    Hello sir .
    I am a dentist from India, completed my bds in 2018 and have 3 years of work experience.
    I’m coming to Canada on spouse open work permit. I want to pursue dentistry.
    What’s are my options?
    What can I do while on sowp which could help me when I pursue dds in Canada/Usa??
    Can I work in a dental office based on my bds rather than work in a wallmart or a restaurant as working in a dental office would help me in the future.
    Please guide me.

      Hello doctor, yes there are several clinics that offer jobs to us BDS grads with titles such as:
      - sterilisation technician
      - front end administration
      - dental assistant (level 1)
      - clinical clerk
      And so on. Ultimately it builds your profile in dentistry in Canada and that is our target. I used to work as an assistant/sterilisation tech as well at one point without any Canadian credentials and solely based on my BDS. However, it takes a lot of research and hunting to find a job like that but it sure is possible.

      Hello, BDS is a very wise choice she will enjoy dentistry as well. After BDS she can come to Canada on students visa and eventually get through to DDS which is dentistry in Canada as well. In my opinion Ontario and British Columbia are two very prosperous provinces of Canada for her. We also have a video on how to come here snd end up with a PR snd DDS as well:

      @TheToothFactory  3 роки тому

      Hello, yes so OHS is a course which is not always chosen by many international students due to its credibility with PR process being low in terms of how many points it give you. But it is technically a post secondary 2 year program which give you a certification in Health and Safety which generally requires a degree in sciences before therefore, BDS will work just fine. Remember it is a certificate course not a diploma which means it may not get you a high paying job and may not be good on PR points either. Here is a link that can summarize the course for you and if you are interested this is the college you want to apply to. It is a good choice.

      Hello doctor, for us to work in Canada as Dental Hygiene, we would have to go through the diploma course in all circumstances. Therefore, I highly recommend planning for applying to various colleges in Canada for dental hygiene program as majority of the college have september intakes and their admissions are open. You will fall under domestic student when you apply.

    • @TheToothFactory

      I would out my word at Dental Hygiene mainly because along with a basic job under a dentist’s supervision where you earn the same amount as MHA, there is an extended scope of private dental hygiene clinic you can open which can earn you over twice the amount MHA can.

      So generally these agents have extensive experience in these procedures and their guidance is often valid. Visa rejection is extremely common when the requirements do not align with the course you have selected. We unfortunately at The Tooth Factory do not have any experience in creating profiles. This is due to us just being a nonprofit guidance organization instead of a consulting business.

    What would you advice to opt bw MPH ,MHA and dental hygienist as it is little confusing which one to opt

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory  3 роки тому +1

      Hello, so this is a very common checkpoint that most of us get stuck at.This is where we have to pull the card of our ultimate vision to choose. See, if you see yourself as a clinician working with patients and working at a practice and staying close to dentistry if you have cleared BDS then dental hygiene is your choice. If you see yourself as a person who is great at analysis and policy making and documentations along with problem solving community wide with new health care approaches while establishing the existing ones effectively then MPH is our way to go. In case you see yourself as someone who is a great leader and keep teamwork running smoothly to manage and run the show at a clinic or a hospital so that health care is provided without any voids and that the institution you work for is working on punctuality with profit and without compromising the patient care then MHA is your way to go. So, ultimately the results as as student visa applicant will be the same. You will study for 2-3 years not matter what you choose, you will have to go through a minimum of 1 year of work permit with any of the three and your PR is looking good too with all 3. So, it comes down to how you wish to proceed with the skill set you have and the interest that attracts your attention.

      Hello Doc, the answers to your questions are straight forward and simple. There is no gender discrimination in dental hygiene. Male and females are not upon a ratio, it is strictly based on applications. IELTS has a saying, if we get a triple 8 and 7 we are good. This means, overall of no lower than 7 and aiming 8 in each category. Yes, you can apply for and work anywhere in Canada after graduation.

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory  Рік тому +1

      Hello doctor! Congratulations on your arrival in Canada soon!
      The dental hygiene course admission for you will require you to apply as a domestic student but will consider your credentials as international. This means, your prerequisites will be internationally submitted from India however your fees will be considered domestic so you will not be asked to pay excessive tuitions as in the case for international students.
      IELTS scores required are 6.5 however, 7.0 and above is good for competition.

Kindly help me with this ...

