24:25 Ignorance is bliss, at this point D-16 is regretting even knowing because he's so angry, probably more angry and disappointed than he has ever been in his life, dude worshiped Sentinel, put all his trust in him, only to know Sentinel killed his Idol, and lied to his face. He's processing everything he's learned, and is doing so in the worst way possible, he wants to kill sentinel and became erratic to the point he became hostile towards Orion, he's acting while processing instead of processing then acting.
Exactly! Hence why Orion was against him publicly executing Sentinel. Orion knew Sentinel was beyond redemption and wanted to take him down, but he knew that starting the reformation off on a violent erradication of the former elite would not benefit Cybertron's future long-term. Plus he didn't want him or anyone else become the very person they aspire to take down in the first place. Sadly Megatron was too far gone in his anger and thirst for revenge to properly see the long-term effects of his actions. He just wanted to make Sentinel pay for destroying his life by any means necessary. 😢
D-16's fight happy nature makes a bit more sense when you realise that the T-cog does not pick their transformation for them. As Alpha Trion said, he merely unlocked what they were already supposed to have. D-16, is a tank. Which implies he was supposed to be a Warrior, had it not been for Sentinel reducing him to a mere miner.

The class system in the IDW comics is much more sinister. One character managed to change jobs but they kept screwing him over by basically making him pay protection money and got his place of business ruined, so he turned to crime. When he got caught, his punishment was having his face and hands removed (which also added another layer of insidiousness bc the procedure almost always performed on Cybertronians who were born with their bodies already made for them, instead of letting protoform morph around their sparks), so they end up being like cyclop robots with pincer hands, rendering him unable to even go back to that job he wanted to do.

Ngl, kinda refreshing to see another take on Orion stopping D-16 from killing Sentinel. Everyone I’ve seen is asking why Orion was trying to stop him, but he just wanted his friend back😔😔😔
Orion was right in saying that the new age can't start with an execution. I think he kinda messed it up by saying "don't be like Sentinel" in that moment, because you can see how offended D was by that. Like "how dare you compare what I'm doing to this guy who put us through sufferring?" Again, Orion wasn't wrong, but it really did trigger a self - fulfilling prophecy that is the inevitability of Megatron. Man he's lucky Orion gets the blessing of the Primes and gets revived as Optimus. Imagine an alternate timeline where Orion is just dead and Megatron goes through a rampage across Iacon after killing Sentinel and eventually, Cybertron gets destroyed by the Quintessons. I can only think of him finally sobering up to the reality that he killed his friend and he doesn't even have his planet anymore. What was that all for, then?
The symbolic dichotomy during the silent scene after D-16 drops Orion is heartbreaking. One of them is falling and the other is rising. Yet the one who is rising literally is the one who falls. And the one who is falling literally is the one to rise.

It's nice to see a new viewer understand how D 16 is wrong as he turns into Megatron and how he's completely unhinged and acting out of selfish desire. I've seen people claim he's the hero and somehow orion/Optimus is the villain. Complete lunacy.
No kidding, it like Rodimus situation all over again. Orion were protecting Sentinal because he dont want his best friend end up using rage and murder as a way to bring back Cybertron the peace and glory. Orion want to use peace and fair justice, match with him "optimus" believe while D-16 just let rage consume him...
Megatron indeed WAS a hero. He slayed the dragon. Ironically the dragon slayer turned into a more vicious dragon. Megatron is a sad tragedy. He's a product of a series of unfortunate circumstances.
This movie was amazing! And I'm glad someone is finally media literate on understanding the 2 parallels with their viewpoint. While D16 was justified for his feelings and anger, you said it perfectly where he was too focused on how personally betrayed and focused too much on resolving through emotion, vs. Orion who wanted to actually solve the problem even though he also felt betrayed as well. I know it's not as straightforward as "emotion vs. logic" but I don't want to yap on lmao. People always root for mob violence, but then end up shocked when everything is burning to the ground. edit: also just the add, the rage is absolutely understandable. Sentinel literally created classism and racism by crippling a proportion of the population from birth so he can live wealth all whilst bowing to dictators demands. You have no say in your outcome. I'd be enraged too, no "virus" necessary.
