- The Ethiopian government has denied deliberately targeting non-combatants in a conflict that has led to many thousands of civilian deaths.
BBC Reality Check have investigated a video showing a massacre of unarmed men and investigate who might have carried it out.
Strict restrictions of journalists prevented reporting on the conflict, so analysing evidence shared online is another way to uncover details of atrocities.