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory  3 роки тому

      Hello, alright so step one is for you to completely become certain that you will not qualify for PR directly because you double degrees along will contribute to your PR plus if you choose to go through student visa, it will take up to 5 years for you to get your PR and a lot of money. You could spend that same 5 years gaining MDS experience and getting PR directly. So in other words why spend money and struggle to get a PR rather earn money and do doctor’s work and get a PR. Step 2 if you wish to do DDS in canada like a degree course then you need to be in a university which requires a PR but if you just wish to get a dental practice license then you do not need a PR. Step 3 if you choose to get into dental hygiene, maths may be a problem but it is nothing big. They will ask you to complete an upgrading course and it is all online. So do not worry but make sure to choose PR wisely, you are wayyyy to overqualified to come to canada study for a diploma and work at a store to live your days ad pay your fees. In my opinion, you may not have experience right now in MDS but the time you spend in Canada in student visa, you could use to gain the MDS experience and be a doctor.

      @TheToothFactory  2 роки тому

      Hello doctor,
      These courses are very time consuming as the system in Canada for academics is largely based on assignments and a high frequency of tests. The majority of your studying is worth a large portion of your grade which means you are constantly studying and doing assignments and preparing for weekly and monthly tests. Each day you an spend up to 4-5 hours attending college lectures or labs and the rest of the time you could be spending completing projects and so on. The weekends are what you can possibly spare if you spend studying all week. I understand that you are coming with your family and these courses require a tonne of time. I do wish to ask you if you have considered the express entry since you have such a solid dental background with over 10 years in the field. Is student visa your last resort?

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory  2 роки тому

      Hello doctor, congratulations on almost completing your degree. Now for your journey towards becoming a forensic dentist in Canada, you could first go through DDS as a degree program. So you would take the AFK exam and then aim for a high score to get into a university which will then grant you DDS and then continue to your fellowship in forensics to become a forensic dentist. However for all that to be done PR is a must. In Canada to study DDS and a fellowship, we must hold a valid PR. Unfortunately there is no direct route that bypasses this. The other way is to do DSCKE speciality exam which is like MDS to MDS exam but I doubt that will be of much help in our process here. In order for you to get to the PR and DDS point, your entry in Canada is a must. This can be done by either student visa route or by express entry PR. NDAEB is not meant to be a primary mode of entry as it only helps us dentists get a nicer job once we are already in Canada.

      I understand doctor your schedule prevents you from targeting IELTS to the maximum potential althoughIELTS is a medium through which you can cross the competition in express entry otherwise our secondary route is student’s visa route. It is certainly a more predictable route towards PR in Canada but it sure will be lengthy, expensive and most importantly struggled. In the case where student’s visa seems to be the appropriate choice of course, then considering your end goal in Canada would be to become a dentist and practice dentistry, it would be dental hygiene you should go towards as that way you do not loose your clinical skills. It also is proven to be a strong back up career for international dentists to earn suitable income from as well.

      Helllo doctor, you would beba good candidate for express entry PR considering you do exceptionally well on IELTS scores. And your secondary route should be approaching student visa. See ultimately you may take the route of attaining a masters degree in Canada. With that degree you can have a self sustaining employment and an enjoyable non clinical career as well be a good standing for PR as well. Now the only difference is that with student visa route, you will be spending 3 times as much as you would if you were PR to gain a masters degree. So make PR our first priority and if not then we approach student visa route. Hello doctor firstly, congratulations on becoming a dentist!
      You’re journey to Canada must be chosen very specifically and safely as we wish to avoid any visa rejections. Yes your consultants are correct, as a dentist if you ask for assistant course then the government is the one to reject more often than the college. So be very careful as to what you choose and yes for hygiene maths is important and majority of dentists in India would have avoided maths in grade 12. That is what they speak of. I also suggest looking into bachelors of dental hygiene as a degree.

      @TheToothFactory  3 роки тому

      Hello, I am glad you are a PR and that helps you cut short your time for the NDEB timeline. Also, you can do Dental Hygiene since it is a well paying career not just a job and since you are a PR they will treat you like a domestic student it should not be a problem to get your admission.
      Your high school boards will not matter, you just need to get a WES evaluation done. The colleges will use that give you admission.

    Hello sir
    Is there any scholarship for dental hygienist, denturist, mpa mha??
    Which is best course to do?? I am really confused. Is our internship record important because I lost it.

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory  3 роки тому

      Hello Neenu, unfortunately there are no scholarships for international applicants for those courses. The best is dependant upon your preference of clinical practice or non clinical. If the first choice then dental hygiene is. The best.

    I am a bds graduate from India ,what exams or which course I need to do In the field of pharmacovigilance in canada? And is there is a scope for it in canada? Salary? Or just qualifying the exam is enough for to practice as pharmacovigilance?