5:48 In fairness, it's okay to not have read the comics (although I do recommend them.) It's not a "comic adaptation," in the traditional sense. The original Marvel comic and G1 Cartoon began roughly around the same time and were kind of doing their own separate things, even though they had the same premise and same characters. Since then, every comic, novel, show, movie and game has been creating its own original lore unless it's explicitly stated to be connected to something else. This film takes inspiration from a number of different previous continuities, but it's also telling its own new, unique story.
The amount of Megatron sympathizers that watched this movie is INSANE 💀 I hear mfs be like "Megatron did nothing wrong" after watching him try to preform a public execution
D16 was right about one thing, Sentinel has to be gone. Sentinel is foul for what he did, it's one thing to betray the primes and want power to yourself but to lie to your people, destroying your own home and putting people into slavery. That's messed up, that he established an unfair system. D16 allowed his emotions to take him over which is not good and it's his fault but you cannot blame him since he had no power as well as being a follower, following and believing in his idol and the system of Cybertron. If you think about it, that just proves that both Optimus Prime and Megatron want the same thing for the plant and their people. Unified as one but has different idealogies to get it which sets up the famous civil war. If you really deep it, its like Professor X and Magneto in X-Men First Class
Damn, now I gotta watch the whole movie before seeing your reaction! 😭😭BRB! Update: this took me back to watching Transformers as a little kid! Well done for sure! From what I've studied in med school, Megatron is the prime definition of someone with Borderline Personality Disorder. P.S. How are you emotionally since Dealthy Hallows pt. 2?
I never thought of the real life psychology of Megatron's condition, but I now want to have a therapist do an analysis on the psychology of Megatron. 🤔
Megatron's "fallen into darkside" is better written than Anakin's. We were shown Orion & D laughed, cried, did stupid shit together, and adventured together. These highlighted their bond making D's falling dramatic & impactful. They did a good job making me emotional invested. There were 3 robot-related movies that made me tears- Batteries Not Included, Short Circuit, and Bumblebee. This makes my 4th.
Yeah I always thought they shoulda started the Star Wars sequel trilogy with Anakin as Obi-wans apprentice and over three movies show that bond and it woulda been more heart wrenching by third movie. Them fighting together, getting out of trouble together, etc. lost opportunity
After all he did take the same cog that belonged to *The Fallen* 👀 But also i think the whole bit of: "Their individuality... Enhanced... By these." Had he never gotten a cog. He wouldn't have been blinded by strength and rage. It amplified what was dormant.
Elita-1 actually predates Arcee. She first appeared in season 2 of the G1 cartoon, where it's revealed that she stayed behind on Cybertron to lead a group of female Autobots against Shockwave. In the episode "War Dawn" we see Optimus' origin story. Orion Pax as just a dock worker during the Golden Age of Cybertron, working alongside his girlfriend, Eriel, and best friend, Dion. One day, Megatron attacks the warehouse where they stored energon, fatally wounding both Orion and Eriel. Orion was taken to a young Alpha Trion who used the matrix to rebuild him as Optimus Prime, later using Prime's blueprints to rebuild Eriel into Elita-1.
38:13 the core having a virus is actually a good idea and makes sense for megatron switching up [ik he switched up because sentinel prime (his idol maybe? Or he just trusted him so badly) turns out to be a bad guy but the core being a virus is a good support for his switch up in my opinion, maybe like the prime that previously used that cog could hide his virus and have been sabotaging the other primes in secret] and physical change
That would make an interesting dynamic in the War. The Madmech was infected by corrupted programming and his old friend is trying snap him out of the corrupted programming. But the more time he is infected the deeper and intensity of the corruption slowly becomes more irrepairable. 😢
I’m not a huge transformers fan but I’ve been binging tons of these videos just to see people to react to the line at 24:38 , and I think your reaction has taken place as my favorite LMAO
i keep yapping, my bad, but yea i really love how their relationship felt very real and it's genuinely sad seeing their fallout like this. Like we all know how it's going to end up, but they wrote their relationship so well, I desperately didn't want them to become enemies at the end.
