    Man you have a tractor over there with a brush hog attached, just mow it down and then till it. You will be done in about an hour. No sweat, bugs or blisters. 😂

    Hey there Bossman. My dad is 81 and is an amazing gardner. After the growing season he mows all that down so by the time the next season comes around all he has to do is prep his ground, plow and plant. He'd have a fit if he saw u out there doing all that by hand. He pulls up his okra stalks though ❤

    Bossman after a lifetime of camping and trying every single thing anyone suggested to ward off mosquitoes last year I finally found something that truly works...LEMONGRASS. I buy 2 plants and put one on each end of my camper deck. I swear it works. Stick a blade of it in your hoodie or your hat. I promise it will work. It's amazing!

    Those looked like mustard greens or rocket arugula, both grow like weeds and take over. You can eat those collards. Discing will spread seeds, prescribe burn the plot.

Always go to UA-cam or ask one of them old cats you be hunting with when taking on a new venture. Like I reminded you when you did that broadcasting, greens do much better when you plant them on mounds in a str8 row. They are easier to weed and care for. I love your lifestyle brotha. Bossman, you will have better luck this year. Try to get some compost manure and spread it in the garden. For the cabbage don't use the seeds unless you started them inside. It's best to buy the small plants if you don't have time to start a green house. Do you know your zone?

  • @SbrGrendel65
    @SbrGrendel65 2 місяці тому

    I always thought you can plow or disc in your previous crop/grass. That’ll mix into the ground and give nutrients back to your ground as it breaks down.
    I’m not sure why the person said you can’t do that.
    Also in the fall after you take your crop. Bush-hog it, come spring you’ll be able to disc the ground.

    Watching video on you preparing your garden. First you could weedeated it and then put tiller behind your tractor n let it do the work. Or use a manual tiller.
    You can help control weeds by putting commercial landscape covering. . Will keep unwanted weeds. When you plan your plant just dig individual holes and plant your seeds in each hole. You will only have to spot pull weeds. Not the entire garden. Hope it help.

    Suggestions: Let some of those go to seed so you don't have to buy them every year (especially if you're buying non-gmo). Those flowers are edible too--I toss them on salads or just nibble on em'. Dehydrate some of those plants and make a powder for smoothies. Yes, you can eat the leaves...sautee them or throw them in soups and beans. You can always wait until it rains and pull them up by the root. Yes, feed your livestock. Love the videos.

    Last year I bought some "Dairy Doo compost" and it was just full off weed's that took over the garden at Dad's! My garden didn't do so hot either but it was my first time trying, so i call it a success. Lots of kalarabi, taters, cherry tomatoes and some hot peppers that would humble the strongest of men! I had to give them away and got some pickles in return.
    I bought a little 9" cultivator from Harbor Freight and it works very well! It's a little tiller that i used to clean up between rows. It's currently $219 here. I think that would make short work of your situation if you mowed it first.

    Every bit of those leaves can be eaten. They don't get tough. The easy way was to just till it all with your tractor. I don't know who told you not to put those greens in the soil but they would do wonders for your soil. They didn't have mature seeds on them yet so they wouldn't have come back.
