    Hi I am not good in maths . Is maths important for dental hygienist program ? Is there is a lot of maths in it ? If yes is it hard or easy ? Please reply. I didn’t took chemistry and biology also so which class chemistry and biology shall I take in adult school?

  • @aniruddh.bhaidkar7565
    @aniruddh.bhaidkar7565 6 днів тому

    Hi Sir It is mentioned that the board will consider if an international dental hygiene program is equivalent and only then further process the application (towards appearing for the exam). If one has to pursue dental hygiene from a dental college in India, how can it be confirmed if that program is valid and will be accepted towards the equivalency?

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory 3 дні тому

      Hello, that is a really good question. So for an international hygienist to apply for equivalency in Canada, they must neet some criteria. This is one of them: Criterion 2 - the dental hygiene program must be established as a separate school, faculty, division or department recognized by the appropriate government agency in the country/jurisdiction where the program is established at a post-secondary institution which is also recognized by the appropriate government agency. So in other words, if you are in a private college in India that provides a hygiene degree, that private college must accredited within the government board for dental hygiene as well. Hope this helps

    Is it easy to get pr after dental hygine diploma in canada for an international student with +2 class? 🙂

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory 7 днів тому

      Hello, I would not use easy as an accurate term as there are several factors that play a role in attaining PR. For example, in 2024, politics had played a huge role in people getting PRs even if they were hygienists. However, if we consider a grand scheme then yes hygiene does help increase the probability of attaining PR.

    Hi, great video. I have 2 questions. 1) I see where you keep saying mail the documents but we have to create register online. If we are to mail the documents why do we have to reguster online? Also do we collect the univeristy prepared documents and mail them ourselves or theyre to be mailed from the university itself? 2) In my country an internship wasnt required so i went right into private practice after finishing school. Will i be turned down if i dont have the internship completion to submit? (Only been practicing a year) Looking forward to hearing from you

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory 26 днів тому

      Hello doctor, here are the responses to your questions: 1.) The online registration is so that we can achieve a NDEB ID number and the payment of the fees will all be done online as well. The documents being submitted via mail is a personal perspective on the method of document delivery. However, people have used the electronic submission method in the past. I just feel more comfortable doing it via mail. Therefore, I recommended a route that I had taken and worked for me. The university must seal, stamp and mail their own documents and we are unfortunately not allowed to be involved in that document trail between your university and NDEB. 2.) There are universities that have not required internships and NDEB's website unfortunately does not specify in what to do in that case generically. However, the best guidance in that case is on the NDEB's website, when you click on equivalency process document requirements, they have a drop down menu for the country of our education. Therefore, once you click on your country, the required documents should be curated for your country specifically. Also, if that method is not giving you a good result on how to proceed, then emailing NDEB is the second best option about this case. They are good as responding to queries. PS: you can also share with me your country of dental education and that way I can also check for you. That is if you are comfortable sharing with us your country of education. Hopefully this was helpful. Please reach out to us if you need us and you can also contact us on our Business WhatsApp at +17802432726. This is where most our viewers say in touch with us for a more prompt response from our team and for a continued conversation.

    Hey Doctor, I am doing WES evaluation and its in process. So should I still get my degree and marks sheet notarized and mail it to them along with application form and DD$300?

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory Місяць тому

      So once it is in process, it is preferable for us to wait for them to respond to us and then fulfilling their requirements. This is because, once you send documents, they are supposed to begin a ticket number which evaluates your new submission independently. This will possibly delay your process. So I would wait until they reach out.

    How to check balanced occlusion ?? What are the methods

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory Місяць тому

      Balanced Occlusion is verified using two interference measurement methods. Firstly we want to use the articulating paper which is 20 microns in width. It will mark areas of contacts on the teeth. We want to see 3 simultaneous contacts with 2 being around the molar and 1 anteriorly ( at the very least). Then the second steps is by using shimstocks. Same concept as articulating paper but this is 8 micron thick sheet of silver coloured paper. This will help us identify the strength in each contact area. Once there is equal contact on both molars and one at a canine or centrals, we have balanced occlusion visually.

    Hello, I was tld that if you don’t have a work permit in the country sometime a license will not be issued. Is that so?

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory 2 місяці тому

      So the licensing body in Canada is an independent organisation that is not associated with the IRCC. Therefore, that allows us to understand that an academic licensure can be attended, but in order for you to use that license to work in Canada- that requires a work permit. So they will issue your license if you are academically sound as per the requirements of the licensing body.