Definitely refreshing to see a reactor that wasn’t messing with D-16’s actions lol. Dude was not in his right mind and let rage completely blind him from anything else. The minute he started projecting in the cave saying shit like “That’s your problem, you’re never thinking about anybody else, just yourself!” I was like oh nah, Orion from the beginning was all about making Cybertron better. He was literally ALWAYS thinking about others and the good of the people, D was the one constantly only thinking of himself, even before his decent into rage. It was always about HIS rank, HIM getting demoted, HE was going places etc.
Orion Pax/Optimus Prime is voiced by Chris Hemsworth(Whom you probably know as Thor from the MCU and Warlord/ Dr. Dementus from "Furiosa"),D-16/Megatron is voiced by Bryan Tyree Henry(Who was Detective Mike Norris in the "Child`s Play" 2019 Reboot and the hospital desk dude in "Joker" Arthur Fleck grabbed his mom`s psych file out of the hands of), Sentinel Prime is voiced by Jon Hamm from "Mad Men", Elita 1 is voiced by Scarlett Johansson and Bumblebee/B-127 is voiced by Michael Keegan Key of "Key and Peele", "Epic Rap Battles of History" and "The Predator" fame or infamy however you look at it. Incidentally, Peter Cullen, the OG Optimus Prime, provided creature effects for the first Predator Film. Those clicking noises, The Predator mimicking the perverted marine Billy`s evil laugh and Dutch`s "You`re one ugly motherfucker"? That was all Peter Cullen!
from what i can gather, in this continuity "prime" is a title that was originally bestowed on the original 13, but i feel is likely to be passed down as kinda like if there were 13 popes. usually its a title that started as something "holy" and eventually became a military title
"Hasbro owns Transformers, since when?" Since 1984. It was originally a toyline from Japanese American businessman Takara Tokoyama who made a deal with Hasbro in the 1980s.
14:48 one thing people need to remember with some of the jokes that they’re throwing things in for the kids to bring them in to watch it. 21:35 He’s a prime a son of Primus so their powers would be stronger than all other transformers. This shows why Optimus and Megatron are so strong and why Bee is so strong even though he’s small because they received their cogs from the original primes. 23:54 either one of the first or deemed fit to hold the Matrix of Leadership.
I don't think the cog had anything to do with Megatron's descent into darkness. I think it was always there. He believed in the system wholeheartedly, and the entire thing was shown to be a lie.
Cool detail that while his cogless, the helmet resambles the original commercial, but once getting megatronus' cog becomes more official. Also his fusion canon was very generation One!

Bee running like mark Ruffalo in that one avengers blooper always get me lol. Also I noticed Elita's fighting style is similar to Black Widow's fighting style too.
D-16 is fr just young kratos💀
0:13 Light hearted… okay-
Optimus is the Latin word for Great and many other more
This movie was amazing!
0:54 they created the franchise…
lol I was so confused in that statement
Now I almost wish I had seen this in the theater, it looks really good.
BEST TRANSFORMERS MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!! THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE TRANSFORMERS MOVIE!!!!!!!! I SAW THIS MOVIE TWICE IN THEATERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The amount of Megatron sympathizers that watched this movie is INSANE 💀 I hear mfs be like "Megatron did nothing wrong" after watching him try to preform a public execution
Tbh, I hear Megatron's voice sounding more like young Kratos (TC Carson) than old Kratos (Christopher Judge)
yeah i hear the same
D16 was right about one thing, Sentinel has to be gone.
Your one of the few reactors who is on Orions side when he interferes with D-16. You are worthy of the Matrix of Leadership
Let us know when you watched it!
@@terogates1 I did! Definitely one of the best up there with Transformers 1-3! Megatron got too power hungry, but I loved it!
I never thought of the real life psychology of Megatron's condition, but I now want to have a therapist do an analysis on the psychology of Megatron. 🤔
@@seraphi3387 Yeah, I'm in med school and I studied the personalities in depth, and he definitely had BPD
@@chrischreative2245 they did try in Star War but somehow doesn't work well. Felt not... what word should I use? I think 'organic' ?
Just found your content and I love it. Keep up the good work brother man!!!
After all he did take the same cog that belonged to *The Fallen* 👀
But also i think the whole bit of: "Their individuality... Enhanced... By these."
Had he never gotten a cog. He wouldn't have been blinded by strength and rage.
It amplified what was dormant.
