- This is the first reaction video that our daughter has been in. She wanted to do some with me, so I though Geoff Castellucci would be a good first video for her to be wowed by! And we weren't disappointed!

😁 I'll pose that idea to her! She had a lot of fun!
Hey daughter welcome to the channel
Thanks 😊 She had a lot of fun!
@@MrsRealistic If you both want to hear Geoff's best ever solo cover then please please do a reaction video to Geoff's brand new solo cover of..Big Iron.
@marshayoung9387 Thank you! I've had a couple of comments about it!
If she doesn't already know who he is, your daughter would probably freak out hearing Harry Mack. 😂🙌✌️
A marvelous Basso Profondo.
Fun reaction ! For a blatant illustration of Geoff's range, try a listen to Voiceplay's 'Oogie Boogie's Song'. Gotta love it !
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
The shock on her face when Geoff went low 😄
Definitely send her down the Voiceplay/Geoff Castelucci rabbit hole.
I know she'll love it!
His highest note is when he is singing Peaches in a "short." He has 5 octaves. B or B flat 0 to B or B flat 5.
What a lovely pair of ladies! Between you two and Geoff, I'm having massive hair envy watching this! I look forward to seeing her reaction to Voiceplay. But to show her how low Geoff can go, don't forget to show her Valhalla Calling! 💙
🤣 I'm honestly envious of hers, as it's about 3x as thick! I'll have to show her Valhalla Calling... that's a good one!
@@MrsRealistic It's my favorite! In fact, I'm listening to it on repeatase I type this!😃💙
Loved the reaction! Wow, you really said copy/paste with her, the resemblance is very strong!
😄 Yes, everyone says that... but I don't see it LOL! I tell them that if they saw a picture of my husband when he was a teen, the resemblance is striking! Our 13 year old son looks a lot like me and my eldest daughter is my clone 😆
She SO a mini YOU! Beautiful! And I loved watching her eyes track and facial reactions!
Thanks so much! I think she looks more like my husband...😆
@@MrsRealistic Absolutely not! lol
But now I'm finding myself wondering what music 16 year olds even listen
to these days! Egads I'm old. lol 65. Maybe have her suggest one for YOU to see?
@@CaraK-bw6bs 😆 They listen to a lot of what I used to listen to, Metallica, ZZ Top, AC/DC... but they like some of the newer artists as well. Well rounded, I like to think 😉👍
@@MrsRealistic OOOhhh! Then wow! Don't you think it'd be way fun to have her see VoicePlay doing Nothing Else Matters? Grin.. With dad there too... of course lol I loved his reaction!
I did nothing else matters... that's one of my TOP favorite VP songs and the first one I did! I should show her that one!
That is awesome that you are sharing this with your daughter…. It makes for a great reaction video!!! Thank you!!!
Our pleasure! She had a really good time!
Beautiful mom, beautiful daughter, beautiful singer and beautiful singing.. IDK WHAT TO FOCUS ONNNN😭😂😂
Geoff Castellucci must have fallen into the talent potion pot as a kid 😆Geoff and his band VoicePlay are beyond epic. And I am glad that Phoenix isn't really afraid of black cats, otherwise my little black girl Mayu would have wanted to have a word 😼🐈⬛
No way, she LOVES cats. She is actually reading (as has read) The Warrior Cats which has a bazillion books in the series. She draws them all day and has a few art books full of different cat characters. I wish I could post pictures on comments to show you. She's an AMAZING artist. She gets it from her big sister Annika, who is 25, and her talent is unreal. They're both far beyond my talent now.
@@MrsRealistic Only a bazillion, huh? I'd love to see her art. My sister and two of her daughters visited me today, my sister helped me a bit with my little garden, and the girls wanted to meet the kittens. The oldest is 16, and she is an amazing artist as well. The youngest is 9, and for a while she thought she was a cat 😸I used to draw a lot too, when I was younger. Nowadays I rarely have the energy and focus to sit down and concentrate on stuff like that. Annika is a nice name, it's actually quite common in my country, not so much in english speaking countries, right?
Great reaction Mrs Realistic Wow! Talk about "two peas from the same pod"
Can't wait to see Phoenix's reaction to Lovebites and Nemophila. Hope you will do some of their songs with her..
Sending best wishes to both of you from France 👍🇨🇵🫰
Thanks so much! We actually did some Nimophila... just have to edit! 😊👍
@@MrsRealistic excellent look forward to seeing that 😊🤞
She would probably love their cover of Golden Hour, there is a five part harmony that will give your goosebumps , goosebumps!!!
Woo, sounds awesome! Thank you!
Wonderful that your daughter decided to participate with you!
