like the Tucker brush? Do you think there's a difference in scrubbing power because of the difference in the length of hair between the two brushes? Thanks for the great videos and your thoughts on this matter.
Jorge Chavez I do think the Tucker scrubs better and the whole set up with the rinse bar, swivel and bronze wool pad is so nice, I need to order a smaller unger boar hair brush!
I have a cleaner that is kind of rough on our brushes and pole. We have 2 of the nylon brushes that got oil on it from one of our jobs, do you know of a good way to get the oil out of those bristles? Also, we have a boar brush and all the bristles are practically laid down like they've been squashed. Is there a way to fix that or buy a new one?
I would soak the nylon brushes in some water/degreaser and then thoroughly flush out with pure water. Usually the bristles can shape back, I suggest getting a full tucker boar hair brush windowcleaner.com/tucker-boars-hair-brush?pt=MY
I'm going to start using WFP in the spring for our business. I've used a WFP before when I was working for a company and they used nylon brushes and we had great results, but would love to get a boars hair brush as well. My main question is, What is the setup for your boars hair i.e. attachments for the bronze wool pad and the adapter you need to have that extra attachment? Great vid Steve-O 👍
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner Thanks for taking the time to reply! I'll definitely check those out. I bit the bullet in a Xero Trad 2.0 and I gotta tell ya, it made me want a WFP that much more. Have you ever tried a Xero Trad converted to WFP? Regardless I will be buying an actual WFP, just thought I'd ask.
i am starting out my small buisness specializing in electrostatic solar cleaning and i am going with the Tucker products as i realise they are the best. chere Stevo my bros call me Stevo 2 my real name is stephen nicholson
@@thewindowguys2960 I was recently lookong at the phantom but ultimately purchased the alpha hybrid with boar bristles inside and nylon outside. Is the Phantom durable and where does it fall in the spectrum of drag between full nylon and full boar hair? Thanks in advance
Do you find it necessary to rinse with brush off the glass with the boars hair and rinse bar? I use the Tucker hybrid and rinse bar and always rinse with brush on the glass.
I live in Australia and bug poo/splatter is a major thing here... is boars hair strong enough to remove it? I haven’t really found a perfect solution yet.
SteveO The Window Cleaner Gardiner are amazing ... bought reach it 6 months again construct brush worked well but didn’t last long. ... all the best for 2020’ mate.
I have the Unger Radius brush and I like it. It's great for scrubbing the bottom of the window frame/track or if you flip it up it's great for cleaning the upper part of a deep frame. If I had more water pressure I would use all for jets. It covers allot of the window.
@@SteveOthewindowcleaner I do not own it. I have a competitor/friend that I team up with on some large jobs that has it and I have used it before. Amazing scrubbing power and great ability to get in corners. The downside is it huge so if you are going to go 30 plus feet it is way to heavy and you will lose a lot of stiffness in the pole. However for top of the line scrubbing power I was amazed.

Have a few questions. 1. How long does a boar hair brush last before it needs to be replaced? 2. Why do you like the 12 in better than the 18in?
Caleb Gubler with consistent use they last a good year, the 12 inch is lighter and you get more scrub action from it since it’s smaller

To clean your brush just soak it in a bucket of pure water for 1/2 a day, boar hair brushs trap the most dirt
