- Witnesses claim the troops were carrying out house to house searches after being attacked by members of the Fano militia. The government has not responded to the allegations yet. Ethiopian soldiers and the Fano militia have been fighting since August after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed announced plans to dismantle regional paramilitary forces and absorb them into the national army.

The reporter is denying the reality. No full administrative structure is functioning in the region. All zonal and woreda/district-label government structures are demolished and replaced by temporary community representatives. These areas are relatively safer than areas where the government's armed troops settled. CGTN, Please search for honest information sources than getting from this government allied reporter.

This guy has a lot of interest in the government, and is anti-Amhara obviously for he is Oromo origin. CGTN should not let him report on Amhara issue if you want to be a trusted media outlet.