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory  2 роки тому

      Hello doctor, for the field of Pharmacovigilance, there are several certifications that you can opt for in order to work in Canada and the most popular of them all is called: “The clinical research, drug safety and pharmacovigilance” and it is a post-grade diploma program of 44 weeks in duration. It is offered most successfully by AAPS institute located in Toronto as well as 2 other locations. Your BDS is enough to fulfil the requirements for admission and the jobs are also available in the market at a steady pace. Major research and pharma companies hire graduates on a drug safety measure at an average salary of $30 per hour which is $60,000 per year. It is considered above average in Canada. I have also left a link below to the program I just summarised. Hope this helps doctor:

    Hello sir, I hope you are doing great.
    I am Neha Aheer from India.
    I’m reaching out to you because I want to know few things about MPH program.
    ● Some universities require undergraduate statistics courses is it mandatory?
    ● My academic background is B.D.S from India and I scored 68% during my graduation with distinction in 1 subject in final year. However,some university prefer candidates with 70% or above scores.
    ●I have recently completed my graduation, I want to know if experience is mandatory for MPH?
    I would greatly appreciate if you will help me out with this.

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory  3 роки тому +1

      Hello Dr. Aheer! First of all congratulations on you becoming a dentist. I shall answer your question in the sequence asked:
      - not all universities require that course as a part of undergrad. You can apply to some universities such as Western in Ontario and Lake Head in Ontario which does not require that.
      -your credentials are very good and yes they may say 70% but if your other credentials are higher like your IELTS scores then they will consider your 68 as well. Also your statement of purpose plays an incredible role in your admission process.
      - no you do not need any clinical experience as a requirement for admissions.
      Hope this helps doc!

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory  3 роки тому

      Hello doc and thank you for your appreciation. Both course have equal power of getting you a PR, not one is better than the other but it depends on your preference as to choosing a clinical course or a theoretical research course. It depends on whether you like dental clinical work or you are actually wanting away from dentistry and want to have an office job in the future with management associated roles.

    Hii sir.
    Thanks for your valuable information.
    I have 6+ years of gap from BDS degree from India.
    whether it will impact studying Canada?
    How to apply for a dental hygienist from India?
    would you suggest some colleges or university?

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory  3 роки тому +1

      Hello, I understand you have 6+ years of gap which is not a bad thing because eventually when you try to apply for NDEB licensing, you will need clinical expertise. Academically there are such frequent updates that recent graduates also need to study just as hard to catch up with updates in Dentistry. For example recently the periodontology classification just changed and it redefines gingivitis. So do not worry about your gap. You will pull it through regardless doc. Now in order for you to apply to a dental hygiene program, you first select the college, go to its website and email them regarding their COVID updates as some colleges are not accepting students. Later short list colleges based on acceptance and your preference. Then they have a portal where you can apply to a course and submit the required documents they ask for. Then we wait for their response. Follow the instructions they give you until offer letter is issued. Also i just want to add here, you may not need to come on student visa, please do look into PR directly. You are a dentist and 6 years since your graduation, you might really be eligible. Check it out.
      Also here is the link to colleges and universities that offer dental hygiene in Canada.

    Hello, i'm a final year BDS student.
    I want to pursue dentistry in canada.
    Recently i've come across all the problems faced during visa process by choosing "dental hygiene" as a career option.
    I want to continue in clinical field rather than pursuing MPH or MHA.
    Can you please guide me for the same.
    As I've mentioned above clinical line is my primary focus but due to visa rejection should i go for "dental hygiene" in 2022?

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory  2 роки тому

      So most recently, it has come to light that choosing the highly saturated field dental hygiene is resulting visa rejections. And MPH MHA are not as popular due to them being non clinical courses. In order for us to do dentistry in Canada we must have a preplanned route towards PR as well as NDEB. In both scenarios we must enter Canada on either direct PR or student visa. So far so good. But to come to Canada dental hygiene does not seem to be a solid option as of now. And many people now choose:
      1.) office administration
      2.) denturist
      3.) dental assistant

      Hello doctor, congratulations on becoming a dentist back home!
      I would go for student visa however still get your points calculated for express entry just for the sake of knowledge. Any consultant can help you calculate the points and how well you may qualify for express entry. Now for student visa any course that helps you get a job later with a strong candidacy for PR such as the nutrition as well. Also studying for NDEB is tricky while on students visa, we recommend that to attain the best results, we would study for NDEB on work permit. We also have a video on how to proceed after BDS and make your way towards PR and DDS in Canada. Here is the link to our guide doc:
