The reason fools who never truely LISTENED to his words think they "sold out" or changed is because he opened up to us and we were along for the times of his life. He found happiness in his wife, and his child. He healed from what was tormenting him. The Staind albums, in order, are literally the documentation of what he felt at the time. And I'm glad he found the solace and peace he has.
Theyre back with the old sound! Listen their newest song "The Bottom". Aaron said in an interview that that the next album will be a more like a follow up to Dysfunction.
I've always felt that the chorus "and then I come to find everything's ok" was talking about something taking effect i.e. Valium. "seen this all before but that was yesterday, try to walk right through the messes that I've made" is accepting pain and hurt and and letting the marijuana and benzos work their plan and make yesterday not seem so bad. No judgement from this corner as I've been there. Just my thoughts.
They didn't sell out at all. Aaron Lewis writes real music, and that's all he cares about. He could probably care less about your opinion on his musical style. He writes about his life, and what he's feeling. In the earlier albums he was clearly an angry man. He has a family now, and he's obviously happier. So naturally his writing will be happier. You can see the progression through the albums. It's not a sell out. They didn't change their ways to make money, only to keep from being fake.
I love angry music I really do but I also love music that gets yr aderinalin pumping & makes me ready to rock lol. But I'm glad that someone agrees with me thanks sic7maggot.
@chris tx i agree don't get me wrong I like all staind old and new but when you put on an old track from dysfunction or break the cycle there's a different feeling between that and the new
I think they're just finding their sound and trying to strike a balance between old a new. They still have some heavy stuff even on Chapter V. Listen to 'King of All Excuses' and stuff like that. Reminds me of their older albums in a way.
"The hate you feel won't go away you're all programmed to Feel this way to live another day within a world That loves to suffer..." even more true now than it was in 2001. Except now, you can't just shut off your computer and the TV to ignore it. We're all compelled to look on social media, and see what people are bitching about that day. We die a little more each time.
@ScottXC91 right, the same with Linkin Park, if they both had selled out they would play/make music the fans want to hear.. not what the band itself want to make..
Yeh.. I loved Creed when they first came about. It was just real, honest rock but then started turning to shit as they became more well known. Srsly Creed's early stuff is so overlooked though. So I'm just glad that Staind are still running strong.
It's easy for you not to complain! Lookng at your age tells me you are not old enough to have lived through the progression of the band. Its a little different for the people who waited years for new albems to come out and its not what they expected. Unless you started listening to Staind when you were 5, im sorry, disregard this message.
@09prizefighter09 dude this crap was like DROP A, and B ... also mike used a baritone guitar LOL... you tried tuning this low on a normal guitar you would be playing with spaghetti LOL... it sucked cuz i didn't have the cash to buy a baritone or 7 string guitar..
Dude...you have no idea what you're typing. break the cycle was listened to only because of the hype Staind had from Dysfunction. I remember and know music inside and out. BTC was decent...

Very true the people saying he sold out are dumb asses I’m glad he healed as well
I'm not happy he became an ignorant redneck
back when autotune wasn't manditory.
Still rock this CD all the time.
Always worth it.
His voice sounds the same today ❤️❤️
wow, this dude puts every single human emotion in his music, i envy him so
My favorite Staind song!!!! 🎶
2:59 gave me chill bumps
es 100% emocional
Greatest live performance of all time. Sounds like a recording. Aaron Lewis is a God and need to drop that country shit to come back to his roots
Rusty Shackleford I love Aaron’s country music, and this
Lmao. Actually country music IS his roots dude.
Dude, that guy really knows how to sing, sounds perfect!
UA-cam is the closest thing to a time machine. These guys were so good. Blessed to grow up in the 90s🤘🏻
Wysokis intro gets me every time, flawless
Staind is amazing, simple as that :)
And then I come to find...
Wow! I haven't seen this in so long.
Had a VHS copy of this
I wore the f out of.
Not only is this a great copy, it was so awesome to see this again.

Best album from 2001 hands down 🙌🏽
Well there's such an album called Iowa by some masked guys, the band is called Slipknot and that was the best album of 2001😉🐐
I don't want to discredit this masterpiece by Staind, wonderful album!!!
you all already know...Just look at how humble they are when you actually see them out, together.
I remember Family Values ‘01 in DC. Wayne Static came out and did the scream with him. Pretty sick
So emotional...love this.
geez just like the album! i saw them live twice and each song was amazing except there was a huge fight during "for you"
I'm in love with this song.Well hard rock is not my fav music, but this track has a strange power, maybe because of the voice.Staind rules!
STAIND is COOL, i really like this song its very aggressive and hard,Staind is one of my fav ROCK band......KEEP IT UP.

And fortunately they've returned!
3:10 his face after that ridiculous scream his wicked
They were at the same venue with Mudvayne at Jones Beach, NY. I don't know whos set was first, but it was the Oz Fest.
This riff is killer gonna jam it out....🤘🤘 lyrics are probably unnoticed by some...epic heavy rock.
I was at this show . Electric Factory in Philly. BAD ASS! Staind coving Tool, Alice in Chains, and Pink Floyd are on the new album.

This shit was sick never sounded better.
TOTALLY AGREE!
90% of places dont allow it anymore. As soon as they see a leg or arm, the bouncers tear you straight down and walk you to the back or something.

it basically is about him being pressured or having alot of pressure under him is what this song si basically about

3:26-3:41
@ScottXC91 and he produced a non profit album for his daughter's elementary school to reopen it:) amazing voice !!!
These lyrics still apply in 2024
i fuckin love staind!
I love this version so damn much! I've jammed it like 10 times the past hour...fuck..i wish I was there
fucking awesome!
When you're stoned on top of the high you get from playing infront of a crowd that size, the amount of fucks given is 0 ;)
Exactly, and some people just don't take the time to understand that.

I know, you remember Mudvayne, Cold, Disturbed vids? Oh man, those were great!
With a bonus interview at the end!
I love angry music I really do but I also love music that gets yr aderinalin pumping & makes me ready to rock lol. But I'm glad that someone agrees with me thanks sic7maggot.

Looks like his jugular veins bout explode. Great song.
Me 2. Reverb was the shit. I first discovered Staind, Mudvayne, Cold and Adema on Reverb.
@chris tx i agree don't get me wrong I like all staind old and new but when you put on an old track from dysfunction or break the cycle there's a different feeling between that and the new
Old Staindm why aren't you no more??? :/
@staind420 This song's actually in drop G# tuning. And tuning to that on a regular guitar isn't a very good idea.
agreeddd
I think they're just finding their sound and trying to strike a balance between old a new. They still have some heavy stuff even on Chapter V. Listen to 'King of All Excuses' and stuff like that. Reminds me of their older albums in a way.
3:41-3:56-3:55-3:26-3:33-3:48-3:49
This song fucking rocks!!!!!
"The hate you feel won't go away you're all programmed to

@RichAve1468 The new album is going to be EPIC!!!
@ScottXC91 right, the same with Linkin Park, if they both had selled out they would play/make music the fans want to hear.. not what the band itself want to make..
Staind is the shit

Dude...you have no idea what you're typing. break the cycle was listened to only because of the hype Staind had from Dysfunction. I remember and know music inside and out. BTC was decent...
It didn't suck compared to Dysfuntion, but it certainly wasn't as good.

looks like somebody's tried extacy
def. not heaviest..I admit it has alot of sludge and low end, but still not the heaviest.
