    I have a LX3310 Cab kubota tractor and I had the dealer put the spacers on. Glad I did. I also have a ballast box and my tires are loaded. I tipped a new holland tractor with no spacers. I bought a L3240 kubota that I almost tipped and I ended up going back to the dealer and had a curtis cab put on along with the wheel spacers. Wheel spacers work. Better to be safe than sorry. Nice video by the way.

      I've heard the wheel spacers with chains are the way to go too for more clearance for the chains.

      I've never used chains but to another point, the only time I don't recommend ballast is when plowing. I want as much weight as possible on the front tires for steering 🤠👍

    Sam, another great video! I put the Bro-Tek spacers on my BX2680 within months of getting it in 2019. It made a huge difference with the uneven terrain. I also use wheel weights, and with the loader, suitcase weights on the back. With the spacers and proper ballasting, you can do a lot of work with the BX! Thanks for all the great content!

      I can tell you that my box blade with 4 of the 42 pound suitcase weights on the cross rails still isn't enough when I use the pallet forks. I ordered a ballast box for my BX2680.

      Absolutely! I remember the very 1st day I operated my BX. I tried to lift the end of a small dead ash tree and the tractor had a surprising amount of strength but the rear end was ready to come right off the ground. That was way before I knew about ballast 🤠👍

    I put spacers on after adding a canopy that I got from my dealer and was heavy enough it made my bx more unstable because the center of gravity changed, the 1.5" spacers made a world of difference! Stay safe and have fun!

    Great video, Sam. Again. Thanks for stressing the importance of counterweight on a tractor. The combination of counterweight and wheel spacers really makes a sub compact tractor much safer. The only thing is for all of us to remember is to not let it give you a false sense of security, alway be aware of the tractors' limitations and the terrain.

    great video. I get the spacing part but the part that confused me is the distribution of weight relying on the wheel studs. while the wheel the hub is connected to spacer with the 5 or six lugs, the entire load is back on the two wheel studs.

    I don't have spacers on my BX2680, but thinking about picking up a set. I ordered a ballast box the other day, its supposed to be here tomorrow. The roto-tiller and the box blade aren't heavy enough to really work as proper ballast when using the loader....more of an issue with the pallet forks.....when I pickup the pallet that my roto-tiller is stored on, I add 4 of the 42 pound suitcase weights to the cross bars on the box blade, and even that its still a bit sketch when the tractor hits a bump. There have been several times where I'd had to just drop the loader to the ground to keep from tipping over....so wheel spacers and the ballast box are kind of a must I think.

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  11 місяців тому +1

      I have 500 lbs of ballast on my 2380 almost all of the time. I also add tools, chains, straps, etc, so it probably ends up close to 600 lbs. That's the only way I'll do any serious lifting with my loader. The spacers really made a big difference. I am very impressed 🤠👍

      Ive got the r14 tires and have the 54" belly mower deck. My measurements basically show 1" spacer and that still may rub on the deck wheels. I havent done anything yet but ill probably go with 1.5" and just not use the mower deck or modify the deck wheels @samsdoinstuff

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  Місяць тому

      If they did that, they couldn't sell them. Kubota does offer them as an option when you build your tractor, but many people don't want them or need them. OEM spacers are more expensive of course 🤠👍

  • @HarleyRiderMC
    @HarleyRiderMC 11 місяців тому

    The way you pulled those tires off leads me to believe you do not have liquid ballast in your tires. Why not? My dealership highly recommended it and dissuaded me from installing spacers. I see lots of UA-camrs installing spacers, but also hear Kubota dealerships saying it’s not good for the tractor.

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  11 місяців тому +1

      I would like to fill my tires at some point but I have about 500-600 lbs of ballast on the back which is plenty. I feel pretty confident the spacers won't cause any issues because Kubota offers them as an option. I don't think they would sell something that would damage their tractor 🤠👍

      Kubota staff say a lot of things, based on what they do not know, and what they are told. All specifications and limits are there ONLY to protect the Manufacturer from Warranty and Liability claims.

    I just went through a week of controversy in a BX facebook forum, asking people to PROVE 2" spacers make any difference. I got a lot of flack from people saying "it feels more stable". But to me, considering physics, I DO NOT believe the actual tip angle is significantly different. On flat ground, maybe people believe the BX rides better, but slopes are the real issue.

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  6 місяців тому

      I'm on that same Facebook group. I keep saying it. No matter how wide of spacers you use, if you don't have proper ballast and the rear end comes off the ground, spacers don't do anything. I was surprised at what effect they did have, BUT I always use proper ballast. Ballast is way more important 🤠👍
