Excellent implementation of your idea. I have been thinking about mounting a tool box on my bx and you have shown me how. Thanks and great idea and work.

I can say after using my tractor this season with the extra weight of a chain in the box on top of all the tools it stayed together. The extra reinforcement helped maintain the box integrity with all that weight even with the lid open for quick access. Thanks for the kind words.

Nice, but if you have a backhoe you will not be able to turn the seat around, but I am going to put it on the other side. Also what size width were the U bolts, Great job Thx.

great looking box. Well thought-out mounting and I like the quick removal option. don't know if you ever saw my comment from a few weeks ago but I am using an HF backhoe in the mountains of Maine with great success moving rocks Macon trails creating Water Management ditches and so on. I'm wondering if anyone out there and your subscriber group or you yourself may have research to obtain any information on adding an accumulator to that little backhoe?

Too many ouch grabbing things in the bos. First mount the box support plate with the screw/bolt ends coming out of box. Next trial fit u bolts, then cut off u bolts to fit. And use bolt cap heads, rounded heads, no ouch places in box. I saw a plastic box support mount that provided the bottom of box support and it looked really good mounted on the rops.

Seems way overbuilt, but if you are really going to store a chain, probably needed to be. Personally I just need some nitrile gloves and a small pry bar for connecting/disconnecting the loader and hydraulics. May a small vicegrips, too just....because vicegrips. I can put a nylon tow strap in as well for pulling posts.
I think I will go with a plastic .30 cal ammo box, just ziptied to the ROPS. Hat tip for your original idea !

Mark Super Fly I first tried the plastic ammo case from Harbor Freight the weight in the case distorted the box and it never closed right. When I went to the metal case the steel is so thin I figured I better reinforce it so I would be done with it. So far with the metal case it works great and it keeps the moisture out.

Nice . I wish I could find a spot on my BX23 to mount a toolbox that would not get in my way .. I have backhoe so with this install the seat could not swivel AND I would be banging my elbow on it all day long LOL :)

George Shaffer You could mount it on the outside of the ROPS and it would be out of the way.