Yes, she had a really good time! 😊
A few songs that show his vocal range are: (from VoicePlay) Oogie Boogie Song(Nightmare Before Christmas), Hellfire(The Hunchback of Notre Dame), and (from his channel) jack’s Lament (Nightmare Before Christmas).
And now we add big iron to that list. He was having fun.
You forgot Queen in 5 minutes.
Nice to meet your daughter. She seemed suitably impressed with Goeff, lol She want to see how high he can go, VicoePlay's "Oogie Boogie Song" cover will do that, a good demonstration of his range.
Oh awesome! Thank you! 😁
@@MrsRealistic I believe he also does a cover of "Blackbird" that shows his upper range well.
Dang u and Caveman have a young lady...who's extremely intelligent and in touch.Well done lady!🇨🇦Love from yer Canuck brother!U guys gotta bring them kids back to their other motherland!🇨🇦Good job Caveman and u!Uve done good
Aww thank you! Yes, one day I'll have to show them the beauty of my home country!
@@MrsRealistic yes lady!U and and Caveman need to bring that young lady home so she knows where Mom comes from and why us Canucks are the way we are.BC or bust
I SEE Fire is a great showcase of his range.
I'll be showing that one to her for sure!
Hello all you beautiful people in there ☺️. Hey, Phoenix did very well, be careful or she will take your job 😉😂. You could invite her to hear Dimash, so she can be blown away by his high notes as well. But always after studying, of course ☺️. I had fun with your video, thanks a lot. Peace! 👏👋
She might very well! 😆👍 Yes, Dimash would be a great one to do with her! Thanks for the reminder!
@@MrsRealistic Hey!, I think "Olimpico" could be a good option to hear together. In this song, Dimash is singing half of the song in his baritone/tenor voice and the other half in his soprano voice (he goes from the 2nd to the 6th octave). It's a very energetic song. I recommend his live performance: "Olimpico (Ogni Pietra) - live on July 14, 2019" ua-cam.com/video/dkPS6t84qg4/v-deo.htmlsi=mJKCjW0FxGJhuFUD
Hola to Phoenix, have fun with the reactions
Always nice to see family joining in on the reaction! Phoenix did a great job on this video, and loved her reaction to Geoff's low notes (although these were "only" G1s, and not nearly as low as Geoff can go)!
To answer Phoenix's question about Geoff's range: Geoff's verified low is a B0 (subharmonic) in both the Halo theme, and in Valhalla Calling. He MAY have hit an A0 (subharmonic) in Enemy, but that one still seems to be a little up-in-the-air from some musically-inclined reactors. If you're not familiar with how low those are - the A0 is the first white key on a piano, the B0 is the 2nd white key on the piano - so Geoff may eventually work his way completely off the piano in the future!
Geoff's high is an A#5 in the short Peaches, really a rock-tenor scream. All of these are in VoicePlay videos, so getting to know them will also help you get to know Geoff!
Speaking of VoicePlay shorts/minis - Mrs. Realistic, have you ever considered bundling a few VoicePlay minis for a reaction? They have several dozen of them (I think), all about 1 minute long, with a variety of featured artists.
Oh cool! I didn't know about that! I'll look into it!
In The Hobbit, Gandalf recruits Bilbo to join the dwarves as their14th member because 13 is unlucky. He doesn’t want to go because hobbits generally don’t like adventures. The dwarves sing this song in his house, and I think it played a big part in convincing him to go. The lyrics were written by J.R.R. Tolkien himself, and there are more of them than in most renditions of the song.
My dad read me the hobbit when I was younger, but I don't remember much of it. We have TLOTR on DVD that we've watched numerous times tho!
@@MrsRealistic, I read The Hobbit in my freshman year of high school, and read It to my sons about 25 years later.
@@DennisKovacich I love that!
Its a friday, so do not expect reactions to his new song yet... but Big Iron is exactly why I pay for Patreon.
Look forward to you both getting to hear it.
Wonderful! Thank you! 😁
But it was actually the dwarfs who sang this in the Hobbit - Unexpected Journey. With Technology there are several artists who create videos of themselves singing & backup singers and play different instruments.
Hi I think you should react to Tim Foust and Peter Hollens singing Misty Mountains if you haven't. Tim hits a deep note near the end. Peter is a great singer also he has sang on a couple of Home Free songs
Fantastic reaction love and respect from the UK 👍👍🌟😀😀 amazing channel 👍
Very Nice Mommy n Daughter Realistic.
Anything Happening On The Chantel McGregor ??
Hope To See It Soon
I Know You Will Be Impressed !!!
It's on the list! 😊 👍
🍁🍁🌖🌕🌔🍁🍁 .... what a pleasure to meet your daughter Mrs. Realistic. I don't have a daughter , but I have many nieces and cousins who have been at that "16" mark not long ago. Phoenix is a beautiful girl, and very well mannered. " .. golf clap.." to you Mrs. Realistic. This is a great song to introduce her to Geoff. Hopefully , she likes the experience and will be curious to hear more of his , and of Voiceplay's songs. Great reaction by beautiful Mom and by beautiful daughter. 🍁🍁🌔🌕🌖🍁🍁
Thank you so much! She really had fun! She's not your typical 16 year old. She's very well mannered, and thankfully, not like I was at her age! 😆
YES! And of course as a consumate professional, Geoff just keeps getting better! His lows are even lower now than they were when he recorded Misty Mountains1
He was also a Tenor before he started playing with his lower range so he is a vocal beast! I hope you show Phoenix the VoicePlay video of them covering Oogie Boogie's song from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Plus Geoff solo-covered Jack's Lament which also shows off even better lows than what he had here. Geoff has done SO MANY awesome things! . :)
Thank you! That's been requested a lot!
@@MrsRealistic Yeah, I saw that after I wrote this ^ . It's requested so many times for great reason. You'll see. Just be prepared. :)
I checked your channel and no Unleash the Archers! A Canadian powermetal band with a female singer (Britney Slayes). Awakening is a great introduction, but they have done a version of Northwest Pasage if you want it more Canadian. Perfect for a reaction with your daughter.
Your daughter Phoenix is absolutely your "Mini-Me". Loved the reaction. Got the goosebumps too from those vocals.
Aww thanks! I actually think she looks more like my husband 😄
If she wants to hear how high he can go y'all should listen to his cover of High and Dry by Radiohead.
Welcome to the channel young lady!
Great suggestion! I haven't heard that one yet!
Awesome to see your daughter. This is cool music that you never hear on the radio.
Thanks for watching! Yeah we don't get to hear the truly epic stuff on the radio!
So cool to see you introducing your daughter to this wonderful music! Shes ,lovely 😁💜
😊 thank you, I'm just slightly biased, but I think so too 😉
Yep he does go pretty high in I See Fire. As for how high he can belt live, you may want to check in some older acapella pieces together with such as Voiceplay's rendition of Elvira or Toxic Audio's take on Grace Kellly (in both cases towards the end of video).
She looks just like you🥰 good too see her being apart of this Channel
Thanks so much! She had fun!
@@MrsRealistic Mrs R you should introduce her too Ren & Chinchilla 😊😊
@Cocochristie23 Oh yes, she knows them well!! In fact, chinchilla is one of her favorites! Once I started reacting to Ren and Chinchilla, you KNOW the kids were enjoying my whole Playlist! 😅
@@MrsRealistic love it she has a brilliant music taste just like her mom🥰🥰
I love that you are introducing your beautiful daughter to different music! After this you really need to show her the 'sequel' to this one - I See Fire, from the 2nd Hobbit film, same 4 dwarves but they each have a bigger part, and will show more of his range - or 'Oogie Boogie Song' from A Nightmare Before Christmas. The set is at PattyCake Productions, which is co-owned by Layne from VP and Tony Wakim (former VP baritone, who wanted to get more into the production side of things), it's part of the set from their 'Villains Lair' series, VP also used it for 'Dragonborn Comes' from the Skyrim game..! Geoff also plays all the music himself, using plug-ins for his keyboard for other instruments, such as the percussion and strings! 😊Welcome to the Geoff/Voiceplay rabbit-hole, Phoenix! 😉
Thank you! Yes, I totally broke down when I did his version of I See Fire. It was one of the most beautiful renditions I've ever heard. I know she'll love it!
And don't forget to watch some Voiceplay, all acapella, except when Layne decides to throw a violin into the mix.
We did VoicePlay Superstition 😁👍
Lol so funny you picked Geoff to corrupt her on... I mean start reactions on.
You may like both watching voiceplay disney covers together. We dont talk about Bruno and The Little Mermaid medley are actually two of their most watched videos.
Sleeping in the cold below is like a space shanty
Space shanty sounds awesome 👌 😁
Phoenix has the official "Geoff face" now. 😂
😄 Yes, I agree!
Mother daughter...more like twins!
Awww, thank you 😊
A better sample of Geoff's talent is the song I See Fire from the second Hobbit movie.
Very cool to bring Phoenix on the channel; double mom points for today! Triple points if you introduce her to either The Warning or Freeze The Fall (Canadian power trio her age, 15, 16, and 17; Broken Glass is a killer.)
Thank you! Yes I've been wondering what Warning song to show her!