    Why can’t we send documents electronically through university? Is it more liable to rejection?

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory 2 місяці тому

      You can send the documents through electronic measures. There is no rejection probability associated with it. However, personally speaking, this is not my professional advice rather my personal suggestion, that manual submission is something I feel more secure with. However, the option for electronic is open.

    What can an MDS do in Canada that a general dentist isn't doing... After clearing the ndse will it enable to teach

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory 2 місяці тому

      A MDS grad from the equivalency exams is not able to teach in the faculty however they are able to teach clinical courses. Meaning, research and content creation for education in terms of course materials is not possible yet but going to a clinical class and teaching that to DDS and residency students is possible. Other than that MDS can focus on a speciality and work based on referrals.

    • @TheToothFactory

      So a board exam is for all dental hygienists. At the end of a hygiene program you will need to give a version of this exam pertaining to board certification.

    • @lifeistooshort4031
      @lifeistooshort4031 3 місяці тому

      Is it a good idea to do dental hygienist from India and then give exam in canada or do hygiene in canada? Which is better? I am an international trained dentist as well.. it is hard to find seat in canada gor hygiene.. so will it be a good idea to do hygiene from india and giving exam in canada or is the exam tough?

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory 2 місяці тому

      So i do not endorse that hygiene to hygiene route because there are colleges in Canada that offer 18 month programs for hygiene such as CADH in Missisauga but one must be a PR to get full benefit from it.

    Doc at 29.00 you said to increase platelet activity we need decrease prostacyclin and decrease thrombin thromboxaneA2 . Won’t the thrombin will be increased in injury and increased platelet activity ?

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory 3 місяці тому

      Hello doctor, a very good question. So I apologise, I should have been more clear. At 29:00, I displayed a “Resting Platelet” stage where when there is a vessel injury, at that moment there is a decreased state of all clotting relatives including THXA2 and THRMBN. However, eventually in order to activate those platelets something will need to change that. Decreasing prostacyclin will trigger that. Therefore, in a state where there is decreased Prostacyclin C becomes an indication for the liver begin the clotting cascade and for the hypothalamus to begin the arachidonic cascade. Eventually the Thrombin is formed in the liver and transported to the sight of injury, and theomboxane A 2 is formed and done the same. Those resting platelets are now woken and platelets increase. Hence at the beginning of that pathway, there was decreased everything which is odd and the. Body needs to figure out how to fix it and later it is fixed by keeping prostacyclins low and thxnbs go up in number. Hope this helps doctor. Again apologies during the video I should have been more clear.

    • @TheToothFactory

      Hello doctor, you are right. I should have conveyed it more clearly. Under both pro inflammatory and anti inflammatory actions, lysosomal membranes suffer damage. Instability does lead to inflammation and stability helps prevent inflammation. Apologies for the confusion. And good eye doctor! 🙏🏻😍

    Hey ... Considering a career switch to dental hygienist. Worked as a trucker for most part of my life in canada. I am 36 years male. where do i begin ? Is it doable? I have no degree background though.

      Hello, your motivation and drive is commendable. Congratulations to you on this leap! It is definitely doable. Normally all dental hygiene courses have prerequisites which we can fulfil to apply for dental hygiene and then study the diploma.

      So at timer 13:40 we discuss vitamin K deficiency and I mentioned that vitamin K causes clots then I mistakenly said deficiency increases clots. You are absolutely correct. It is my error and I will correct it within. Great catch!👍

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory 5 місяців тому

      Yes doctor so we mentioned some basic prostaglandins and cyclins however, studies have shown that high doses such as 1000 mg and above can lead to ambiguity in blockage which leads to blockage of pgi2 and still cause bleeding and clotting ambiguity.

      Hello doctor, so the article is definitely from 2015 february. However, we must consider the time it takes for new policies and suggested clinical practices to actually take place. Often it takes years to get into practice. This is the reason why a 2015 guideline is being used in 2020-2030 era. To answer your question, for all exam purposes, we use this exact guidelines from 2015 to categorise dental caries. There is also another classification which can be used based on radiographic findings also mentioned in that colourful chart in the article. so the stages and letters corresponding are used together. Both given in this 2015 article.

    • @TheToothFactory
      @TheToothFactory 5 місяців тому

      A similar thing is also in perio where the classification was from 2018 around and it is now being used in practice as it took time for it to come into the daily practice.