Kinda wonder if he had his T-cog all his life, would he have let the power get to his helm as much? 🤔
I’m not a huge transformers fan but I’ve been binging tons of these videos just to see people to react to the line at 24:38 , and I think your reaction has taken place as my favorite LMAO
love your reactions. One of the best out there.
i keep yapping, my bad, but yea i really love how their relationship felt very real and it's genuinely sad seeing their fallout like this.
D16 went from taking down diesels to becoming a diesel himself
15:10 A A Tron! D-Nice! Where D-nice at? Mkay, yall tryina be cute now, watch it A A Ron!
from what i can gather, in this continuity "prime" is a title that was originally bestowed on the original 13, but i feel is likely to be passed down as kinda like if there were 13 popes. usually its a title that started as something "holy" and eventually became a military title
"Hasbro owns Transformers, since when?" Since 1984. It was originally a toyline from Japanese American businessman Takara Tokoyama who made a deal with Hasbro in the 1980s.
Primes have superpowers related to their own name in latin...
KP gets it, man. He understood the assignment.
"Oh, Hasbro owns transformers? Since when?"
X,D Oh, you sweet summer child.
OMG.......love your pfp thats Aran Ojiro haikyuu right?
Also loved this vid and have a great day or night😃
Megatron/D-16 is actually voiced by Brian Tyree Henry who is Jeff Morales (Spiderverse) and Lemon (Bullet Train) And yes it was most likely RC, they wouldnt do us dirty in this fantastic movie if they didnt show us RC.
Alpha Trion gave D-16 his cog when the rage in him really started to build up, he was given power at the wrong time
You are really good at picking up voices
30:48 “Starscream, in what universe are you not a pussy that just runs away?”
Shattered Glass Starscream: 🤨
Armada Starscream: 🤨
Bayverse Starscream: 🤨
Racist Robots😭😭😭😭 forgot who said that line
42:37 -> was perfection 👌😂
13:38 That's so sad. Look at how happy Megatron is. Poor dude thought Sentinel was a real hero.
Surprisingly brilliant movie!
this is new easy version origin of transformers... give idea the golden age of cybertron... hope they can made transformers two even they say is a flop.
I love your commentary you really get Orion and D-16 it's great
At 12:00 now. Yeah fhis is my thing. All my comments help the channel trolls, calm down lol. Anyways, you hit on one of my favorite parts of the movie. The diversity "God that word is so tainted now its hard to say" of their transformations. Everything before it, other than maybe comics to a small extent, have used the 2md half of these being's existance, as sort of a way to get fron point a, to b, like its their car or some shit. If you can morph your hody at will, youd do that shit all the time right? Got hand stuck in some bars ir somethkng? Transform it and free. Someone holding you fron behind? Cool, a quick flup, 🎉and now im running you over, or dropping you from a few hundred feet up. LOVE IT!
Love transformers and this movie especially. I think this is THE best transformers movie but if I would to rank em, I can’t put it over the 2007 film. I fw w u and your reaction. Subscribed
Christopher Judge is Megatron would...just make me cry tears of joy
I have seen so many videos with a title like this all proving that whoever was in charge of marketing should be fired.
I'm at 9:30. If i were you, I'd he more impressed eith the guy who you cant figure out his idemtity. THAT to me is good voice acting, but yeah Thor brought the thunder too fo sho.
20:22 He just starts eating wtf 🤣
"Hasbro own transformers, since when"? Man, like from the beginning! All because some joes.
movie time 🍿💙
9:03 Naw I was dead 😂
Has ro has owned transformers since they imported them from Japan in 82 or 83...the cartoon started in 84 and the first movie happened in 86...this movie is a mix of lor from all the shows.
Also, to be a Prime you have to be chosen by Primus.
30:48 Armada I suppose
Armada Starscream is a warrior.
ARISEEEEE.... OPTIMUS PRIME🥵🥵🥵
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Why is your beanie 16 bit?
Prime Luther King
I hate whoever marketed this movie. Everyone who watched this enjoyed it. Now their not gonna make transformer movies anymore.
React to reel steel if you haven’t already
You talk like you never watched the Transformers series cartoons. I grew up Saturday Mornings watching them. Megatron is Evil not the chrag in
His chest it’s all him, he just needed a reason and Betrayal was it.