@@MrsRealistic Evolve at the VMAs is a good introduction. And the brand new Six Feet Deep vid is cool. Kind of hard to go wrong with any of theirs.
@@joeturner1181I think since I have those two to do anyway...I might as well react to them with her!
Excellent and super fun reaction and this was really nice to meet your beautiful daughter Phoenix!!! Superstition by VoicePlay is a perfect choice to show her!!! Thanks for the fun!!! 😊🙏🏻
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! 😁
Has she seen acapella music? Would be fun to see her reaction to VoicePlay!.. Ok, NVM I commented too soon. lol Superstition will be a great pick! ❤
Yes! Superstition was he first acapella song she's heard. It was fun! I'll have that up soon!
Your daughter ask how high he can go. For up and down I STRONGLY recommand the Hoogy Boogy Song (Voiceplay) since it is not yet in you watched playlist. It will give youba really good idea of his 5 octave range.
Thank you! 😁
Show Oogie boogie❤❤❤
Wow your daughter looks just like you!!! Has she heard The Warning??
Nope! I'm not sure which one to show her first. I've told her about them, but she hasn't heard them yet!
show her "Monster Mash" by Geoff. That should have been the first introduction for her
@@larrychristian7239 I'm sure she'll love anything he does... she really likes him! Thanks for the suggestion! 😁
Geoff's range is from A0 to A#5. Try finding those on a piano. :)
It's pretty insane!!
I think I read somewhere that vocalists like Geoff can sing or produce sub-harmonics (not sure if that’s the right term) that the human ear can’t process but we can feel.
I went to a The Warning concert in Denver and I was front row on Ale’s side of the stage.
I was standing almost directly in front of Ale’s bass cab onstage and directly in front of the floor PA speaker which includes the bass speakers.
Let’s just say that I felt that concert every bit as much as I heard it.
Every time Pau nailed her kick or floor toms or Ale played a deep note I could literally feel my insides vibrate. That was such a cool and weird experience and I’m still alive and kicking so it’s all good…lol.
Altho you've already reacted to I See Fire, you could do it again with her on board. It's the same characters as this one, and Geoff goes both higher and lower and spreads the lead lyrics around more. I'd like to see what she thinks.
It's by far my favorite from Geoff so far! He blew me away with how high he went!
@@MrsRealistic You could also check Peter Hollens' version of Misty Mountains. He actually put up two versions. Choose the later one (from 8 years ago), the one with Tim Foust supplying the bass voices. The whole thing is acapella, with scads of overlay tracks. Sounds like a whole chorus. Tim's low range is roughly equivalent to Geoff's.
@@DougRayPhillips Very cool! Thanks!
I hope mum introduces daughter to The Warning . . . 💐❤👍🇳🇿twa
It's a definite yes on that one! Not sure which one to show her first! 😄
@@MrsRealistic "Evolve" at the VMAs a damn good start . . . Depends on her taste . . .
Ya could do" Revenent" at Teatro . . I dont think youve done that one . .
Or my current fav is "Hell You Call a Dream "
@@rogerreed905 I think Hell you call a Dream was the first, or second one I ever did. Definitely one of my ultimate favs! But I still have to do Evolve live as well at their newest Six Feet Deep!
@@MrsRealistic ive watched so many its hard to remember whos done what . .
💐👋🍻🇳🇿
@@rogerreed905 I have a hard time remembering what I'VE done 😆😆😆
Would love to see her react to some corvyx
I'll have to check him out! 😊
@@MrsRealistic please do
well geoff mastered both vocal fry and subharmonic as a barriton bass singer myself i can do it too but clearly not at this level! there is technics for highter range and lower range it's just that there is less low type singers than "hight" type singer it's why you asked " how he can do this?" the answer is simple it's both his range and his technics nothing "impossible" as long as you have the right type of voice, the technics and the training! i have both the type of voice and the technics but i lack in experience and so the training it's the diference! Don"t look at his voice as " inhuman" there is just less singers of that type and so less teachers!
Great to meet Phoenix. Spelling?
Yup, correct! Just like the bird!
It’s not so crazy for someone to do songs playing/singing all parts. Don’t Worry Be Happy
You haven't seen The Hobbit? You need to fix that. They took one book and made three movies out of it.
I know the book... I've never seen the movie tho. My dad read it to me when I was a kid. I've wanted to see it for a while... I'm going to have to look for it now! 😊
I hate to be "that" guy, buuuuuttttt you spelled.bass wrong in the thumbnail. Quickly runs away.......
😂😆🤣 OMG Good catch! *quickly runs to fix thumbnail*....
Tum Foust is better.
